Hard to see
I have used Turbo-Tax for many years but this will most likely be the last. I found it extremely hard to use because of diminishing eyesight. The text is way too small, and too faint in colour to see properly The text should be at least a bold format. I do not see why they can't make it more senior friendly.

Worst edition of Turbotax ever
Horrible... What happened???? User interface was awful... Did not work at all with WIndows 8.1 version on HP Laptop... WIll never ever purchase turbotax again.. NEVER...

took a step back
This year's version was not as good as previous years. Intuit website says to search for *.taxYYYY files however the program actually creates *.ttYY files. Wasted a lot of time looking for last years returns to transfer. It also did not work well with windows 7 as the windows search function does not show all the files in the folder. Could not just go to a particular step but had to step back one page at a time.

Bad product
Does federal taxes alright, but doubles prescription fee for Quebec returns. Had to file a paper return which defeats the purpose of buy this software.

Try something else next

Unimpressed with this years TurboTax
The program reminded me time after time that the return could not be Netfiled if my address had been changed since the last return was filed however would NOT prompt me to save the work that was completed and come back another time when CRA had been notified of the address change. With no indication of how to proceed in this circumstance and nothing to indicate Save for a later date there was simply to much wasted time for a very easy return. I really could have done this by hand walked to the post office and mail the return faster.

Will consider other options next year
I have been using Turbo Tax since it was first introduced in Canada as Quick Tax and am finding it is becoming less user friendly as the years go on. I had several questions that were not answered in the Help or Support section, and I don't think I should have to pay additional fees to ask or clarify a question. The format has changed so that it's harder to go between the tax summary and the interview without losing place. Seeing the forms while doing the interview is more complicated now, and toggling between husband and wife returns is more complicated. I will be considering other options next year.

disappointed
I only found out this year that I could claim tuition and books and if were not for someone telling me that I should keep receipts for tool expenses I would have not known now I need to put in adjustment forms for 2010 and 2012 to get back money that turbo tax did not make it known to me I could claim

New format
I found the new format to be harder to use than previous years (been using Turbo and previous Quick Tax for many years). It is filled with grammar and spelling errors. Changing for the sake of changing is not worth it. Case in point below, "I own my own home".. more accurate just to say "I own my home".

Disappointed
We have used Turbo Tax for years and have always been so happy with it, but not this year. It is way too slow moving from one screen to another. Sometimes you are not sure if it is going to proceed or if you had done something wrong. Not user friendly.

I have used this product for years with no trouble at all. This year I installed it from the internet instead of from a disk. Every time I tried to submit a form it tried to do it twice. When I made an error I couldn't fix it. I did fix it, but it kept saying to fix it again and then I could not NETFILE because the problem, (in the computer) was not fixed. When I printed the copy to send by mail the problem was fixed so what was going on I do not know. Now I have to send a huge envelope of receipts and forms, my tax refund will take longer to come and I am not happy. Hopefully the problem can be fixed by next year.

POOR DESIGN
This years turbo tax design, I found to be quite challenging and confusing to navigate through.
I preferred last years model by far as this years formatting is not efficient or succinct in getting your taxes done in a timely manner, without fear of making mistakes due to the poor formatting.

too complicated this year
the 2014 turbotax was very different that the past years. It was quite a bit more involved and repetitive. Please catch helpful hints and review while you are filling out forms etc. not after everthing has been done and you have to go back to remember what you have done. Why am I carrying my medical information to the third year. Will I still be able to use them?

problems
turbo tax let me file my return and will not let me file my wifes until March 5 as updates are needed. It may be that I loose money due to not being able to run final checks prior to sending mine !!!!!!

Product is definitely not intuitive. I wanted to actually copy/paste some of the problems here..... but it wouldn't allow me to do that.
Redundant marketing (and/or totally unrelated) screen prompts right in the middle of different portions of the process.
I've done auto filing for a few years now and it amazes me sometimes. "Pooled Pension Plan"-> try the help "tip" on that one and tell me people don't wonder what the heck your talking about.
I get a courtesy "warning" screen that some information is incorrect. So I check -> blank screen?
.....now doesn't that instill confidence.
YOU DO NOT USE "OR" CONDITIONS "WITHIN" A SELECTED RADIO BUTTON OPTION!! any entry level programmer will tell you that.

Confusing
I found this product is becoming more confusing to use each year. I have been a TurboTax user for a number of years and this was the hardest to follow of any year. I had absolutely no idea what my return looks like during its processing. There were several opportunities to allow to program to optimize it didn't tell me what choice it was making. Good thing I don't have enough income to pay taxes!!! Let's get back to basics and quit trying to make things idiot proof.
