Good Considering
Taxes are painful and complex. This program is not perfect - but it does make it possible for ordinary people of possibky above ordinary intelligence to file their tax returns without using an accountant. Actually, we do have an accountant review our returns anyway. But we don't pay them very much.

A must have
Good, however, like all other tax software, you find yourself going back, in easystep, to review, only to find yourself returning to start of section instead of where you left.

Good.....but make a Mac version please!
Good product, 2nd time using it and overall I like it.
However, why is there no Mac version? If there is no Mac version for 2012, then I think I'll be switching over to one of the naive clients.
Now my return is filed, I'm going sans Windows finally. Also, I don't trust the online version regardless of any promises of safety.
Mac version for 2012 please ;)

Long winded
Turbo Tax used to be an easy to use tax program but in the last few years it is becoming more complex, offering more useless options with each click and I have bought the software to prepare my taxes and it keeps telling me to try this and or that service how about next year an option of only preparing taxes without all the try this try that stuff.

sloppy coding
The quality of the program’s screen displays has deteriorate. 1. Forms display larger than the screen (1600 x 900), 2. open Forms are no longer easy to identify and 3. the search screen is too narrow and without a down/up scroll bar.
After many years as user I think I will consider other tax program options next year.

Underwhelmed
I have use Quicktax/Turbotax for years, truely underwhelmed this year as despite updating and even reinstalling the software and windows updates, java errors popped up on every single page load which wasted a ton of time. As well after first filing my tax return and then my wifes, I was asked if I wanted to file my return again...
Not your best work ever Turbo Tax team, lets hope for a smoother ride next year.

Too small
Your text size is way too small, I can barely read it and it's very hard on the eyes. I have 4 returns to do. It's hard to see the numbers, size 6 font??? size 12 is the norm. Also, the light blue text is impossible to read, and then to put it overtop of grey colour? I will no be buying this program again next year unless you fix this issue

Just fair
I have used the program for several years for my wife and I and find that it is not bad but there are a few point in the process where things could be clarified a great deal. In some cases the wording is *very* poor or just no explaination at all.
Overall it is usable and I use it. There are a few features I really like. Value wise I rate it a FAIR.
I keep looking for a more user friendly product.

Simple and easy to use...just a few confusing parts but that was just because it was my first time. I'll know it better for next year's return.

Easy-Peezy
I have been using this software for over three years now and it's done within a few hours. I say this EVERY year but, Turbo Tax needs to get with the times and make their software MAC compatible -- this is the only reason I don't give this five stars.

short comings
Some of the short comings of this program are:
The font is too small and is not adjustable, there should be some method to adjust the font size.
The summary sheets should be printable at any time of the process so one can keep a check on things.
The internal advertising is rather annoying, if I bought the Standard that is what I want to use.
To be able to Copy - Paste would help in places.

Renamed, Previous Excellent, This One BUGGY
I have been using QuickTax since 2006 but renamed for this year as TurboTax.
I have never had a problem with QuickTax but I'm afraid I couldn't say that for this year's edition.
One 'bug' ...
Entering the SIN for a second child produces an error that says "Entry is too long or not in the correct format". I kept trying and trying to enter the value for my youngest and still no luck. Same Error EACH TIME. This isn't a problem in itself until you dig deep into the help where it mentions that some of the fields are optional entries. It would have helped if right next to these fields there is the word "optional" instead of having me waste my time trying to enter a SIN that was not mandatory!
The mark would have been a 10 out of 10 but as of now it's only a 9.

Error on 'Medical Exopense'
When running this program this year it claimed my spouse had medical expenses of in excess of $5000. Hard to believe when claimed expenses were actually $0.
If our friends would kindly review and confirm this little glitch it might be appreciated.

tax credits
The tax credit reviews/explanations are NOT helpful! Instead of giving directions such as "lesser of" this and "% of that" the program should plunk in the data I have entered so far & say "yes" you can apply or "no" I don't qualify. The explanations are very, very, very confusing and therefore not helpful.

I found this program a bit difficult to navigate back to a section and redo something. I am not very computer wise, so it may just have been me. Once I stared over, twice, I got it and found the entry very quick.

The product itself is fine, but they use a teeny weeny little font that you cannot enlarge in any way which is totally unbelievable. If they had ANY regard for their clients, they would either use a proper size font, OR, at least provide client with a way to increase it's size!!!

Not happy
The printing is so small, I have to have my face almost on top of the screen to read the writing. You need to include a option to increase the font size or zoom so we can see what we are reading. I will no longer purchase your product till this is an option.

Tactic for upgrade
Very disappointed with the alerts regarding medical expenses that I got. Had no medical expenses entered and I am getting audit alerts telling me to upgrade to more software. Reviewed 4-5 times before I saw all the comments from other people regarding this problem. Have always had great Quicktax results, so very disappointed with this on the first year of Turbo Tax.

Strange Happenings
I had trouble with Turbo Tax this year. I loaded the program but could't open it. Had to reinstall, turn my computer off and on several times before it would allow me to open the program. I made an error on my husbands return, went back and deleted it but it still printed on the form. I ended up by doing another one because I wasn't sure whether it really had deleted it. There should be options to print the screen that you're working on. I've used this tax program for many years but must say that there were a lot of weird things that popped up for 2011.
