Another week spent in the basement
Why can't we just use previous years ident instead of having to go through the rigamoroll of keying the same ole name, address, S.I.N. and the like?

Worked OK, but frustrating use of IE
The program worked OK, but the author's use of IE and scripting for web access is VERY buggy. Lots of strange script crashes when trying to access web based services like the enrollment in Audit Defence.
This is very common with Intuit software.
Intuit could do much better for those of us who are not IE users.

Mostly helpful - one annoyance
I've been using QuickTax then Turbo Tax for many years and have always loved it. Very user friendly and helpful. However, this year there was a warning with the medical expenses that was not valid. From review of other users' comments it appeared to be a common concern with no validity to it. It would have been nice for Turbo Tax to rectify the problem right away instead of being fairly non-responsive to the users. I may or may not use Turbo Tax next year ....

A bug in the program
When copying information from the return for a dependant child, TurboTax fails to inlcude that person's income.
Last year this error resulted in my refund being delayed. This year I opened the form and manually corrected the error.

complicated questions
When you get to CRA netfile additional information the question reads- Do you have 'NO' INCOME to report. Double negative here. What does this mean. I am told the answer should be NO even though you just reported income on complete return. Why not ask "do you have anymore income to report???" Same silly question about whether you changed your direct deposit info or address etc. You have to say yes or is it no, already I am so confused I cannot tell you now. Not the first time I or many others have mentioned this to Turbo Tax. Think I will try a new company program next year. Enough!

Confusing
While I have used this product for several years now, it is still confusing when you go back to review something then have to go through all of the intermediate steps to get back to where you were when you started the review. I got dinged for about $500 last year by Quebec for things that the program missed or should have included. It will be interesting to see what happens this year.

Quality is Eroding
I submitted a number of comments to Turbo Tax this year regarding the functionality of the program. I must admit that after using the program for it's very first year in existance (WinTax) I am disappointed in it's current state. Note: be careful with the recommendations that it makes during the reviews. What may appear as a recommended approach may not be the one that results in payment of the least amount of tax.

frustrated trying to find error
My wife and I had completed everything and were ready to submit when an error regarding dependants came up. It told us what the error was but we tried along time to find what it was talking about. We never did. If only when you clicked on it, it would take to the box that it identified as being incorrect, instead of guessing and hunting for the specific box.
We never did figure out what the problem was but after starting all over from scratch we must have not had made the same mistake becuase it worked.
Wasted a few hours, probably could have done it long hand faster.

Did not allow transfer of info from QuickTax
My biggest problem with TurboTax 2011 was that it did not allow personal information and detailed tax summary information to be transferred from our QuickTax 2010 returns.
In general, the program works quite well, but has it's own file/save procedures that are different from other Windows programs e.g. MS Word.
In addition, the pension optimizer did not produce the best possible split amount. This had to be done manually.

I've used this product or it's predesor's for many years & frankly found this years version frustating in that I could not find a phone number to contact one of your widely advertised experts. My needs were minor but someone who works in the field could have saved me a lot of time. I'll look around next year.

videos should be slower. Not everyone is a spead reader.
all forms should be included including the form you need to submit payment if you owe.
Those instructions should also be made plainer.

1st Time User
Works great for standard tax filings. However, I encountered issues preparing tax filing for deceased brother and his widowed spouse for such items as pension splitting, med expenses and charitable donations.

While I find some of the help a bit hard to follow (as in doesn't tell me clearly where I need to enter something) but overall I woulodn't ever dream of doing it by hand. This is so much easier. And once you find your item it does help a great deal

Useful
However, whenever I tried to bring up "Forms" mode, I could not enter any data into the forms. Very annoying for someone who generally prefers that over the "Easy Step" mode.

worksheet problem
This year the worksheets requiring you to enter amounts do not have any numbers on the lines that match those on the tax forms. This is a nuisance if you are following last year's return as a model.

Turbo Tax 2011
This program crashed on a regular basis when I clicked on the 'check for updates prompt'. I had to reload the complete program several times. The summary check for netfile stated there were errors needing fixing and requested removing the 'red star' from the top of the affected pages. I found no red stars present.
Previous years versions sold as Quicktax' were better in my opinion.

Fix the font size and colour
I am 68 years old. I am part of the Baby Boomer generation, which is a LARGE part of your client base. People my age have diminished eyesight. Using TurboTax is terribly hard since you have chosen:
* to make the font size very small
* have not solved the missing "zoom" feature in WinXP
* have chosen to make the font light grey on white background
The combination of these factors makes working with your program difficult. Please don't suggest that I adhjust my entire system's font settings -- it's perfectly fine in every other program.
I and others have been complaning about this for several years. Why haven't you fixed it?

change issues
I entered income data incorrectly and could not override the incorrect number. I had to delete the entire file and start again.
Using easy steps, it is not convenient to move back and forth within each block of info - either you go back page by page or restart at the beginning of the section
the program will not permit printing of the final review or the side by side yearly comparison - why??
