Cumbersome Application
Ongoing problems with application launching - requires me to skip home network and use phone hotspot - complete loss of security. The question process is not intuitive and does not advise what to have ready first. Save process is immature, as you have to exit one form to get data from another form, and then reopen the first (child's tuition for example). There should be a way to open simultaneous returns. Simply not what I expected this many years into service. Dropping quality every year.

This app tempts me to do it manually.
I can't help but feel like it's not all Turbotax's fault that this is a painful process. You need to petition the government to simplify this crap - regular people should be able to do their taxes manually and the app should be an added convenience. NO ONE should be required to do a course just to do their taxes - it's gotten ridiculous.

Downhill
Turbotax used to be good, but this year, it is very difficult to use the program. There is no way to contact help services to ask questions. As well, I am unable to Netfile from the Turbotax program. It looks like I will have to print it all off and mail it to Canada Revenue. What a bummer! I think I will download one ofthe 'free' tax programs. Several friends say they are better than expensive Turbotax.

Needs Major improvement for Investment reporting
Please fix your horrible interface for t5008's. The fields for description of each investment is too small and the window that it shows in cannot be expanded to show all the information at a glance. Also, there is no reporting that shows all the data that has been entered in these fields.

Un-necessarily complications
I'd like to see our governments working to dramatically simplify our tax code and tax filing to reduce the amount of time required to submit a return. Most tax information the CRA already has from T4s, T5s, RRSPs etc. Additional information can be much more easily submitted. For example, home based self-employment can have a simple standard deduction based on income.

Too many crashes, forms keep resizing by themselvs
Unstable product, especially considering money is involved. Numerous crashes and "can't continue" errors.
And why must the forms resize with huge blank areas instead of coming back the way they were set up?!

Tech bugs
I have used Turbo Tax for many years but this year's return was beyond buggy. Netfile insisted I had not filed last year's return, despite confirming that I had, so that I couldn't re-file my return. Tech support couldn't solve the problem and I couldn't Netfile the new return. So, I am paper filing, for the first time in 30 plus years.

I HAVE USED TURBOTAX FOR MANY YEARS BUT THIS IS THE FIRST YEAR IT GAVE ME SO MUCH TROUBLE. I HAD TO INSERT THE CD AND REINSTALL IT EVERY TIME I HAD CLOSED THE PROGRAM AND THEN TRIED TO GO BACK AND CONTINUE WORKING WITH IT. I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS BECAUSE YOU CHANGED IT AND IT HAD TO BE IN THE COMPUTER DRIVE FOR IT TO WORK, NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH PREVIOUS YEAR VERSIONS.

okay for very standard returns
Complications for me are that I left the country to work in the US this year and my wife worked as a contractor. Apparently these complications are too much for TT to comprehend. I guess its inconceivable anyone would move south to work, it's certainly too much to handle. Tons of errors relating to a US mailing address. Try to purchase audit protection? Too bad, need a Canadian address. It's just all in all quite bad for anything but a standard user, and at that point I wonder what value it's really adding over filing your return yourself? Would not recomend

How did TT get certified for NETFILE-ing TT1135?
There’s no way to have more than 3 rows in each category of the T1135 form. I had to buy a competing product just so that I can NETFILE a proper T1135. There have been complaints about this at least as far back as 2018 in Intuit’s support forums.
For more than a decade, I’ve been hoping each year that TurboTax will finally do something to make it easier to enter tabular data into forms — at the very least to let me copy and paste a row at a time from a spreadsheet. Each year I’ve been disappointed.

Glitchy
Glitchy, wouldn't let me select dependent to add deductions. Finally allowed me to after too long. Put in that I worked 40 days at home due to Covid but wouldn't automatically multiply by 2 for flat rate in forms section. I tried to manually put in number but it wouldn't let me do this either.

Tuition Issue
I tried to claim tuition fees but it wouldn't let me. I entered the amount where you had to then clicked "Done with T2202" or "Done with Tuition". It led me to another screen where I had to click either "Enter New Tuition" or "Done with Tuition." I clicked "Done...". It eventually led to a screen where it showed that I hadn't claimed it but I had an amount to transfer. I restarted my taxes 6 times before I decided to say "[SWEAR WORD] it! I'll just transfer the amount."

Not a product I would recommend. Quality is dropping year over year. This year (2020) they had a late update the broke the automatic import functionality. Also, software does not automatically convert foreign income to CDN (i.e. T3, T5, T5008) to save user time. Built in help is poor. Live chat or help from TurboTax need to pay a premium. I don't recommend this product.

Too Much too many
I think price is too high along with the number of returns I can complete. We are a retired couple and need only two, four would be fine to have two extra incase we mess up. However paying almost twice as much as the cheapest version, to get some added benefits is outrageous. I Could see perhaps $25 , because lets not forget there is tax for us mortals to pay as well

going down hill
After 12 years of using this program from intuit, I was very disappointed. Unable to copy forms, sharing files with spouse didn't match, commission could not be included with other income earned in the same company but always went to it's own separate business--where the expenses did not exist...because they were in the main business. Help on line took 2 hours of my work time 45 min on hold with terrible saxaphone music and then a pleasant polite worker who couldn't figure out any way to fix the problem... after taking me thru the same steps I had already tried for an hour... like turbotax is going to change it's "mood"... poor training and nowhere to go UP to find more info to help. This is critical information that has to be correct and up for any scrutiny. You can't be anything but perfect. Buck up!

Slow & Clunky
Very slow and frustrating to install and get started, no excuse for such poor set-up process these days!!

2 different Standard Packages
I bought one (unknowingly) without the CD and couldn't get it working. Trying to contact TurboTax for help was impossible. So I had to but a second Standard WITH the CD and finally, after alot of frustration, I was able to complete my tax returns.

Not happy this year
Have used this product since its inception and had great success. Last year went to the online version as that was what was available. This year went back to the CD version and the 2 were not compatible and once you start the CD process you can't access the online version. Can't believe that they wouldn't have thought of a fix for getting your info from the online site. Will be rethinking this for next year.

Lot's of issues with 2020 Standard
I have been using Turbo Tax for probably 20+ years. This year the downloaded version has so many issues when it comes to rev share between spouses that I have had to be on the phone with them for hours. I think they are neglecting this version in order to push you for the online version.

usually okay but hmmm
always have used quick tax or turbo tax. this year you dropped windows 7 without sufficient notice on your packaging. Also you should have a pop up each time asking if there is a previous tax year to import. I keep having to load it, it does not find it although it is in your home folder and named the way you left it
