The program only lets you key in data when the screen font is on 'medium' which is a pain cause you have to change your resolution any time you want to use the program!

Good Purchase
Great product but the programing will not allow you to print off your return or any of the information that is needed to be filed away. Not being able to print off this program is very disappointing, this is the second year in a row that this has happened with this product.

Way too many advertisements
Way too many advertisements for Intuit products throughout the process which actually confuse and complicate the tax preparation. if they have to be there, stick them at the begoinning or end but NOT in the middle of the tax preparation process.

Self Employed Income
I found this section not to be as good or easy to use as in previous years. Even my industry code was deemed invalid even though I have used this code for years and the info to reclassify was not satisfactory. This aspect was most disappointing because in searching for right code and redoing this section I ended up with several income forms for self employment even though I only have one business and it was hard to delete and correct the ones that I tried to correct. It made me nostaligic for Quick Tax which was more simple. I may switch to another tax program I saw that is Canadian but I can't remember the name. Anyway my rating is not as easy as previously available.

Does it all for you!
Great if you know all the lingo and codes...if not...guess? I don't speak federal finance too well; some help with where to find codes (ie: capital cost allowance codes) would be appreciated.

Printing of returns
Turbo Tax prints 25 pages of the filing even though we elected to close unwanted forms. They need to do a better job of just printing a 2 page summary sheet.
It is a total waste of paper and ink when we are netfiling and printing at home.

Medical Receipts
Wow....I didn't realize how hard it would be to try and remove medical receipts from this program. Once it takes you through everything it suggests to save your receipts for the next year(great idea) BUT it is close to impossible to find them and remove them.
Big benefit here would be to make a link when this suggestion is made that would take you back to this point of entry.

Not good for 2011
It found errors during the review process that it should have been able to correct itself but instead just took you gack to that section. The help tool was very poor and told you to look for things that were not there.

Not as Useful as I thought
I originally bought turbo tax because my husband starting working in Ontario for a Quebec based company. I didn't find it very useful in answering the questions I had, and missed alot of useful information that would have made a difference between refund and owing. Even after filing the mistake was not picked up.

2011 Turbo Tax
I find this application mostly useful. However, there is one area where I think it lets the user down. The child disability claim section is poorly architected and difficult to work with. Areas that should populate automatically do not and the overall experience in this section is not intuitive.

optimizer
This was purchased for the income splitting optimizer only as the basic met all my other needs. The split was easy except when I had to made changes to the return and found it very cumbersome to find the worksheet for the optimizer. Good thing I searched for it as it did change and the 'automatic' feature did not kick in. I could have done it manually as in previous years and spent less time searching!

Only one complaint
I enjoy using turbo tax, this is my second year using it and it is really simple to use. The only thing I had a problem with this year is that I was not able to see what amount I would be getting back for my rent, and when I would be receiving it. I think it should be set up like the gst/hst payments, where it gives you a payment schedule. Other than that, great!

FONT IS TERRIBLE

Just another tax program
Works as advertised.
Pain to activate and setup (same as previous years). Activation code is 21 digits long and can't be copied an pasted from the activation e-mail to the program. Enter your personal information at least 3 times (once to make the purchase, another to register the software, a third time to enter into the program).
No better or worse than any of the other programs out there.

After clicking on "give a review" the default settings for my home page were to be changed. Fortunately my virus program blocked that. I don't appreciate my computer settings being changed as it is very confusing for me.
Only problem I had with program was that we were doing a return for someone who is living on a trust fund - the only revenue is interest. turbo asks for income, she didn't earn anything. In the interest section it didn't apply. Is interest income or an investment? It wasn't clear.
Turbo certainly was easy to use. I'm just afraid that this return wasn't submitted correctly. i.e., interest or income.
Also, this page confuses me. I don't want to connect with other people, just answering your question "what's your opinion?"
But can't send this without rating you. Sorry it's so bad - the tax return was easy but am getting a little frustrated of having to dance your dance just to let you how it went. So your rating went down

easy but flawed
I've used Turbo-tax in the past and found it easy to follow and if questions came up, the help button answered them. The only thing that was upsetting to me was after all was entered I go to NETFILE only to discover it had a "not before date ". It would have been nicer to have a pop-up window warning of this issue prior to that point, like at time of update pop-ups. Otherwise no problems - good product.

its worse
I used to love the program for helping to adjust things like moving expenses from one spouse to another and also coming up with warnings based on last years return but I can't even toggle medical expenses from me to my wife to see difference. No depandent warnings and in fact I had to dig to add stuff like sports and arts credits that btw there wasn't any warnings for....I sware that AI will make this obsolite
