Software automatically changed info I entered for charitable donations, and had set to benefit highest tax rate spouse. I missed that the software did this and then had to modify a return with Revenue Canada.
Also, I should not have to see the cheezy pop up add for tax advice every time I open the software...I already paid, so don't waste my time!

Before I even started the income tax forms, there was a problem with the registration form. I called Turbo Tax(after a search for the contact number)and waited over an hour to have the problem attended to.

I have been using Turbotax for years to file multiple returns and have always liked its ease of use and wizard formats. However, this year I purchased the CD version as it worked out cheaper for multiple returns in our family compared to the usual online version. This turned out to be a huge mistake as there was no way to bring forward or import all the past data from previous year's returns. I had to go back and completely re-enter everything from personal data for everyone to tutition carry forwards to cost allowance depreciation schedules. It was a huge pain.
It makes absolutely no sense to me as to why I couldn't easily import all that data from TurboTax/Intuit's own servers!?!

Answers on the Tax Situation M-choice were not forgiving...had to go back several times and change my answers, to get the correct section and/or forms I needed. I even used the paper Gov Tax Guide and Forms, as HELP wasn't helpful. NETFILE was on the fritz and had to post my return...I have missed the deadline. TurboTax has been my favorite 'go to' for my last 3 returns; WHATs HAPPENED to 'user friendly' and 'INTUITiveness'? Is that a word? LOL!

over the past 5 years this product has steadily gone downhill - we're now at a point that we will consider other options for tax preparation.

Still, no easy way of transferring in tables of data: capital gains, medical expenses, etc.
When pasting in a value, just ignore dollar signs and commas, and round to 2 decimal points -- rather than just beeping and rejecting the value. And Tab-separated data on the clipboard should get pasted into each column. (At least allow us this much -- at least allow us to transfer one line at time via the clipboard.)
There's got to be better packages out there.

After so many years on the same platform, you still have bugs popping. Like this year the issue with having a "." after ave. in the address would cause you to block the access to the Netfile page. Well documented issue by others too. (not the only one).

Last year I had no problem doing income splitting. This year I'm asked to calculate my wifes income while I'm doing my income tax form with Turbo-Tax. You should let the user know who's tax form should be done first - The person with the larger income or the person taking or spitting that income. 3 hours is much too long for two simple returns and I'm not finished yet.

I have my address with "Blvd." for the last 6 years. This year Turbo TAX find errors in my address even I import it from my last return! To fix this bug not easy as program tell you that you have "&" or "*" in your addresss...Finally I removed "." at the end of Blvd and programm agree to make a NETFILE! BUt now it complance that I change my address!!!

great if you like to click and click and click to get to the next page. saves numerous copies when you only need one. verifies that any information you entered twice is the same both times. or maybe it was verifying that the math it performed had no errors. i'm not really sure. but it made sure to tell me that there were no errors. twice.

Went through the process. It seemed easy except when all was said and done, it didn't carry over some of the data and messed everything up. I ended up owing the government which I couldn't understand. Sent it anyway because I trusted the format. Reviewed it the next day and realized it didn't calculate some of my deductions. Did it again and voila! a refund. Had to resubmit and can only hope its correct and the government processes the 2nd claim. Don't need this hassle. Taxes are bad enough once, but twice........ no thanks!

Sure, TurboTax does the basics, it'll help you produce a tax return. But to impress me, a product has to really help with the tough stuff. Like Adjusted Cost Base when you declare shares sold. Any helpful link to explain how to calculate that? Nope. Better you spend time searching communities and government websites than the software provides support to you. Come on. The tough stuff is WHY we buy the software.

I find uFile to be cheaper and easier to use. Using netfile with uFile was way easier.

Be careful as my program got corrupted and I reinstalled it on the same PC and it uses the extra computer for the second install. Stupid. Then I call wait for 30 minutes and then drop my connection.

Need to make this program a lot more user friendly. I find that you repeat the same questions over and for just simple returns this program can be frustrating. For the next year program you need to word things so that you are not required to be a tax expert to know what you are talking about. My returns should be simple fast and easy to finish. Not so with your program

I have used Quick-Tax and Torbo-tax for many (10+) years, but this may be the last. For the last two years, I have been unable to net-file due to an error whcih could not be resolved. This year's version even "Crashed" after I had done sveral reviews (going from step 1-end) trying to find reasons for the errors; after several review passes, the screen froze in the review section (twice) giving a "memory" error. In other cases the review section detected "errors" but the option to "fix" took me back to a place where there was no error (in fact, there were some errors, but nothing to do directly with what the program claimed the error was about. I did tax submissions for two friends and they also had similar "errors". I never had such difficulties before, I think this product has become a piece of junk.

Having used Cantax for years professionally, I was intrigued by your program. I found many things I did not like about its performance. For instance, when entering data, I would find it useful if on completion you hit enter and the cursor moved to the next entry. When entering medical info it would be helpful if the program recognized repetitive data which reoccurs EG Dental, Drs Names etc. I like some aspects of the "easy" application but it is very slow. I found it difficult to move around the program. I realize Cantax is much nore expensive but it is not as frustrating to me.

I have had your product for a number of years. For whatever reason it seemed to have some issues this year. For instance there is NO help for determining how to handle political party donations.

There is a serious lack of information and help with the UCCB section. We spent 1 to 2 hours trying to figure out the error that TurboTax was giving us. We had to search forums for the answer. Not impressed. We will be looking into getting a professional to do our taxes next year. Also, we had a similar problem last year.

I have bought your item every year for the last 10 years, and this year i was disappointed. you could not watch the netfile video and alot of little things. i felt that i was going back and forth with the whole tax return.

Need to invest in a CCA optimizer feature and also still need to work on the review messages because they so often still don't apply...

The font is too small to read, the help section is not very helpful. The cost for a downloaded version is too high. I am very disappointed in this product. I have used it for several years and don't feel there is much value in the product. In the review, you remind me of things that have already been considered which causes me to go back and recheck my input. With the advancements in computing smarts, you haven't moved off the mark for several years. Most people I have talked to are moving to other suppliers. Time to smarten up!!
