Hardest Time Ever
I have used TurboTax for many, many years (used to be QuickTax), and this year`s edition was the most difficult to use of any of them, or maybe the buggiest. I still haven`t managed to register the product because it crashed every time I tried, after having entered all of my info (and it didn`t remember it for the next try).
Last year, not knowing any better, I used the online edition. This year when I went back to the downloaded version I had to enter all of my information from scratch; there was no provision for importing the previous data. Not from online, and not from the numerous previous years of files that I had on my computer. This was very disappointing. Come on intuit, we expect better from you than this!

some submenus not working
Was not able to use the easy form to input RRSP info. Clicking the button took me to a help screen. This happened on another form that I can't recall too.

Crashes on netfiling
Turbo Tax application crashed on net-filing, while it indicates i have used a return, no confirmation of it actually filed. Now left to figure out if actually filed or if I need to redo the file to netfile/ or paper file current file!!!

INDUSRTRY CODE ERROR
Try to enter Industry Code from gov web site or the link provided. Will not accept. Turbo tax answer is to erase whole business profile info and start over. That is too long to redo. I now have to mail it in during Co virus 19.

Disappointed this year
I've liked this product for several years. This year it said I had a refund when in fact the assessment said I owed. The CRA person said that the program must be wrong. That's the first time this has happened. I like how the info can transfer from year to year but I don't know if I would get it again next time.

Not great this year
Transferring tax info from previous years was not an available option this year. We waited a few weeks to see if an update would fix it but it did not. Also could not register our product online, error message everytime.
Aside from those 2 issues it is a standard product from easy returns. I'm not sure that I would buy it again, will perhaps see what other products are available next year.

Good but Frustrating
The program was easy to use and produced accurate returns. I was very happy with that. However, it was not without it's frustrations. Every printed page of the preparer's copy of the tax return has a massive watermark scrolled across the entire page saying "DUPLICATE DO NOT SEND BY MAIL". The problem with this is that depending on the printer, the watermark printing will be anywhere from grey to black. Mine turned out black which obliterated a lot of the content of the return itself, making it illegible. Very frustrating! Also, TurboTax filing instructions don't always agree with the Tax Guide. For instance, TurboTax says to mail in charitable receipts while the Tax Guide says to keep them. TurboTax needs to be more attentive in their updates. If it was not for the watermark problem, I would have rated TurboTax 4 stars.

Error codes overload
First year that I received so many error codes. Then there are suggestions at the end the go no where and are not relevant. Not sure what I will use next year, but 3 hours to fix error codes is much too long.

not intuit-ive
I have been using UFile the last several years. I just tried turbotax for the first time. I did not find turbotax easy to follow along between myself & spouse, our entries were often jumbled together and the reason for the particular entry was whitewashed...it wasn't specific. . Nothing stood out as better than ufile. I will be returning to ufile next year.

Too many entries are not clear such as medical expenses. If a person chooses to enter all combined ,it doesn't give a space for entering duration such as 01/01/2019 to
31/12/2019. when I first started, I had couldn't save my work if I decided to take a break.For some reason it started to work.

CRA Import Issues & Value for Software
CRA Import is being done via TurboTax's servers, not directly by downloaded TurboTax software. This is a privacy and security risk.
Further, not all information supplied to CRA was actually downloaded.
For software that I'm using for 1 time once a year, the price charged to have the software on hand to review the return in the future is REALLY high. There is only really value if you are doing multiple returns.

Errors
for some reason, numbers that are carried forward are corrupted. Because it is only on the carry forward sheet you appear not to want to correct your error. When entering data for spouse, again you get an error -- and appear not to want to fix it. Reply yes to close open forms before print, and some don't close --- waste of paper -- I have used your product for close to 20 years -- will have to think twice about next year if you do not improve quality control

unable to register
I tried several times to register my Turbo tax product and the error I got was that the database was not available. This was tied over 3 days, finally called Turbo tax, they could not find me in the system even though I have used Turbo tax for over 5 years and the individual was hard to understand and did not have the authority to register me. She said her 'higher authority' had to do it. I never did receive a registered confirmation

some forms not working
When information is transferred previous return, some of the forms does not allow changes with the new information. When a return is filed for non-residents the forms do not allow entering information in currency other than US.

Very unstable / No Support
Having used Turbotax, and Quicken and the previous Quicktax for years - I found this year's product Very Buggy. Wife's return after transferring had a $21 MILLION dollar RRSP contribution room, Support lines were supposed to be open - but they weren't, CRA import worked on mine, then not on wife's - Could not save work MANY times throughout process. Uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted and re-transferred returns - Not a happy customer

turbo tax optimizer does not work at all
it recommends the opposite person than the correct one
only if you check tax payable and correct error will you get the best result

Far more glitches this year
I've used Turbotax for years, and the 2019 version crashed and burned far more times than I can remember. Autofilling didn't work well, I couldn't always even enter data into the T1 (e.g. language of choice froze on me), and the program itself crashed numerous times. It was next to impossible to register, so I skipped that altogether. At least Netfile worked relatively seamlessly.

Past its prime - Intuit needs to refocus
I have been using TurboTax for a very long time - since it was called Quicktax even! The past few years, the bugs, quirks in the interface, the UGLY interface, and practically BEGGING customers who already PAID for your product repeatedly as you run through the return to spend even more money for services of questionable value... guys, it SHOWS you are milking your reputation. Where has your innovation, and quality gone? This might be my last year using TurboTax - there's just too many options as good or better out there now.

Unfixed bug in TurboTax 2019
There is a bug in TurboTax 2019 regarding tuition transfer for NB users. TurboTax doesn't transfer the provincial portion of tuition potentially resulting in a lower tax return for the parent claiming the tuition. Despite being aware of the situation for many weeks and promising a fix, nothing has been done as of March 21, 2020. Very disappointing.

Something has changed?
I have been using this software for longer than i remember. But this year, the software spent an inordinate amount of time "(Not Responding)"! I don't know what was changed in the coding or back-end? Some issues with filing using NetFile
I ran into a bug when trying to file - CRA returned a Code: #513. Called the support and they couldn't help. Apparently there is a bug in the software.
After the call, I tried to submit it again and that time it seemed to work, though it would not let me get my SOA... So hopefully it worked correctly.
