going downhill fast
I've used Turbo Tax for many years. This year I can only netfile mine and not my wife's. I can't reach anyone by phone. they're too busy.

Lots of issues with program freezing
Continually received a warning of script errors then the program would freeze. Only way around was to keep reinstalling the program after each freeze. The moment you exit the program or save a file the error resurfaces and then your back to reinstalling the program again and again and again. As a long time Quick/Turbo Tax customer it was certainly not worth the aggravation this year. Will re-think buying the program for next year.

CPP overpayment inaccurate
I do not believe my CPP contributions were calculated accurately but no one to ask why Turbo Tax insisted I should pay no premiums. Asked 'Help' several times with no success. No support on individual issues. Otherwise
fine if no issues

Frustrated
It has been a very frustrating afternoon doing taxes because it does not allow to put in the information requested. Does not explain what is required in certain boxes. It did not allow import information from past tax years!

not a great product for support
this product wants to update itself April 8th, my file from download is TurboTax2016_Bld1009_Nov29.exe, but wants a .msi file.
not a happy paying user.
try disgruntled.
"intelligence" on 800 446 8848 leaves lots to be desired

What happened this year?
Numerous unresolvable errors when importing either the tax receipts automatically (first attempt) or our 2015 return information (second attempt). Ghost amounts for unused RRSP contributions appeared as an example (in second attempt), could not NETFILE returns.
Resolved issue by manually entering all the info from scratch with no importation at all. This third version of our returns that was finally accepted.

Statement
Been using it for 8+ years, this year, had to reinstall due to an update problem.
also when software update is available, more detains would be nice to c if it does not affect already tax submitted wen doing more then 1 report.
If cosmetic changes are done, they should be noted as it.
If calculation changes are done for updates, they should be
noted in RED .

Where's the support?
Had a simple question not answered in the Help. Nowhere to call to talk to support. *NO* *PHONE* *NUMBER* *ANYWHERE*
And they have the audacity to ask in their Satisfaction survey if I called their support desk!

Not Intuitive
The program tries to make helpful tips or make suggestions that are not even correct. ex: an 80 year old person is told they could save taxes if they add to a RRSP. You can't passed the age of 71. Or it suggests to a deceased person to open a TFSA. Worst one, and it happens most of the time, it tells me how to best use my medical expenses, or they aren't high enough, so transfer them to a lower income spouse. This is hilarious, because this happens and I haven't even entered in any medical expenses, or I'm single. The program knows these things: DOB, entries made; but it still offers advice that is wrong or totally not relevant.

Problems
I selected the option to update Turbo Tax before entering any information. An error message appeared on the screen "could not update to the general server". The option was to proceed 'with the scripts' or no. I closed this message and entered my data. I had to close the error message every time I moved to the next screen. As a result I'm not confident my return is filed correctly - very frustrating! I have used Turbo Tax for several years and have never encountered anything like this.

Great software - horrible instal
The Turbo Tax software is fantastic year over year. Easy to use and easy to import. This year the installation of the software was a NIGHTMARE. I kept getting script errors and had to uninstall and re-install TWICE. What a pain!

Not a great package
There are some confusing elements to this package. It is not altogether user friendly. I had to figure some things out on my own like the order in which to do the returns for my family, two of whom had tuition and are living at home. I figured that out through trial and error that resulted in hours of my time wasted time, not to mention which one of us should claim the tuition. It would also only let me enter donation receipts for just me and not my husband. I probably will not use TurboTax next year.

Pure Frustration
Unlike previous years,TurboTax worked very poorly, even though the same computer was used.
There were continual warnings (several to every page) regarding a fault that required us to check a yes box to allow us to run scripts.
The navigation buttons LH lower to get back to various stages of the return did not work. Almost impossible to get back to the easyfile progress bar.

