new addition
The CD was complicated and I did not get to put in home use during Covid as it was not easy to find or review and called support and they we very uneducated on the Flat Rate feature after waiting 30 min for no assistance ONline had the simple questions to fillbut CD did not

Why does CTRL+A = (CTRL+A) + (CTRL+S) ?
CTRL + A selects all AND opens a Save As window at the same time. Who is trying to Save anytime they select all? It's weird, you know?
Seriously though, Importing my T-Slips from CRA was interesting. Just try it yourself and you'll see what I mean. The program freezes every now and then so be sure to use that cool CTRL+A saving technique to Save your progress.

Does not live up to expectations
I thought that Turbotax was supposed to be top of the line tax software. However, it was late in getting T1135 support and still does not handle someone holding securities for many countries well. Granted there are not a lot of people who need this, but this would be expected of top of the line software. I also had the problem that my daughters return would not Netfile. Phone support could not solve this problem

Could be a lot better, especially the CSRs
The program was more or less okay. It asked all the right questions, but for a piece of software that's been used and updated for so many years, I expected better.
The customer service, again for a second year was very bad. Unprofessional and rude. The CSR made me and my wife feel like they're doing us a favor to help us.

changes
do not like the way the changed the use of the softwear you have to use the simplified version and if you try to do your own forms etc they do not open correctly and you can not input expenses eg in the worksheets

Trouble
Out of 10 years I have been using Turbo Tax, this has been the most difficult, confusing and complicated year. Turbo Tax needs to stop changing what works well, for new programing.
It will only print every page even when you tell it to remove the blank pages.

HEADACHE
This program has been great for over 10 years but this year whatever you did made it an absolute headache. It took 2 days to get it working on latest windows 10 update.

meh
this is my 7th year witt turbotax, and the most frustrating. All was fine after the initial installation and update. When I opened TT the second time I was, again, prompted to download an update - and everything went to crap. It dragged to a virtual halt, non-stop server unavailable messages. I uninstalled and reinstalled twice without any significant improvement.
For the third uninstall/reinstall session i installed to a new folder (not the prompted path) and the response was back to the initial setup

Information on forms does not link to other forms
I use the Agristability forms and the optional inventory form does not link with the farm summary. I had to override the forms to enter my information and it was very frustrating having to look up forms instead of clicking the cell to get back to the appropriate form.

Worse tHAN PREVIOUS VERSIONS
I found the version for this year worse than previous. Filing both my wife's and my own to be much more difficult. Also the frequent request to sign up for either more services or other survey's to delay a simple return. I will change and use CRA's system next year.

pls fix
I have used turbo tax for years, however this year was very frustrating as it kept saying i had self employment income which i clearly marked and repeated i did not have self employment income. As a result i was unable to netfile my return.

Problem software!
I started getting problems early this year when the program update introduced bad codes. Your help desk was not on top nor was your information on your site as you were trying to hide the problem.
The program kept asking me to register my software. I reinstalled from the CD several times and then wit a copy from your site.

Software Bugs
If use Forms, I found several bugs like that of claiming dividends i.e. taxable, actual, and dividend tax credit are all added together which inflates actual value and is incorrect

A Manual is Needed
The lack of a manual is a major deficiency. The software is somewhat easy to use, but there is often a spot where what to do is not obvious. If Turbotax took the time to write a good manual, they would help users and would also likely discover ways that Turbotax can be improved.

Win10 Compatibility Issues
TurboTax 2020 download version experienced severe compatibility issues with Win10 and would not launch without ridiculous workarounds developed by the user community and shared in online forums. Despite years of good experience with this software, TurboTax was a fail in 2020. I will be looking elsewhere in 2021.

too many bad changes
You still insist on NOT allowing us to save our return at ANY step we want.
You still have not realized that anyone using netfile has ALREADY gone paperless, yet you dont have an option for that, YES or NO. Your NO has to include I ALREADY DID IT!
The new stuff at the end you just added asking if we are making any changes, how on Earth would we know that? Remove that new section, if we have filed through netfile we are done, let us exit in peace.

Too many bugs!
I have used turbotax for many years. This year seems to be the year of the bug. The program is not reacting properly when trying to print or netfile. I'm not sure what is going on with it.

Annoying
The program kept freezing and not following commands. Kept having a pop up that said server busy. We have used this program for years and have a qualified tax preparer in the house who has done taxes for 25 years professionally. Very unimpressed with the program this year.

Flawed
In the Foreign Income section, there is no indication which currency to enter in the income box. There is a box for the exchange rate but no guidance on which currency to use (foreign or Canadian). I used the exchange rate to calculate my foreign income into Canadian Dollars and have subsequently over-reported my income. Also, the software keeps pushing me to upgrade, which as my tax situation is fairly simple, I don't need. Will try an alternative software next year.

It doesn't catch everything.
I have used Intuit software for at least 10 years, probably longer. Prior to that I created a spreadsheet to mimic the tax form. The program was great and I could submit the form on line. BUT, each year it gets more difficult to use. 2 years ago I put information from a "T" form into the wrong box and got a late payment fine. last year I downloaded data from the CRA and all info went into the correct location. This year I spent some time trying to find that option and the data did not all go where it was suppose to. This year I found carbon tax on my personal review and Provincial info during my review. I always review the finished product but you better review it 3 or more times now. I don't trust it.

Repetition in Wrong Places
With all the numerous access codes NOW needed, doing taxes has become more tedious than ever. Turbo Tax doesn't readily print a copy of the bare minimum of pages needed for the government. It is a waste of time, paper and toner. Nor does it have the option to print on both sides of a sheet.
Even if a person has been ticked off for the Trillium benefit, somewhere iin its lengthy process, Turbo Tax has somehow removed the cheque mark for the ON BEN. Again The review it goes through before summitting is far too lengthy. It even didn't allow enough time to print off the page of approval from CRA. IT IS FAR TOO TIME CONSUMING AND THEN AUTOMATICALLY ELIMINATES THE NEEDED MATERIAL.

No support for new computer
Tried to load software on new Windows 10 laptop but would not load properly. Appears to be a common problem. After attempting multiple times and following recommended fixes without success, I reverted to an old laptop. Disappointed s/w was not tested properly.

Phoning it in
TurboTax felt lazy this year. New features (e.g., work from home credit) weren't intuitive. The recommendations provided were so irrelevant there is no way we would pay them to review our return. I don't think we'll use it again next year.

Accurate But Cumbersome
