Script Error Messages
Even with updates, I am receiving "This script has encountered an error, would you like to continue executing this script?" with "Yes" or "No".
Never had these problems before.

Glitchy
Two silly glitches with the product.
1. wouldn't download in English without help from tech support. (solution was a download link vs. my CD)
2. wouldn't allow me to add a dependent without help from tech support (solution was to go to Easy Step from Forms.)

Disappointed This Year!
I have been using this product for about 8 years now. This year the program had a filing error that made me have to jump through hoops in order to NETFILE my return. The error read "We're sorry, TurboTax couldn't receive the NETFILE Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice from the CRA"
This has annoyed me because every year Turbo Tax increases in price which I truly don't begrudge them WHEN the program does what it's supposed to do...
This year it didn't do what it was supposed too...and if I were somewhat limited in my computer abilities this may lead to issues.
I think I'll be call Turbo Tax with the hopes of getting a credit against the purchase since this issue.
I WOULD NOT recommend TURBO TAX until this issue is resolved!

Flawed Product released?
How on earth did a version of this software get release permission with a glaring glitch still unaddressed by updates? I am referring, like so many other people, to the NETFILE error "We're sorry, TurboTax couldn't receive the NETFILE Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice from the CRA." What should have been the culmination of a positive experience turned into a bit of puzzlement, then confusion -- thinking that I the user had committed an error -- which was resolved when I went to Plan B and used the manual upload. Fine, I was able to NETFILE successfully, but I paid for a fully functioning version of TurboTax and what I got was something I had to tweak in order to file successfully. Surely this problem has been flagged (as seen by the multiple posts to user forums and the apology from TurboTax, "We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience and frustration this has caused.") However, deeply sorry does not cut it for such an obvious problem. TurboTax, "I am deeply sorry" but I am looking at alternative filing software for next year.

Will look for something else next year
Once upon a time, as a salaried employee, I found Turbo Tax Standard very helpful and not difficult to use. Then I turned to self-employment and was happy with Turbo Tax Home and Business. But now that I have government and other pension income, am still self-employed but on a minor scale, I find the current version of Turbo Tax Standard hard to use and not very helpful. Another change is that I have significant medical expenses and find the data input screens for this info extremely awkward.

Not for the layman.
I do not find this program user friendly. I am asked the same questions over and over again. Even at the end of the tax form completion I am asked to save and print twice which makes it confusing. I don't think Turbo Tax can take all the information entered and generate a report with the best possible refund. I am not comfortable with this program.

A lot of guidance or suggestions just not there
I am finding many glitches and oddities arising from using this software from year to year. We used to get a credit year after year when we combined the premiums with a few actual medical receipts but we have no co-pay now so are out of pocket very little for prescriptions and just have the premiums as an expense now. The software leaves large gaps for losing money on one’s return in a few areas year after year if you do not work the numbers and try different scenarios with which spouse claims what credits you stand the chance of losing large sums of money in credits not claimed and Turbotax should be making these suggestions for you. It lets you make mistakes. It is very unhelpful at guiding people and ensuring the maximum return as it promises.

2015 Problems
I have used Intuit Tax return software for many years. This is the first time I have not been satisfied, nor confident. Edits did not transfer to my final Return without several changes in how I entered my receipts.
Extremely frustrating!

Getting way too complicated
I have been using Quick Tax and Turbo Tax since the 1990's. I'm afraid it just keeps getting more cumbersome. For example I ended up entering rental information 4 times before I got it right. The optimisation for charities, medical etc... should be an option when you are entering that information, not in the final review. Getting from screen to screen is not consistent, for example there is no obvious way of leaving this page.

Tough to navigate...
Ive been using this product for about 5 years.
This years' edition is not as easy to navigate as in years past.
I used to flip back and forth from the easy to fill out charts and the interview, not so easy now, I'm not sure why, I'm not a programmer just a user. Also going back to amend or add information is much more difficult now.
The excellent product intuit had is ironically, far less intuitive.

First time using turbo tax and not feeling that I can navigate easily. Trying to ensure that certain claims such as disability and attendant care are actually included and very difficult to be sure, so wasting a lot of time. Had to go to CRA site a few times to find help information that I could trust. Now ready to file and still not comfortable that I have everything included as I could not find a breakdown that actually showed that the claims were included. I think I'll try something else next year.

I told you this before.
I mention this every year. [One change would be nice. You make us enter ALL capital gains and losses TWICE on a joint return. PLEASE fix this and have a 50/50 button like on ALL of the other investments.] And because you have not fixed this I tell all my investment community to NOT use Turbo Tax. Else I love it.

More confusing than previous yrs
Used TurboTax for many yrs. Most confusing product to use this yr. Not clear in case of completing a return for a deceased person with a spouse. The help menu poor for questions or definitions. Not easy to use anymore. Even the dropdown list to tell others about yourself is so limiting, its almost useless since I was doing the taxes for an elderly couple, and there wasn't even a choice for that. Always loved the product before but not now. Should have gone to an accountant cuz too many unanswered questions.

Average
The inability to merge online versions with purchased cd version is a huge weakness. The product should have a year over year comparison to see the differences per year and allow a quick verification that we're definitely overtaxed, and be able to see the extra tax burden soon to be placed on us by the Liberal party.

Mostly Turbotax is right. Interview approach is good, but some questions are ambiguous.
Anyone filing in Quebec has to constantly and closely watch what the program is doing.

no more support for XP - reconsidering further use
I still use Windows XP. I keep it secure by running it in a virtual machine used exclusively for my taxes and other old programs that I use. Intuit's removal of support for XP makes me seriously reconsider whether I will use their software again next year.

frustratingly difficult to edit. Hard to complete unless you do it all in one sitting because finding anything afterwards is next to impossible. I have used a number of these packages and this is the worst, but most expensive. Sorry Intuit. I wanted to like it. Ufile has you beat by a mile.

Not totally "intuitive"
1. The "Help" boxes have no obvious or visible way to close them. Only accidentally did I discover that if I ran my cursor over the TT icon, it would show me "thumbnails" of screens I had open. In that thumbnail of the Help box was the "X" to close it. Not user-friendly that way.
2. When typing in the amounts of Donations/Medical
Expenses, it was not intuitive or user-friendly as to how to make the numbers 'stick.' I kept getting warnings to re-format the amount or that I was using too many characters. I finally figured out that I need to right-click NEAR the box, to make the large "X" in the box go away, so the amount could jump to its proper place.
3. Very confusing at the end. When I thought I had successfully Net-Filed, and even had my Confirmation Number already, it kept giving me the same page over and over, asking me IF I wanted to Net-File. I clicked "I'm Done Filing," and would get the same screen again. I lost count how many times I had to say I was 'done filing' before it moved on.

Not the greatest format
Not impressed with the change in step process...did not lead me to rental/medical expenses. It was frustrating fishing around through the search format to find them. I am afraid if you force all on your next edition to send through email it will be a no go for me. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN SENDING PERSONAL INFO THROUGH COMPUTERS. ALSO ..I do not have a scanner to send slip copies.
