Needs improvements
There are too many questions that have to be answered more than once. After it installs updates, it asks if I want to check for updates again. Every time I open the return it asks if I want to register, when I already did. If you know my age, why do you ask if I want to claim a senior credit and have a warning about senior eligibility? I gave my address and answered that I live in Northern Ontario, but there is a warning that I might not. I answered that I didn't sell property, but it asks again in warnings. I had too many medical receipts than I needed, but it won't tell me how much to delete to reduce the tax payable to zero. I saved the returns, then the next page asks me if I want to save it. How many times do you have to ask if my wife and I lived apart? If you imported last years return, why do you ask if this one is a first time return? I answered that I didn't need to file a previous years return, but it shows up in warnings. Using a computer program should alleviate these shortcomings. It diminishes the credibility of the program and has me wondering how well a job it has done.

Technical Problems
I requested that forms I didn't need were not printed. On all tax returns I did they were printed. I put no tax on split income and not only did it still showed up, but the 7 sheets also printed on all the returns that I did. I changed two items on data carried forward from 2017, but they still showed up. One caused an extreme credit that I was no longer able to claim (Disability Amount for self). I had to correct that myself. If I have to correct all these issues than it might just be worth completing taxes without this program. It sure would take a lot less time. I have an auditing background and used to completing many different tax situations so these issues shouldn't be happening.

Same problem as usual
everything was good until it came to printing a copy of my taxes, the paperwork I received was all totally new, as in never seen before and I really didn't need 15 pages with the words " DUPLICATE DO NOT SEND BY MAIL". In other words ALL the paperwork printed is GARBAGE.

did not import previous information from prior tax
i was expecting to have the same functionality as previous versions of this software, which i have been using for over 25 years. My information from previous years was not offered to be imported into the new files, consistently trying to send me to the CRA website, which I tried, but did not have an option for a password reset and try as I might, i could not create an account. Although I have been using this same software for many years, now that it I have to enter my personal information, dig into old files to find items such as RRSP limit, i am unimpressed and may as well try something new next year

NOT worth the money
Poor value to cost, intentionally limited in scope and ability, charge for services that competitors provide for free, ride on laurels of previous "successes", shill for unnecessary services *if* the product works as advertised

A process without an end
Good to scan through. When you get to the end it asks if you want to file another return. Selecting "no" sends you back to a change/refile process that inevitably seems like an endless loop. No idea whether I have filed or how I send my money to CRA. Disappointing.

Dissappointed with 2018 Version
The 2018 Turbotax version was incomplete and not ready with changes to certains forms needed by CRA , specically with Netfile, which didn't allow for submission as early as possible.
Turbotax should have put enough resources to complete necessary form changes to be ready on first day people can file using Netfile.
Effected level of customer service towards users.

Long time user - disappointed
I've used Turbo Tax for over 6 years and the 2018 release has been the worst experience I have had. I get the impression this years software was rushed, "phoned-in" or intentionally degraded to encourage purchase of premium products. They clearly conducted little to no user testing before releasing. For example - explanations of new requirements are not clear (I needed to resort to using google to find answers/clarity); there were inconsistencies within the program (stating possible deductions in one section, then later saying those deductions no longer exist); and grammatical errors throughout.

TT403 ERROR
Usually I would rate it 5/5 but this release is unfinished and contains bugs. Two out of 3 files had to be re-done because of TT403 error. Frustrating and time wasting! Suggestion for future improvement: It should have a "SAVE AND CONTINUE LATER" button on all screens!

Too many Glitches this year
I have used Turbo Tax for over 10 years and this year it is very glitchy. When completed for one return and wanting to start a new return it just sends you into a loop of confirming and saving the first return. Skip reviews sent me to the review page.
Starting new return from top (dropdown menu) did not give me the option to retrieve info from 2017 returns.
Overall it was not a good experience this year compared to what I have come to expect and will likely try a different program for my 2019 tax returns.

Proceed Cautiously
While Turbotax seems to be accurate, what it truly lacks is a decent user experience for anyone doing anything slightly more than processing T4's. This is the least intuitive tax return of the 4 of five that I have used in the past. I think from a graphical user interface (which is really the customer experience) Turbotax is sadly lacking in an intuitive design. Navigation isn't as easy as other tax preparation programs and while there are some 'tips' to guide you... in places where you would expect a tip - there is nothing.... Highly unlikely I'll use Turbotax again...

Regretful Purchase
I have used this program for so many years I can't remember. This is the worst year in history. The end of the program is full of bugs and won't let you save a PDF file or print a copy. It says there is an update but won't update. Keeps telling you that you need the final version but won't download the update. A real poor job for the money.

Disappointed, should of used free
I had a question about the wording of one of the tax credits, I called in, and they told me I needed to pay more money to receive any kind of guidance. I thought part of the reason for paying for the standard version was they offered assistance when needed. Getting the free one next year, as I always have.

2 weeks TT, really?
Program is fairly easy to use, kind of a bear to go back and change things. Overall decent program. 2 weeks from the submit date? I figured TT would have things ready to go for the submit date.. next year perhaps ill wait until after the submit date to buy my program just incase this is an issue again.

Not happy that after you commence the program it has upgrades. This should be included in advertising and specified at purchase or initial log in to the site. People should be be charged to pay taxes or file taxes regardless of income because it is mandatory.
