poor for iMAC users
While TurboTax maybe just fine for PC users, it is poor for iMAC machines. Here is a list of my complaints
1. I bought an iMAC. I had intended to use it for my income tax return this year. However you do not have a version on turbotax which will run on an MAC OS platform. I had to buy the PC version of turbotax and run it on my laptop PC. I will investigate programs which run on an iMAC and dispense with turbotax next year.
2. your online iMAC turbotax has some issues which makes it useless
a. you are forced into the easy step interview which I find annoying, restrictive, and frustrating because I cannot access the forms.
b. your information seems to be processed on an INTUIT machine and is not on your iMAC.
c. it is not clear that one can ever access the forms to correct them before proceeding to file as you demand payment before that step is reached. The original promise was payment would be demanded when filing would proceed. I had assumed that one would be able to examine the forms before that step was reached.

This program is very poor
Many missing lines, not easy to use, very difficult to efile. Should be must easier to efile - automate the files, and all the fields for filing. Won't be buying this again.

there has to be a better program out there!
Stop Marketing extra services, I have not given you concent to do that!
Your help menus are not helpfull at all, they are basic term definitions.
Your "live" question box does not work, worthless distracting program add on. A waste of time and money.
Net filing is not easy or simplified, they take as long to figger out as do filling out all info on the federal form.

Does the job but needs polish
It did what I bought it for: my taxes are done.
But the features need some polish. For example what would be nice is a way to import data from their web-application.
As well it refused to use my default browser, instead it opened up IE everytime.
I didn't find it really easy to go back and change information as needed

Good purchase
This year I had trouble printing and the setting of the software was not centred after installation. we added our printer to the turbotax and still software could not find it. Said "Operation could not be completed the printer spooler service is not running"Not happy with this at all.

Font to small

Printing still lacks after so many years
So many years and so many iterations of your software, and one STILL can't print the summary pages for the year and the summary changes and comparison year over year.
I still have to "print Screen" those pages into MS Word and paste the top and the bottom of the pages to be able to concerve a copy.
This is 2012 not 1993... better start updating the core of your software. Competition has caught up and clients are growing impatient.

Professional Help?
It was my understanding that the "Standard" edition of TurboTax came with professional help. Instead I see a "community" of people giving their opinions and suggestions. Wonder how this would hold up in an audit? Maybe this is why there are continuous pushes from the software manufacturer to pay extra for their audit insurance!

QuickTax user since 1998. This version worst
I have been a QuickTax user since 1998. This version by far is the worst. It's slow, has errors by not opening windows based on the profiles set, ignored entry corrections.

Consistently locked up when going to efile. Had to reload software for each time.
Switched donations from assigned spouse to other spouse when finished

Annoyed
Why are you advertising/marketing to me while I try and complete my taxes? If I wanted to upgrade to one of your other products or signed up for automatic re-purchases, I would have chosen so on my own. Do not advertise to me after I have already bought the product and am trying to use it for what I bought it for. I am very annoyed by this and will not buy your product again as I see there are other products now entering the market. I enjoyed supporting Intuit, but you ruined it with all your "upgrade to this, renew for that" verbiage.

2011 Format is big step Backward
I have used Quick Tax for many years. When purchased by Turbo Tax, the 2010 version retained most of the Quick Tax format. The 2011 Turbo Tax version is a bloated restructuring of the previous product that boasts new features that are just the old ones in a revised format. I found the it more clumsy to use than previous versions particularly for medical and donation deductions. I'll be looking for a different vendor next year.

Tedious
Used to use this years before and loved it. The wizard approach makes things tedious and makes the general UI difficult and strenuous to navigate. Wizard makes things very repetitive when re-reviewing items. Will not be using next year.

reasonably good, I can do most of it myself.
However I dislike the screen format with sidebar information on the right of the screen taking up about one third of the screen space! It means that I have to scroll right and left all the time..great waste of time.
Also there is lots of talk of 'help', but NO WHERE do I find a telephone number. Why not?

I'm disappointed in the changes to Quick Tax. I found it impossible to go through my tax return page by page without printing it first. The only option was to highlight each form to look at it and try to remember which ones had been completed. I also didn't like the easy step sequencing. If I wanted to go back to where I had left off in a step, it began at the beginning again or I had to tell it where to go to, instead of automatically taking you back to where you left off. I feel the program has regressed and wish there was something else out there to buy next year!

a few problems
1. The blue printing does not show up well. A deeper colour would be much better.
2. Medical expenses were confusing. Program should show how much of the medical expenses wiil be worth while to report as the reporting is being done.
3. Optimizing screens should let you adjust amounts between spouses to see what happend to the bottom line.

2011 VERSION BRINGS DOWN INCORRECT TOTALS FOR TOTAL INTEREST WHEN YOU TRY TO NET FILE. IT ALSO DOES NOT SHOW BOND INTEREST, INCLUDES INTEREST FROM CAN SOURCES IN FOREIGN INTEREST AND DOES NOT TELL YOU WHAT THE ACTUAL ERROR IS IN NET FILE. YOU HAVE TO FIND IT YOURSELF. NOT VERY HELPFUL WHEN IT IS DOING ALL THE CALCULATIONS. TOTALLY FRUSTRATING.

Takes for ever to fill fields
The fact that I need to fill few fields, it takes for every to fill them up.
It almost seems like paper forms are easier.
How about instead of asking for the same question multiple times, just enter a field for the amount and get it over with.

Some Issues
I had a real issue with making changes to the returns once I completed them; If I added or deleted major credits the Refund/Tax due amount did not change. I ended up deleteing the return files and starting from scratch; this was a major inconvienience! I never had these issues with earlier versions of Quick Tax or Turbo Tax.

Long Time User Unhappy
First, in past years pages stated whether the page applied to myself or to my wife. In this year's version I simply could not tell, in SEVERAL instances, to whom the page applied. I am absolutely not sure if my return is properly done or not, as a result. It is far more clear to do one spouse and then the other (with identified pages, as noted). PLEASE, restore the old format(s) !!
Second, when I left an easy step page I never once was able to get directly back to that page. Something was missing - or it certainly wasn't obvious. A "return to" button is a must.

Decline in Quality
I found the software harder to work with this year. There were parts missing and it was more difficult to identify what forms should be used and when. Since I have had the opportunity to work with other tax software this year I may be more aware of the shortcomings in this software.

Not Intuitive
Tax software used to be a bit smarter than thi, it seems to me.
This asked me if I wanted to claim things that, based on previous answers, it should have determined I was ineligible for.
Also, undoing mistakes was painful. When I said yes to something, and then realized I was wrong; I had an awful time fixing it.
