Not Impressed
I have always bought turbotax to do my returns. This year I am very disappointed in the fact that I cannot netfile any returns until you have your program updated. Next year I will be looking for a different program !!

It works, but it's not great
These guys must make so much money off this software. They keep selling it without putting any new effort into it to make it better. I assume that they keep it up to date, but you get the opposite impression as you go through the software. In some places they haven't updated things in many years and it's badly out of date. For example, they warned me that the CRA is going to stop sending people refund cheques in April of 2016. Hello, it's 2019! They also mention deducting transit passes off your income tax. That ended a couple years ago if I'm not mistaken. They also give me warning messages that don't apply to my situation in any way. They could do so much better with this software if wanted to.

Not Impressed
I have always filed my returns when the system opens every year. This year I am getting an unclear issue with forms and not being ready. This is ridiculous and will affect whether I purchase the program in the future.

Confused
You purchase a program to do your taxes and you cant file because the forms are not up to date and you have to keep checking back, don't sell until it can be used!

Too general in Nature
In doing taxes for a 100 year old person with minimum income program still wants to upgrade to more expensive program! Also does not modify questions to suit the tax payer profile. Find the program outdated and cumbersome to use.

Ease Of Use
I don't think Turbo Tax lives up to my expectation because it seams to ask the same questions over and over again and I though that the program would ask me for all my tax information so I would enter it the program would do the rest. It should be the same as me giving all my papers to an account and he does the rest.

Hard to use
Doing our income tax this year was difficult with Turbo tax due to my husband's death in 2017. The carry over of his RRSP to me had me owing over 80,000.00 in tax. I am now having to pay someone to figure out what went wrong. Would not recommend this product if you are filing for a deceased partner. If everyone is alive the product is excellent.

Its ok
we found that doing taxes for married or separated spouses was confusing. They need to fix this area up. Otherwise, was straightforward. BUT, me and three others used this program and all three got reassessed for larger refunds. Thus, I question whether this program is working at peak performance.

Frustrating
This program kept giving me warnings about disposing my principal residence and when I was ready to file my return it still said I did not declare the sale of my principal residence. I am a 21 year old young man who lives at home with his mother. I do not pay rent and I HAVE NEVER owned a home of my own and yet I still continued to received this warning. In addition, even after I mark that none apply to me I was still taken to a form to complete for union or professional dues. It was frustrating and confusing.

am totally disillusioned
why have you made this product so user 'unfriendly'?
up until this year, when preparing business taxes for my husband (self-employed trapper), when the program stated it had the option to override a field by using the F3 key, it worked. Not for 2017! I rely on this feature as the self-employed portion of my husband's income needs to allow me to be able to claim his fuel expenses at 100% - he is not a trucker, nor does he maintain a mileage log in what he does. In order to be able to make the override possible, I had to research issues others were finding and use the easy step process, which was literally a waste of valuable time, effort and very VERY frustrating. I will not be using this program next year - I am an experienced tax preparer and am very disappointed. Previously, I always recommended your product

In my taxes a warning for the T1135 came up, I don't own property, but thought I hjad to check one of the boxes as it was a warning. I was unable to delete this or edit this and had to submit with false information. Now I will have to phone and have CRA correct this error.

will never use again!!
I could not finish our returns with turbo tax and had to use another program because Turbo tax can't do a T5008 it can't process a value with a decimal, the field demands a date value where the number of investments goes Help is also NON EXISTANT

This year is the worst version of your product!
It failed to operate properly on 3 different windows 10 computers.... Script error at least 2 per page.....Very poor program this year..... Should be fairly easy to add new yearly changes and not corrupt the installation files...

this year was terrible every page had script errors and there was no fix. I will think twice before spending money on such a terrible program again. The tax part is good and its easy to use, but the errors are not acceptable.

Other years I felt that I got fairly good value for my purchase of Turbo Tax and it worked on a Average for what I needed. This year was a disaster, perhaps I was using the wrong version- - - it did keep popping up that I should use the Premium Version but WHY?

Weak Guidance
This program is just okay. It doesn't give you effective guidance to decide whether a credit applies to you or not. Years ago, they had common questions on each credit or deduction listed along the side. This was really helpful because your question was usually listed. I've been frustrated over the explanations for medical expenses in terms of inputting a total versus specific dates. Even the screen for property taxes isn't clear about inputting the information under only one person. I've used Turbo tax for many years now and can honestly say that the quality of the program has gone down over the years.

Frustration
While the actual Turbo Program helped me save money by completing several family members' tax forms instead of sending them to an accountant, I encountered a very frustrating glitch which affected every single entry!!! Each time I had to switch pages a screen popped up indicating "An error has occurred in the script on this page/ Line 4/ char 2/ error: automation can't create object/" etc. I had to click "Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? Yes/No" every time and often even when clicking on "Yes", I was still required to wait over night before I could work on it again as the screen froze on the error notice. Needless to say this was a teeth-gnashing, hair-pulling exercise of frustration, but since I had input all my personal information on the first return, I didn't want to return the program to get a new one, as who knows who would look at my private information, then. I will buy a different product next year as I sure don't want to go through this awful experience again.

Frustrating
I found this year's version frustrating, at times. The program said it saved my return, but didn't. Once I finally submitted the return, and I got a confirmation number, Intuit kept looping back to "review" and "submit". I finally had to just close the program - it didn't take me back to the program like it did in previous versions.

Not what it used to be
While it is still relatively user-friendly and generally functional, the number of bugs and other annoyances seems to be increasing every year, with few ever actually addressed.
Errors in summary pages, wonky warnings, inclusion of completely unused and unneeded forms, inability to register online, and randomly appearing pop-ups that won't go away are among these glitches, and they combine to make the product seem amateurish at times.
It seems like Intuit is cost-cutting on both development and testing, and it shows. It's still a decent product for the money, but as someone who has been using QuickTax/TurboTax since the last millennium, I am disappointed that Intuit is no longer committed to excellence, and I will be looking at the competition for next year.
