Technical Difficulties
Usually filing return using Turbo Tax is a flawless process. However due to connectivity issues, it wasn't smooth. (Not sure if it was CRA or NetFile or Turbo Tax 2017 architecture)

Netfile is broken
Today is last day to file CRA return but Netfile option is still "greyed out". No updates available for the software. Very disappointed. Will look at other options for next year.

2017 Program
This product is not of the quality that you would expect from Intuit. In the help area, you get to see what other people asked. I don't want to see their questions, I want answers to my immediate questions. Several areas including this one took several tries to access.I did end up talking with a representative named Karen who answered my questions and was very helpful.

Frustrating!
I installed TT 2017 and shared the disc with a familly member who lives an hour away. I completed our returns only to find out that the "feature" of printing the returns was not available unless I reinserted the disc. FAIL!
Last year I used TT 2016, and completed most of out returns and saved them for later completion pending the remainder of our tax receipts. When I tried to complete our returns that were in progress, I was unable to open one of the returns. Allegedly it had been password protected. At no time had we password protected that file, and I had to enter our returns from scratch. FAIL!
Good thing Turbotax is cheaper than having a professional do your taxes, because it's wasted too much of my time.

TurboTax Standard
The reviewing process is very annoying. Every time I opened saved rental property form, the TTS would clear some of the information.
It also changed my name to XXX just before I filed it. I'm very disappointed.

Why I would not use this next year
When you do not understand the acronyms used, the help section should not only explain the problem in easy understandable terms, there should also be a straight forward example of how to properly enter an asset

Trepidation and Frustration
I found Turbo Tax to be less tailored than in the past. For instance, when asked about a certain situation I would indicate "no" and then I would be asked to fill out information that would only be relevant if my answer was "yes", so why was I asked in the first place?

Turbo Tax Standard
Generally good, but a few glitches and not as simple to use as it should be. It does not keep your name highlighted so if you are completing for a married couple, sometimes you can fill in the data into the other individuals tax return.

"script issue"
Obviously quick to use, and I like the warnings at the end. However, clearly an issue with "scripts" as ever time I hit "next" it had to tell me some of the scripts were not working. Please fix it.

Unhappy
The help is like a loop that does not really answer the question. Should have better directions especially in reference to education credits taken outside of Canada. The help seems to only want to push you to CRA answers which are vague and unhelpful. Very unclear on investments outside of RRSP's.

Not the best
Everything went well except for my RRSP contributions. It put my unused contributions from previous years as a deduction and when I got that sorted out it still had my deduction as double what it is. Still working on that.

Difficult load
Other years the program had loaded up easily and I could start using it right away. This year, although I was using the same computer, it kept giving me error messages. I had to search the internet forums to find a fix and then Turbotax had to load supporting programs before it would work. The process took hours of my time. The startup of the product should be seamless to the customer.

Poor instructions. Advised incorrect industry code yet does not advise where and how to find industry codes.
No indication number of pages to print.
Advised could not Netfile as personal info different from last year but does not advise what the differences are.

script errors in 2017
I bought the boxes CD version and after the updates, there were constant pop-up errors saying script error. The two options, Yes or No, to fix this error, did not. So after pressing yes once, then it pop up again, and press no, and it pop up again, you just keep pressing until it disappears.

Too many irrelevant information
The app tried too hard to sell their service. It's outright annoying. Filing tax is hard enough, and the easy steps have to go through so many sales pitch. There should be an option to turn off all the sales pitch.

Oops, forgot to mention that at the beginning
What happens to the data I input for "travel insurance premiums"? Is it under Medical Expenses, because it covers that? Didn't know how to deal with it and TT provided no information. Program crashed 3 times trying to connect with CRA. Had to re-input ALL personal data every time because TT didn't automatically save it.

Disappointing
As compared to my previous years of using Turbo Tax which were positive and intuitive, I found that 2017 was far from intuitive. Information entry was not clearly identified in the forms. The Help menu was non functioning and disappointing. Will I use it next year, not without assurance that the program flows logical progressions.

Unhappy Taxpayer
I am rapidly changing my mind about Turbo Tax. It is not very user friendly, as some parts are difficult to find. You finish the Federal return and there are no directions to Provincial. I was not happy when I tried to print, for me, I had difficulty with my printer and netfile disappeared. I am now having to gather myself to get the.mail copy together. I still have to print a copy to file. I have used Netfile for many years and find it very useful.
