Script Prompts
I tried all the search options:
1) Turn off automatic debugging
2) Uninstall and then Reinstall
3) Reinstall over existing software
All methods failed and I continued to get the script errors after each page in the wizard mode. Very frustrating and have used Turbotax for multiple years and this is the first time I ever encountered this problem. Very frustrating overall.

Old & Dated
Intuit appears to be riding the cash flow of TurboTax's predecessor QuickTax. While the product keeps up to date with Canadian tax changes, what appears on the screen has had no appreciable update in years. The application is small and non-scalable on today's monitors which are much higher resolution than when this product was first developed. There appears to be no ability to resize windows to make information easier to read. The standard fonts used for data are no longer standard fonts and the information ends up looking weird if a poor alternative is selected by the operating system.
The help information is long on theory but short on what to do -- telling people to go a profile page without telling you how to get to the profile page is not useful. Warning people that a data entry should be automatically calculated is good. Not telling people how to do the override when it is the right thing to do is not. Asking someone if they are eligible for a 20(11) deduction is just plain aggravating.
Little things like when you open the application, listing the last returns that have been saved is common for most applications, but not TurboTax.
It's frustrating to continually have popups telling you that information cannot be entered in this place but needs to go somewhere else instead.

I found more glitches this year. Would not update for me and unlike previous years would not show the marginal tax rates for family members. The filing tips seemed juvenile.

I found several errors in the Quebec returns which cause problems. You did not have all the conditions for the Quebec tax included in the version of the software.

SAME, OLD OLD STUFF
There is no copy and paste. There is copy and CTRH V but only from 1 location to another location.
Unique sales tactics Get it sent to you every year and then it comes out in stores at half the cost you paid
Absolutely zero changes after umteen years. Simple stuff like Hi Liters. It would helpif you could HI Lite an entry to remind you that entry may require updating
it gets the job done but requires MAJOR updating.

Cannot enter info in T-slips
In the past, tax slips could be entered in the T-slips boxes when you chose to do your tax return under forms or advanced user. The past few years, this option is locked out and you HAVE to go through the "easy steps" to complete your return. Very frustrating...

Software issue
Normally a good tax tool but this year we had software issues with java script errors which meant every page we had to click several times to continue to load the scripts, slowed things downs, taxes at bad enough as it is.

Poor service
After using Turbo tax for many, many years I now have second thoughts about ever using again. I have been attempting to get service for 2 weeks and to no avail. I have now paid for 3 extra returns because the counter on my software has malfunctioned.
You are quick to process the charge for my software each year, but impossible to connect with for follow up service.

Very poor this year
The 2016 version was very disappointing. I have used TT for 15 years, and this is the first time I have found errors which could not be resolved after several hours on the phone. Ended up having to adjust input data to incorrect numbers in order to get right answers for some data entered. Did not want to override, because I wanted to Netfile.

leaves a lot to be desired
I find the help section is never helpful. Something as simple as the status of a deceased person who passed away in the middle of the year where you
are given the options of widowed, married, single etc as of Dec 31, with a notice to make sure you pick the correct one. Help says you have to file as single.
Getting a 'yearly' exchange rate for foreign income where you have collected dividends quarterly should be a click away.
No place to enter 'for the Estate of" for a deceased person.
Being told that you should upgrade to 'premium' version with no explanation why, in the ;middle of doing the taxes.

Not worth it
your software doesn't work. I get a error message saying CRA was unable to accept my Netfile Tax return. Yet CRA says everything is okay on their end and our records match. Furthermore, this software didn't import prior years Turbo Tax information. Looks like I will switch to another vendor after this substandard offering

Some Problems
Very unresponsive to enter basic data and could not prepare deceased spouse at the same time so lots of calculations required. Also, could not enter the pension split amount at L116 so had to put it on L115 and make a note. Doubt if CRA can see the notes so it may cause more grief down the line.

Frustration with product
The print in the slips was too small and impossible to read. Very frustrating. I talked to 2 different people at your company one for 2 1/2 hours, another for over an hour. The only help they could give was to use the magnifier. That made it too big. I have windows 10, computer just 1 year old. Not sure what problem was, but will look for different product next year.

Could be better
I have a son attending University in a province outside our home province. He works at the University during the year (to help pay his tuition) and comes home in the summer to a summer job. It would be beneficial to know which province could provide better tax benefits for him as he moves between the provinces many times.
My mother in law has numerous medications etc. She is legally separated. It would be easier if her name came up automatically every time I had to enter "who is the medication for" and also a menu option as she usually gets the medications from the same one or two pharmacies. While I try to group the medications, it is still easily 20 or more entries I have to do.

Sale of house i process is not correct
If you sold your Principal residence in 2016 you need to complete Schedule 3 to designate it. TurboTax does not take do this

They did not advertise that XP machines do not work with Turbo Tax 16, so I had to use a different machine which did not allow me to carry forward last years' figures. Not impressed! Some features are very good and I appreciated the warnings, etc.

One Change Requested
Filling out my income tax this way is straight forward, however, I would prefer it if the results came out at the end automatically (i.e. refund or amount owed). Bottom line, that is the information that every tax payer is most interested in and it should be provided automatically.

Frustratrated MAC User
TurboTax works well as a product ... I have a MAC and no longer have a current PC.
I will have to find another alternative next year. I don't consider the cloud based service an acceptable option.

Crashed twice Win 10
Easy to use, must update after installing.
Program crashed right away when first run. Filled out one tax return up to where it says ready to save at the very end... and it crashed. Nothing saved.
Running on Win 10..not had any problems with other software.
Second time it ran fine, but learned my lesson... save early, save often. YMMV.

frustated

Simply over complicated

Kludgy software
TurboTax hardly changes from year to year and is overpriced for what it is. On my return, some lines appear blank but actually contain information. The software asks the same questions repeatedly. The interface could be improved dramatically if Turbotzs used 2017 technology instead of 2995 ore earlier. (For example, no touch screen interface, no real use of mouse)
