You are making it too difficult to navigate forward and backward. You put locks on my bookmarks and the link to find things interrupting the process of completing tax returns to try and force us to but your help and advice which should be free. This is the worst year ever and I will look elsewhere next year.

I feel like Turbo Tax was better in previous years, there were some things that were not defined. You had to google to figure things out. Information re. eligibility for deductions was also unclear. Very annoying that the software continually tries to upsell you on the version or additional services - many, many times throughout the process. It kept trying to tell me I needed the next level up, for reasons that did not apply to me. Confusing and concerning, I will likely go with a different software next year (after using Turbo Tax for the past few years).

Your software does not allow users to add additional lines to Part B of the T1135 Foreign Income Verification Statement. As a result you can only list 3 foreign stocks. Given that the likelihood of someone with more than $250,000 in foreign assets having more than 3 foreign stocks is very high, this means that basically anyone that needs more than 3 lines can't complete their T1135 through Turbo Tax. Instead I had to manually fill out and mail a paper copy of the T1135, which defeats the purpose of tax software. Worse yet, when I googled the issue I found out that this has been an issue for quite some time and that Intuit has just ignored the issue. I have used TurboTax for more years than I can count. I guess it is really just for people with small tax returns. Now that my returns have become more substantial I will have to change to a more legitimate company that is capable of filing my entire return.

There were numerous problems with the program: 1. The program closed without saving the information even though I had saved it! 2. Entered data wasn't saved 3. The program asked for self employment data even though it wasn't checked off. 4. Why is the Variable Pension income not shown?

Your program does not include NR4 forms used by The Gov´t of Canada for non-resident Canadians. Therefore the numbered boxes on your T4 forms do not match the numbered boxes on the NR forms. So, one has to guess what figures go in which box.

Don't purchase the Assist and Review option - you will start by answering a million questions then sit on the phone endlessly. If you key in for a callback it can't seem to register your number.

I have enjoyed using Turbotax for many years. This was the first year that I have had problems with it. Upon installing it on a new computer running W10, I was given an error message to do with installing C++. I searched the error online and it was suggested that the program would run and not to worry about the error. That is not very confidence building. The next step was to register the product. I tried many times over 5 or 6 days and each time was given the error "We're sorry, we have encountered an unforseen error. Failed to connect to database. Please try again later". It was never able to be resolved. I started a return and saved it. The next day I started to work on it again only to find that my file wasn't there. I looked for it with file explorer and found the file but it was 0 bytes. I ended up calling customer service and explaining the problem. I was told that because it was not registered, some features would not work and saving may have been one of them. I was able to register on the phone and was told that I wold be able to see all of the data in my file once I tried again now that the product was registered. It did not work. I had to start all over again. I saved often and had to check in file explorer that it actually did save. Occasionally I would save and the time stamp would not update indicating the file did not save. Multiple saves would correct that. If that is a problem with C++ then there should be a solution to correct it. The product worked great in the past. This year I was quite frustrated. Upon

Old program that has had minimal updates over the years. The "Easystep Method" is useful at times, but often gets in the way, especially when checking for errors, or "What did it do with this entry?" An on line copy of the tax guide (not just the "forms") would be helpful. Your "help" pages seem lacking in depth.

When I have a question, such as filing for a deceased person, I find the "help" community totally out to lunch and they give only half-answers. The program said right when I entered the date of death, you cannot use Netfile for the deceased. So why waste my time telling me that I can't Netfile when I am trying to find out why I cannot print a copy that doesn't have DUPLICATE written all over it.

Ive been using this program for a few years, with basic income tax issues (T4, RRSP, child support). But in 2019, i became unemployed, and this program erroneously guides one on the credits available. I had to manually force the forms to be correct, and as a result, could not netfile.

If you used the online version last year, do not buy the Standard PC version this year or you will need to manually enter all of your personal details. Intuit has all the info online, but has not designed the PC version to go and get it.

The amount of paper generated when printing a copy of my return is crazy. Forms and general crap gets printed. I do not need an explaination of the climate refund etc. I just want a bare bones copy of what was sent to cra.

This version has some serious bugs. Error messages that are not correct, downloading of data error prone. This year is worse than previous years version. I am not sure about purchasing next year and I have been a more than 10 year customer.

Using Turbo tax for number of years because my husband heard it was good. Every year problems getting QC returns to calculate properly. Examples include Releve slips, transfer of taxes to QC. This can be serious with RQ. Last year huge issue with RQ about instalments payments. Wonder if other QC residents have issues.

This wasn't as intuitive as in previous years. Some of the phrasing was ambiguous and unclear. For example the sale of property - I had no idea what that was asking me. Was it a question? Was it telling me I'd sold my house and needed to make a payment? No idea. It was not easy to find where to import your tax info from previous years, and once you had started your return, you couldn't import that info after the fact without starting over. Not very impressive compared to previous years. I will probably pay someone else to do my taxes after my experience this year.

Letters are too small. I have difficulty reading them and filling in the numbers. There is no way I can expand the letters to make them easy to read.
Having carried forward information from prior years is the only reason I have not switched to UFile.

Help in this software is poor. If you are not a familiar with tax law then you are likely to make errors. Forms generate if you open them and print although they do not apply. Printing only single sided even though it is only a copy for your own files.Specifically T1135 will not process properly if end of year amounts are zero. I know what to look for. OK not great.

15 years of using but I am starting to think it would be cheaper and easier to go to an accountant. $40 to buy, $40 for Audit defence, $55 to have it reviewed? Wouldn't it be easier to go to a tax agency and have them review it!?! When I started using this program, help was better and you could ask someone for FREE help to clarify. Now I have to search and then receive legalese to decipher unless I want to pay $55 for "Live Advice". Not as useful as it once was. If you have a very basic return buy this, but if not, save yourself some time, money and aggravation by getting a professional to do it for you. I would be very surprised if I found myself using this again next year.

Easy to use but it doesn't cover enough tax breaks

Much trouble entering rental income and never could enter prepayments so had to submit my return without and hope it gets fixed by CRA
