Not as good as past years
I've never had a complaint about Turbo Tax in past years, and have recommended it to people. However, this year, the performance of the software was not good. Kept freezing, though I don't think I ever lost data. Didn't give me confidence in the product, and actually makes me wonder if I actually got good tax calculations or not.

Never seems to improve
The user interface has remained unchanged for as long as I can remember. While this makes it easy to know how the software operates each year, it never appears to progress. In addition, the interface in moving between forms is clunky and there is a point in the Review of the returns where the system suggests that you use some of the Optimizers that are available, but then requires you to exit the Review before allowing you to use the Optimizers.

Medical Receipts
It would be nice if I could enter in all the medical receipts on a spread sheet. This entering in the same information with different dates (i.e. prescription drugs) is frustrating. It would be nice if a spreadsheet appeared after entering in 2 or 3 entries!

Not so intuitive
In previous years I have used Turbo Tax and thought the optimizers and tips were very useful. I thought it remembered my previous tax returns and helped me to carry over or optimize donations and contributions and so on. This year I found the optimizers not working or not showing up at the appropriate time and it did not input the information from the 2014 return event though I followed the instructions to do so. This was a frustrating and disappointing experience. I will not be purchasing this product again and feel I have paid too much for what I received.

Improvements Needed
For those of us who have done our taxes ourselves for decades the easy track is frustrating because it take steps that experienced tax filers would know are not proper. I ran into this problem in regard to filing my medical expenses for a another dependent. The program asks you to list their amounts and then includes them in the Line 330 calculations and then subtracts them off again. It does not even show you line 331 where that amount should be entered. Very confusing for those of us who know how to do a traditional paper form. The only reason I buy this software is to help me split our pension income to our greatest advantage.

The program required me to enter 12 months for disability. I did so, but the program kept telling me that the information was missing, although it was clearly on the form. As a result, I was not able to netfile and had to print and mail instead.

Many problems with entering large numbers because turbo tax would not except it in the system because a dot came up automatically and very hard to bypass. I could correct it only by entering in the very main sheet. I took a while to find out. For example $ 10000.00 instalment payment could not be entered in any other way than in the main form. I found out how to do throw a tip of an other user.

Windows 10 problems
I've used TurboTax and its predecessor programs for many years. 2015 was the worst version of this software that I have ever seen. On some screens you can use the mouse to scroll down, on others you have to use the side bar. Very annoying.
On the Forms page, if you enter the Other Fields box at the bottom the next screen will lock and you cannot get back. I had to hit escape.
While doing the review, you cannot return to the return until you complete all of the subsequent screens.
Overall, very poorly produced software.
The Netfile function is vastly improved from prior years and worked very well.

Needs some work
Used a competitors product last year and TurboTax although well priced, requires some tweaking for 1st time users. This year, I filed 3 family returns and...IF TurboTax had a 1.800 HELP # to access an "IT guy"., it would have saved a lot of time put in....and the frustration in getting through some of the screens where edits needed to be made and in the use of the Optimizing features.

northern residents
If I just moved here and didn't know that I could claim the Northern Residents allowance, there is nothing in the easy step program to inform me ahead of time. There should be something to check off for living in a prescribed zone. Also nothing in easy step to tell me about being a truck driver and claiming meals.

Changed your program
For the second year in a row your program does not show the background calculations like it did in previous years.
People with children are very confused and are probably missing out on deductions because of the confusing information out there.

Program errors, again.
Once again this year, I had to spend hours on the phone trying to convince the agent that there were errors with the program. This year at least they fixed the errors with the next update. Last time I had to file by manually bypassing the problem.

Not impressed
This year i am not impressed that it doesn't tell you if you are eligible for the GST credit and how much you will get each month. I am not sure I will buy turbo tax next year...was always a customer but might not be next year, very disappointed....

Not what it used to be
I have never used any other tax software but had previously always been happy with Turbotax. The last few years, however, I feel the software has gone downhill.
I am no tax expert and buy Turbotax because I found the help system very easy to use and outstandingly complete. No so anymore. The information I look for is either too hard to find or doesn't exist in the software.
I do still give the "easy step" system high marks for ease of use. The software is well organized and ensures I don't "miss" anything. The tax-saving tips are a welcome tool as well.
Despite the software being easy to use, the now-lacking help system for those encountering difficulties forces me look at other software next year and suggest others do the same.

This Product is Seriously Broken

Complicated

Poor Value
Year after year, Turbo tax charges us for a full price product. However year after year, it's just minor updates to some of the tax rules. This must take Intuit several days of work at most to update.
Also ne of the most basic things I'd expect is better descriptions of each of the claims and exactly what it is. The help function available just goes out and searches the internet for your question.. gee, thanks Turbotax, I could of done that for free..

Problems with TurboTax this Year!
TurboTax is very poor this year. There are endless loops you can't get out of in the netfile area and it incorrectly does the refund calculation when doing income splitting.
