Not as User friendly as in other years
Kept giving "error" code for missing info ie spouse's birthday with no where to enter the data. Repeated tries resulted in same "error" code. Consequently could not use NETFILE

Frustrated
I had to make changes to the amounts and it came back saying that I owed over $2000.00. So I went back to the beginning and deleted all the amounts and re-entered and now a refund of $98.00. A good thing I didn't believe the amount I owed. I am not a beginner but anyone else might have paid that amount. I was not impressed.

Misleading
It's extremely frustrating when you have barely entered any information into the program and it tells you that you are receiving $2000 back as a return. The system will keep saying $2000 until the very last screen when all of a sudden it will change to $900??? Maybe the refund calculation shouldn't appear until the very end. It makes me feel like I entered something wrong when my refund drops $1100 in one click.

buggy
although I entered all of my medical receipts, it only seemed to save the last one. As a workaround, I added them all up and modified the one that had been accepted.
Also, when I tried to print my returns, it was trying to print my 2017 returns, which I cancelled since I'm dealing with 2019.
Finally, I had to loaded the 2017 software onto my windows 10 computer so as to easily import the data for my family when doing my 2018 returns. I keep on getting an error message for the 2017 installation software. The 2017 software was initially loaded onto a windows 7 system. So perhaps it is not fully compatible with the windows 10 environment...

Fix Error
Keeps telling me I can't file because I did not advise of my spouse's birthdate. Yet the page it keeps sending me too does not ask for my spouse's birthday and there is no place to put it. Very disappointed this year with your product. It's also slow when hitting continue, sometimes you have to hit it 4-5 times to get the program to continue

Not such a good buy this year
I have used Turbtax for a number of years and have had no trouble with it. This year I had trouble installing it, had to install twice, and
my daughter couldn't netfile from her computer and had to send it to me to file. To open Turbotax on my computer it would take about four tries before it would open.

Not Impressed
I have used TT for several years. This year I needed some help because I kept getting an error that my spouses birth date was missing. The website was of zero help, and no help was forthcoming unless I wanted to pay over $50 for your service. NOT IMPRESSED. I will likely be using another tax preparation software next year.

Clunkiest TurboTax Yet!
Redundant data entry, automatic inclusion of a Senior's credit, brutal workflow in EasyStep process with no prompt to input T4 income, and crashed in accessing CRA web site to download Notice of Assessment. This was away and by far the worst implementation of TurboTax I have ever used, and will be looking for an alternative to this program for my 2021 taxes.

I used it many times to do my simple and basic returns in the past with no issues. This year CRA would not accept my Netfile return, despite reviewing it many times and even paying $60 for a TURBO expert to review it. I found that totally unacceptable.

Not nearly as good as past years
Seemingly doesn't suggest any ways to save or give any suggestions anymore. Will not purchase for next year as it took a lot of looking up information on my own to file this year. Also a few typos. Seems they have a different crew of people working on the programs this year.

Frustrated
Up until last year I had professional income--noted that as my last year of business. This year I could not netfile as my business fiscal dates were "incorrect" Had to go back to my profile and declare "no business income" this year in order to change the date to enable netfiling. Pages of blank pages printed...

Death & Pension splitting
Normally I am very happy with Turbotax, however, this year went very poorly. Because my wife died in this tax year, it was necessary to separate the two returns for some reason. This creates a massive headache for pension splitting. While Turbotax knows the date of her death, it does not import that into the splitting calculation. (number of months eligible) Therefore, you must over-ride numerous fields to input that data, as well as the required calculations on T1032. You must also over-ride spousal information fields regarding income and tax paid, even though this information is provided in other fields.
Also, because the returns are separated, you cannot use the splitting optimizer.
:You also cannot open two separate returns in one Turbotax session, and therefore require either continuous saving a .pdf, or two computers to complete the data transfer between the two returns.
These are things that I really didn't expect, and should be cleaned up. Otherwise, I have been very satisfied with the program up to now.

License Screen
Beyond belief how difficult it was to get past a blank white screen to enter my key, had to keep pasting and trying to approve it all over the page. Changes the resolution and scaling would reveal the screen but then I could enter the key. Just unbelievable that this wouldn't work properly on a "vanilla" Win10 device

Worse Yet
I have used Turbo Tax for many years, this is the first time I have a complaint. Often when I go in to use this years version it requires me to enter my product code again, often having me input the code a number of times prior to being able to use the program. Often when entered it does nothing but go back to my home page, then I have to try to open Turbo Tax again. This is very frustrating and time consuming. I will try Turbo tax again next year but if this happens again will use some other tax program to file my taxes. I also don't like that there is no phone number available to deal with this issue.

I tried to print my return several times and always get an annoying Tax Centre window popping up. I just want a physical copy for my records and this annoyance makes me wonder about using another product in the future. Printing should be a basic functionality.

Didn't work so well this year.
The application crashed 6 times while trying to import CRA data. The only way to get it to work was to open a fresh browser and log out and close it after importing one account while I opened another fresh browser to import my partner's info.

Confusing and Poor Quality Assurance
Filing taxes for a couple where one had no income and therefore owed no tax, the software kept trying to move charitable donations and medical receipts to the "lower income earner." While this is usually the best practice, in a case where "low" is 0, it's not. If we didn't know that, we would have lost money. Reviewing the forms in detail, the software presented invalid entry options for provincial deductions - deductions that were available in the past, but had been cancelled. We thought the Easy Steps had missed these, and entered values. Doing that caused the software to crash while saving, and we lost an hour's work. We did our own research, determined that the deductions were no longer valid, and assumed that was the reason for the crash. We re-entered everything except the invalid credits, and were able to save fine. There is no way to save your work - the software autosaves, but will not allow you to choose to save at a particular point in time. This is why we lost data due to the crash - the most recent save was over an hour old.

Program glitch with Caregiver Amount
On 2019 Standard edition there was an issue when trying to claim a DTC for a dependent but not claiming Caregiver amount. Despite trying numerous actions and calling support I had another 1 hour waster where T1 was unable to resolve and T2 wasn't either and had to wait back and forth since T2 seemed to be "multitasking" with other support issues.