Most Disappointed
This is the first year ever, that I have had a horrible experience with your product. moving back and forth between sections was not as easy as it was in previous years.
The biggest and largest problem I encountered was being interrupted on EVERY page change with "Script Error". There were large periods where it took forever to get to the next section!!!!
I am definitely not looking forward to having to do a second one!

It's Okay
Seems less intuitive this year, had to dig fairly deeply to find stuff that should have been included in the easy step. I miss the summary window showing the detailed breakdown of your tax return. The the large 'refund' in the top left isn't particularly helpful.

Very Slow
After loading the program and starting 2 returns the program downloaded and update. Since then the program runs very, very slow. Every time I click a button I get a message that the 'Program not responding'. Then after 30-60 seconds it finally moves to the next step. Poor quality programing. I've been using this platform for several years, but this will make me consider another alternative program.

Does anybody test this software??
Every spring it's the same thing - wrestle with TurboTax.
This year it's forms that 'overfill' my monitor and require using the Esc key to back out of.....

Turbo Tax Standard 2016-Not Recommended
Syntax Errors: (1) continuous syntax errors on every page. Using Windows 10 on new ACER Aspire Laptop. Very annoying and there was no help for the problem when I contacted Turbo Tax; updates that became available didn't correct the problem. (2) Navigation: I found it very clunky and unreliable. The left navigation pane was pretty much useless; forced to use the BACK drop down menu. (3) Print functions were iffy at best. when I selected print it wanted me to set up my printer on my network but it was already there.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. It's too clunky.

Support process useless
In reporting an error in the T5 where it incorrectly adds lines 23,24,25 Support seemed incapable of providing an explanation and resolution. The Support ticketing system and responsiveness leave a lot to be desired. TurboTax Windows

Software *not responding*
Every single click for "next" "okay" "continue", every button caused the software to not respond for about 5 seconds. after that it came back all normal. I just don't understand how the internet version of your software is free and works infinitely better than the version I used (standard) and paid for, the update also failed and said I had to reinstall the whole program.

2016 version too buggy
Previous years versions were great but this year after selecting to update the software every screen was giving me multiple script warning messages that I had to ok or cancel to continue. After uninstalling and reinstalling with the latest updates it actually was worse! I did persevere and was able to eFile my return but was very frustrated with the bugginess!
I can not recommend the service this year

Got some problems this year
It used to be good, but this year I kept getting an Error Message every time I wanted to continue or go back. It became very annoying. It took me at least twice as more time than usual.

Unacceptable bugs this year - wont be buying next
Just appalling issue of failing to automatically update (TT805), then failing to manually update as well (TT3015) - so for a time I was stuck unable to file (need to update before NETFILE is possible). Why not at least provide some plain-English description of the error codes so I can try to diagnose??
Then I find just by chance that the download file ttUpdate_17Mar2016.exe had been silently revised (same name, different contents) and this revised version did succeed (but why, why why! give an updated file the same name?? no way for a user to suspect that its a different one to the previous one that already failed!).
I wonder, what kind of bugs in the tax logic if you cant even deliver a working application??
On-line support was appalling - this "community" forum a poor excuse for a company that apparently wants to avoid providing a real support system where a user can log a problem privately and get a response, hide the ability to enter a support call by not putting this option anywhere obvious in the web page menus. This is not a social media application - its a tax filing application - If I've payed good money for the application, I expect obvious, straightforward conventional support option - not being expected to search within the forum or google to find a way to solve a TurboTax bug!
Eventually by googling & searching TT forum found a way to log a support question - but the only option is to receive a phone call?? What about Skype? I dont want to eat up mobile phone time on a who-knows-how-long support call.
I have used TT for years (including its predecessor) - automatically bought it each subsequent year without a second thought. Absolutely, unconditionally will not be buying next year - will be switching to one of the other companies.

I have using turbotax for around 10 years and this is the first year that it has caused me problems. On every page I encountered script error even though I deleted the script error page on my computer. This I found very annoying and time consuming. I went online to find out about it and found there were many people who also experienced this problem. I certainly hope it is a bug you can fix.
