Great Product -- Back in the '90s
TurboTax continues without any moderization since it was QuickTax and an 800x600 screen resolution was high-res. On modern screens the icons are miniscule and the type is often hard to read (kudos: this year you can increase the type size on forms.) Ironically, the new optimizer screens are too big and swamp the screen.
Netfiling is easier this year.
The optimizers are better.
The review is not as annoying but phrases like "are you eligible for a 20(11) deduction" are not helpful.

What's up with the last part?
After the returns were done, the s/w seemed to go around in circles, with asking about printing or saving the returns, rating the s/w, and there didn't seem to be a way to log out. Really weird and very frustrating. Eventually took this ratings page and will now just x out.

Annoyed
too many screens, too much up selling, too many glitches.
I have been using this product for years and every year I say it will be my last and then someone buys me a copy - I think this will be my last year though - for sure. The program was better 8 years ago than it is today.

not good for paper filling
This program did not allow me to print the T1 form for my wife without the "DUPLICATE" banner. I was very annoyed and had to download the T1 form from CRA and fill it myself. Unbelievable. Too much automation that does not work.

Too Many Script Errors
Used the basic at first then had to upgrade to standard to add med receipts. Had script errors all the way through the process. Checked to see how to correct it and the only info was for windows xl and 8. Where is the info for 10? Will think twice befor doing the purchase next year. Might just get an tax person. Cost will be about the same anyway.

Unreliable
Found that taxes owed/refund amounts continually changed even though the information entered hadn't. Sometimes I would be getting a refund and without any change I would suddenly be having to pay.
Often this would follow an update, but not necessarily.

Frustrating
Clicked on "No" the taxpayer did not sell their place of residence; however no matter if I imported in last year's information for them or did it manually; it still came up with the warning that they sold their primary residence. Very annoying. Installed the software 5 times to see if it would correct it; but no luck. Not impressed -- first time in 7 years using this product that I am not impressed with the glitch

Script Error
Downloaded an update at the outset which resulted in having to click through a 'Script Error' message on every page. Wasted a ton of time. Couldn't resolve the issue so had to simply ignore it and carry on. Very frustrating!!!

Not User friendly
The help feature is not easy to find answer in some case never could fined the answer in Turbo Tax. Many fields when filling out forms will not let you change one digit.
Why waste ink on printing colored icons on forms.

Disappointing, as usual
I get TurboTax sent to me automatically every year. But lately I have found that there are bugs with the software. CRA makes corrections every year. Despite asking the software to delete unnecessary forms, they are still being printed. By this time of year the software bugs should have been corrected. Next year I may try a different brand of tax software.

Good tax program too many built in ads
Program is easy to use, very straight forward and allows you to go back if you forgot something. Tips along the way are not really helpful unless it is your first return. The built in ads are annoying as I paid for the program. If you want to put in ads I suggest making the product free and then paying customers will not be annoyed by the onslaught of additional ads.

Works but can be better
Turbo Tax allows you to go through the different forms required to file your taxes and helps well, however, there are many inefficiencies in this software. Your name and other information is not auto-populated in fields and you need to constantly type it out when filling out expense forms. The application froze at the final step when printing after asking for the CD.

OAS & CPP input worksheets are useless and needed to be repeated elsewhere. Causing Duplicate work and checking. The Dividend tax credit never showed on the worksheets unless you printed the doc. - stupid

No that useful. I find mylsef wondering if I've entered everything correctly, as many of the "interview" questions don't apply or are confusing. When I just use the forms, I know exactly what line I am working with and how it affects the overall picture.

Confusing
I found that there were some areas that made me wonder if I had ticked off the correct box when reviewing my profile. For example, in the review it would ask me if I had employment expenses when I had not indicated that I had been working. I had to go back and reconfirm.
Another issue was that there were two place to enter in union dues and it was confusing as to where it should be entered or if if was to be entered in both. Had to stop and research help data base.
For me the program stopped responding a number of times. Unfortunately the first time it did it I was halfway through my return and had not saved it. Learned my lesson on that one.
I'm not sure if this issue is a TurboTax issue or if it is a CRA issue but in one case some of the information that showed on the Tslip did not transfer in.

MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH APPLE
Using an APPLE iMAC - will not allow entry of dayémonthéyear - as shown here. Will not accept forward slash and starts to crash... VCould not enter the boxes on the survey - becuse will not accept keyboard from APPLE. Very unsure whether to buy again.
1 - Crashs when trying to use Chequing and credit card. Will attempt to load another browser - and drops link to Turbotax. Looks for Internet Explorer - though I have FirefoxéChrome and Safari already up and running. Definitely a PC system.

Update Failure,... again
Just like last year, the automatic updates failed for the CD version and pushed me to manual download from the website. The manual update also failed due to incorrect folder permissions pushing me to download the whole program and reinstall thereby wasting my time. Very disappointed in the apparent lack of attention to detail.
