2013 bugs
I have used this product for many years and have been very satisfied.
Unfortunately there were a number of bugs in the 2013 program such as lines that would not file and others that filled randomly. I needed to proof every line to ensure the return was complete and the calculations were correct this year.

Too many Ads
It is very annoying to encounter various offers to purchase numerous services while trying to do my taxes. The program is easy to use and would get a top rating except for this annoyance. You want to advertise additional services including wills, do it at the end or at the very beginning.

printing problems
I have had nothing but trouble printing returns to mail this year. I have even bought a new printer to correct the problem only to find out it is within the program not my printer.

bogus netfile error
I can't netfile because of errors which are inaccurate. My husband is not self employed; he's retired and his return has been virtually the same for the last 10 years. I have been waiting for software fix as I see others have this problem. I am now forced to print and mail his return. This will be the last time I use TurboTax!

Not flexible enough
Does not have flexibility for rental property addresses. Needs to have a number and street name, but not all rental properties have street addresses, like farmland. Because of this so called "error", I had to print and mail my return, it would not accept a Netfile. Addresses are not all consistent, so please update your software to incorporate section,range, merdian in the address.

Make it easier!
It is so hard to use when you have a few forms to enter. Just allow a person to find the forms you need to enter, and move on quickly. takes way too long!!

Too many changes
I've used Quick Tax then turnbo tax & there has been so many changes for inputting info, I did not like it at all. I prefer to see the entire form then fill out, this ask you questions & shows you a portion of the form below, did not like this at all, it's easy enough but I'd prefer to fill out the form, see the form & fill out what's needed.

Worse than last year
Turbo Tax is much worse than last year.
It is much slower, seems to serve out Web Pages very slowly.
They have tried to make it friendlier, but instead made it more confusing.
The Platiq payment method did not work at all, just hung up before review, and never returned.

Not helpful at all
I'm a first time user of Turbotax. Spent one hour completing return, only to find that it won't let me Netfile. Also no useful online assistance to assist me. Would have been faster to complete the free paper tax form. No more Turbotax for me!!!

buggy
This year, for 2013 tax return, the forms input page didn't work, only the Easy Step input pages. Once started in Easy Step, then I could go back and type into forms manually. But, when the form was new, it wouldn't work. Very frustrating. The font is quite small, and I don't have a problem with reading - don't require reading glasses. Too many ads for additional features to buy. Yes, you can upsell. I bought a tax program, I don't need to buy a will program or other packages.

Frustrating
I have used TurboTax for years but this does not mean I am happy with it. In fact, this year in particular, I have found it very frustrating to use. I realise that the question and answer approach is intended to make it simple but in the end I'm convinced it would be easier to walk the user through the forms instead.
The one area where I rate TurboTax highly is the Live Tax Advice. The person I spoke with was knowledgeable and very helpful indeed.

Filing cumbersome this year
Unhappy with changes to the actual filing process. Received confirmation number but then asked me what I wanted to do, as if I hadn't finished. IF IT AIN'T BROKE...DONT FIX IT GUYS!!!! I have been a user of this program for like forever!

Too many ADS!!
I thought I had purchased a product and yet every third or fourth screen was an ad or an attempt to upsell me to the next version. I've used QuickTax and now TurboTax for a while and never commented, however, this year after filing four returns in one afternoon I was fed-up with the NOISE.
The tax preparation software itself is GOOD.

This product hasn't changed in 10 years
So Turbo Tax continues to do the job.
What amazes is me that there still is no Mac version available. As well the interface hasn't really been updated in the last 10 years. It still seems to be the same old thing. How about getting a new modern UI.
But like I said it gets the job done...

TERRIBLE HELP FILES
Try to enter the fee you pay to your financial advisor.. help has absolutely no info and search turns up nothing!
It's buried under 'Carrying Charges' BTW

Not so good version of Turbotax
I used the USA TurboTax version for more than 15 years and I love it for the clear guidance through income tax filing. TurboTax for Canada is not as good as the USA version and in my opinion here are some of the reasons:
-Does not explain all terms and abbreviations, assuming that you should know all of them.
-Has some ambiguous questions regarding joint filing
-Does not cover all situations regarding sources of income
-At review, there is no easy way to fix some errors, which came back again and again.

Stupidly long
I find the questions to be too distracted and drawn out on too many pages due to the silly pictures which are attached to each one. Most people's returns are simple and deductions are few. However, you have to go through three screens to answer 12 questions.

problem with CD
I bought the standard version and when I try to do updates to it after loading it onto my PC I got an error code and it won't work. I tried it twice. I called support and they were able to send me a link that worked.

Poor product, by the time you get to filing returns you find out Netfile won't accept first time income tax returns.
Waste of time, continuous circle flaws in the hardware.
Should have saved my money as usual and filed paper returns.
Easier to follow logic.

Annoying ads
The ads for professional reviews is annoying. This is the reason I only gave an overall 2 stars. If that could be turned off completely, it would be very helpful. I purchase a copy every year for the family. I do not need to see the ads 8 times over.

hard to add information

Needs an Upgrade
I've been using TurboTax for four years. I don't see any improvement from one year to the next. Certain investment filings are ambiguous, and some of the warnings are irrelevant or false. Help messages could be easily improved by providing direct access (when desired) to the appropriate "Line" in the government income tax guides.

Problems
When completing a return for a deceased person, the program continues to ask questions that are not appropriate since the return is for a deceased person. e.g. questions about the deceased at year end???
Also, since you cannot complete a form for a deceased spouse along with yours, they must be done separately, but each asks for the other's net income, which is unknown as the other return has not been completed yet???

Used for 10 years but won't buy again
I have been using this software for 10 years or since it began/was Quick Tax. I do not like the changes - specifically, the most annoying thing, that would make me not buy it again next year, is that each time I enter a figure in a cell, it does not display until I have moved off of the cell and entered another one. I want to see what I type display on the screen. I don't know if this is deliberate or if there is a glitch in the software, but it is unacceptable, and I won't buy Turbo tax again because of it.

Terrible
I've been using QuickTax and turboTax since its inception an this version is terrible. First it insists that I remove override for my name so in the mailing address it would be my wife's name for my own tax return (there never was any overite and somehow TurboTax screwed this up when transferring info from my previous year), then after latest update it would not start and I had to reboot my computer again in order for it to start. IN the last step before filing Netfile it ask to click on the link before you can file it and it would take me to my homepage. While going thru the motions of preparing Netfile every time after going back to form you have to start all over again. Bottom line it is terrible.
