Stupid print function!
Had a very simple return and when I printed it kicked out over 40 pages of schedules I don't need. Spent more on paper and ink than I did the program. Dumb.

refund amount suddenly changed
I had fnished entering info and when printing the form for my records, before sending to CRA, the refund amount lowered by $300, without me doing anything, it was just TurboTax action.

Used to work fine but...
this latest update is not letting us save things. We have plenty of space but we are still getting error TT401. We tried using the 'save as' option, but it won't let us actually click it, so we will have to reinstall it and enter all our information again :(

Very confusing
I had considerable trouble with Pension Splitting optimiation-double entries for unknown reason, failure to optimize. Aslo had trouble with capital tax related entries. Wouldn't split some investments between my wife and I, double entries. Couldn't access on line support via the Turbo Tax program and that was then shut down on 1 April so late filers like me couldn't get support after that date

counter-intuitive
Turbo Tax allows you to easily move from step to step BUT at the end, it's not entirely clear that you've filed. It doesn't remind you that you haven't filed yet. A notice appears saying "do you want to file another return?" before you have filed the one you're working on. Frustrating.

2018 Worst Turbo-Tax Ever
I have used Turbo-Tax for at least the past six years and have never had a problem until this year. Inputting a T4A, only part of the tax was registered. The rest of the tax somehow registered on my wife's return. Unsuccessfully I tried to erase or move the amount. There is no support from Turbo-Tax.

problems with 2017 version
I have been using TT for many years and have been totally satisfied, however the 2017 Standard version download keeps freezing up and is terribly slow. Took me 4 times as long to do a return as it has in the past.

unbelievable
because I chose to split our donations between my spouse and I, it created an error that turbo tax would not allow the returns to be submitted through netfile. This is my choice, a recommendation by turbo tax but not an error for netfile. You have cost me money!!!

Used to be better
Long time user. Usually a big fan. Noticed strange bugs this year and glitches. Some ambiguous answers in the help topics. Over all left this year feeling like much less like a fan an more likely to try something else next year

Generally this is my go to product but next year I will have to think longer on what to purchase. While the product interface has improved the support for Quebec tax preparation in the software has really gone downhill

First year with complaints
Used TurboTax for many years this was the first year I had any issues. Couldn't update directly, connection to CRA for tax documents was unsuccessful no matter how many ways I tried. I have been a long time customer and this year I was more than a little disappointed.

BUG FIX
For some reason, stuck in a loop once submitted to CRA. Can't get past the rating page. After 8th time, decided to rate the program. GET THE BUG FIXED. Now going to try to finish.

Could not find the right industry code. I spent over an hour on hold with CRA to finally get the right code. All TurboTax gave me was an error message and a link to a page that doesn't exist.

Confusing, poorly programmed, and misleading
Possibly the worst version of Turbotax yet. Changing screens causes the view pane to lose focus, field focus is lost when alt-tabbing, the same question on similar screens (e.g. Caregiver and Dependant) are worded in opposite ways ("I was" vs "I was not"). I specifically paid extra for the Standard version due to the "Carries forward all info from previous return" claim - which is a COMPLETE LIE. It is unable to read any of the output from the previous year, and the UI elements mentioned in the PDF import DON'T EXIST.
If my post office still offered the paper forms it would have been easier and faster to do with a pencil.

2018 VERSION TURBOTAX
THE 2018 VERSION IS NOT USER FRIENDLY. SEVERAL TIMES I WENT TO THE CRA FORMS TO GET MORE INFORMATION. THE SOFTWARE APPEARS TO BE SET UP TO GET THE MOST FOR THE CRA.
I AM NOT A TAX CHEAT BUT I DO TRY TO GIVE AS LITTLE OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY TO THE GOVERNMENT.
NEXT YEAR I WILL GIVE SERIOUS THOUGHT TO USING A DIFFERENT TAX PREPARING SOFTWARE THAN TURBO TAX

So frustrating
I purchased the online codes from costco but could not get them to work. after 2 calls (with almost 2 hour wait-time) i had no help to resolve. i repurchased the cd, which is not compatible with a MAC. loaded to another computer and the online version did not sync with the cd version. all amounts entered were the same. i give up. used turbotax for years but this may be my last year. incredibly frustrating.

Worst version ever
I have used Turbo Tax for many, many years. This year I purchased the "Standard" version as usual. This year for the first time it would not import my information from last year's return. As a result, I had to retype in all the information and probably some information will have gotten lost - like carry forward losses from previous years. I will definitely be looking at other tax software for doing my 2019 return.

2018 Bad Year to use TURBO TAX
T-slips & receipts were copied to Quebec slips which had to be overridden to remove the amounts on the Quebec slips. I restarted anew with the same results Frustration with the TT600 & Abomination shutdown errors

All CRA ? answers should include Field or Box # to input info

No real improvements in ten years
I can't believe how archaic this program is. Copy commands don't work. Data entry is not the same as presented on information slips. In some cases data can not be entered. Negative values are not accepted in some fields. Summary data is located in hard to access locations. Help for a simple thing like "country code" did not help!

I couldn't find the number to call for phone support. Turbotax wouldn't accept the industry codes listed on CRA website for extra income I needed to declare. As a result, I had to mail my return through Canada Post. Was very disappointed with this year's product.

Disappointed
I have been using this product for many years. Never have I had so many problems. From loading the cd, to trying to file. Error messages, not able to update within the program and having to constantly check at the external site, skipping the Northern Living, even though it was checked in easy step and the travel benefits are not set up properly. It says right on your t4 not to enter the amount on the t4 form, yet turbotax gives you an error message if you don't. How many times must i say I didn't sell my house this year. The ridiculous amount of unused forms printed, even though i checked the "close unused forms' I think 5 pages reguarding the non-sale of my house.
You've got some improving to do Turbo tax, missed the mark big time this year.

Problems with TT
TT carried forward my 2017 RRSP Deduction limit but it was input automatically into a field which was RRSP contributions carried forward! THis is a huge problem as it affects net income and it also automatically deducted that entire amout from my 2018 income.
This is an issue as I did not enter anything into T-Slips for RRSPs and it only showed up when I was Netfiling. It gave me false results and implied my refund was much higher. I spent 2 hours over two phone calls with TT staff on two phone calls (not counting waiting time on the phone) and with CRA for almost an hour to get my account unlocked because of the rejected filings. It has also reduced my wife's refund which was already filed! This year's version of TT is a big problem. I would not recommed it to anyone who has any RRSP contribution limit carryforward.

Just OK
Ok, but problems. Broken link for NAICS codes, double counted dividend income when I manually entered form T5 with turbotax standard - the error might be on purpose to get me to upgrade which is poor if I am correct - and poor if I am not. I left the error in my return for CRA to fix. Price is expensive especially if I had to upgrade to Premier.
