Meh
Freezes up quite a bit when connecting to the CRA, causing you to lose your progress, which is quite annoying.
Rather expensive for filling simple returns, I'll pass on this software next year.

Not keeping up
The first year that I used TurboTax, I was impressed. I find this year that the product hasn't been improved, and seems to be asking for information that is not longer relevant (sports, arts for kids, when those tax credits are gone). Makes me concerned whether it has been updated for anything new!!

The font for the slips entry forms got smaller. Not good. Also, it crashed several times trying to switch from interview to forms.

Unable to netfile ???
I clicked Netfile button on the menu however I only get to print pdf or paper copy (which I already have done) - hitting the wall at share and review there is no net file after that.
Going back as far as I can - more printing & review again .. and sharing ... Only option is going Back t.. to printing and than same all over again. This is totally LAME!

2017 Turbo tax trouble
I could not up load my 2016 returns, I received the script error so I spent 2 hours trying to fix it online/reinstalling/deleting the tt.config file etc and it would not fix it. The script error on every single entry was a huge pain.
In the end it did what it was bought for and filed my taxes with net.file but this better be fixed next year or it will be the last year I use it.

needs debugging
Most frustrating that a script error message that has been experienced by users for years has still not been fixed. I spent more time closing the error message than doing my simple return. Will explore other software next year.

I had to restart the program 6 times once the the tax receipt were downloaded from cra website. horrible!! it would freeze and lose all my previous data entered. no feature to autosave!!!

not intuitive
Previous years Turbo Tax basic were much much clearer when using the pension income optimizer. In fact, medical and charitable optimizer were not helpful. Refund showing should show both refund and amount owing when completing 2 returns.

Standard Package is okay
I have been using Turbo Tax for a couple of years now. It is good when you just have a simple tax to file, ie.regular employment. When you are filing your tax return with children in university, resp withdraws, government grants, child working part-time, then the Standard package is not as good. It does not really help you as you will have to find out what other deductions you can use. You cannot fully rely on it

You can do better
Compared to other tax preparation systems, TurboTax seems less helpful. It may be because the program constantly wants to upsell you an advanced system which is easier to do when you have outstanding questions as a result of this program.

I HAVE BEEN USING TURBO TAX FOR YEARS AND HAVE ALWAYS FOUND IT RELIABLE AND EASY,HOWEVER, THIS YEARS PROGRAM HAS LEFT ME FRUSTRATED AND ANGRY. I HAVE A FARM WHICH I SHARE WITH OTHER FAMILY MEMEBERS, THE NAME IS McGuigan BROTHERS, YOUR PROGRAM WITH NOT CORRECT ERROR OR LET ME CONTINUE TO NET FILE. I PAID FOR THIS PROGRAM SO I WOULD NOT HAVE TO MAIL MY RETURN.

Usually good but has a glitch 2017
Have filed one return with payment but wont let me file second return with refund. It keeps saying that it needs to be fixed but when trying to fix it takes me to the other return already filed. Time consuming and frustrating

Gets worse, more complicated year after year instead of simpler. I want t print individual forms as I process the return, there is no facility for it. Bad. The improvement was that the program uploads to CRA without complex signing in. The CRA's Autofill function "discovers" money I do not have, some the organization uploaded incorrect data

Easy but flawed
I've used TT for many years and come to rely on it so much that I've not checked its results as much as I should have. I was seriously misled in 2016 when, in the step-by-step I replied yes to foreign income which I had already entered in a T5 and T3. This resulted in overstating the income, paying too much tax, and getting into frustrating dialog with CRA which is still unresolved. I reported this to TT by phone last year, but I see the same situation again in 2017.

not a good as previous years
TurboTax has implemented an annoying autofill feature that does not turn off, causing a popup every time you switch views.
The program did not print the right schedules, and support suggested i upgrade the program. That is not a good business practice. If you pay for a program it should print out the proper backup for CRA.

Software Trouble
Disk did not auto start and when I finally got it installed a script warning appeared after every entry click. Reboot didn't solve the problem. First time I have had trouble with this product in many years. A disapointment.
