with the intro. of the live community page this has made it a nuisance because it takes up nearly one thrid of the page and you cannot the buttons or see what questions are being asked. this page was not there in past years as far as i remember so i would suggest that it be eliminated this year if possible.

Too complex
Interview not helpful. Online help partially helpful. Forms method good for advanced users. Reports errors and warnings when none exist. Very confusing.

Disapointing
This is the 7th or 8th year I have used your product. I complete multiple returns each tax year for family. This year there were more gremlins than I had noticed before. I submitted help issues (such as a error message between each page completion)and did not receive any communication back. Whenever I tried to get help topics, what I wanted was hard to find.
I feel this should be an intuitive, seamless product. that was not my experience this year.

Don't buy the desktop edition
I've used the web version for years and got the desktop version for a good price at the store. Turns out it can only import info from other desktop versions not online. Now that I've broken the cycle I'll likely look at other options next year.

Poor way of doing taxes
I thought I would have the forms on line and could just put the amounts in the numbered spaces. but instead it led through a ton of questions and I was not sure of what I was saying yes or no to. I've been doing my taxees for 40 years now by paper forms and it usually takes me 2 hours to do but I spent a ridiculouus 9 hours trying to do this.

I had a lot of difficulty processing updates to the program once loaded. In the end I had to uninstall the disk and delete my returns then reload to get it to work.

not great
you do not have a place to change which spouse receives monthly child benefits.
cheaper version - quick tax easier to use but cannot transfer last years info in.

I expected better
I found this package time consuming to prepare simple tax returns and there were several places I had to override the package to obtain a better net tax position as a couple.
Simple things like having to manually trasnfer the dependants to realize a tax savings. Overall I definately expected better.

Tubo Tax lets longterm users down
I have used Quick Tax for many years and never had to phone for help. For the first time this year I needed to do so. Additionally, I could not use Netfile because the files seem to have disappeared and it looks like I will have to start my returns all over again. A great desappointment.

Needs Improvement

I just want a program to complete my tax return with that isn't too busy. The road to completion on the first tab is at about a 12 year old level. Just keep it simple and list the steps, is there a curve in the road for a reason?
I don't want advertising when I'm completing my return. Quicken, Turbo Tax Premier upgrade option, and Audit Defence. The social media was it for me, "share my tax triumph". Next year, I think I will look for tax software for adults.

2011 was a poor edition
I have used Turbo Tax for the last 5 years or more and this year when I went to transfer my information and use "easy step" it would not go to the start of the program where you identify your profile ie. RRSP contributor etc. I was so frustrated after many attempts I stumbled onto it and I cannot tell you how this happened. In past years easy step put you right to the beginning and proceeded through, this was very disappointing this year and I don't think I will use it again, there are other options out there.

Married and Separate Files
This program is a pain the the butt, last year it wanted us to file together, so we did - It said we were getting a refund, but only I was getting a refund, my husband had to pay, and was assessed a late penalty because this program said we had a net return. Waited on hold for over 15 minutes after putting all the information in this year, to be told to delete the file, go back and enter all the information manually if we didn't want the same problems as last year. I won't be buying this program again!

joint rerturn for seniors
I used this package to complete the return for my married parents. The stupid program kept flipping back and forth and it didn't pick up the information from the other parent. What the heck!! If you are going to flip back and forth it should be able to recognize the information on the other return and I shouldn't have to fill in the numbers.

WHAT HAPPENED
THIS YEAR TURBOTAX HAS CHANGED, FOR SOME REASON THE PROGRAM LEFT ME SEARCHING TO FIND THE ANSWER TO QUESTIONS THE PROGRAM WAS ASKING, IN PAST YEARS THERE WAS MUCH MORE EXPLANATION FOR THE QUESTIONS BEING ASKED.

On screen print too small
Good program but the font size used by the program on screen is too small and difficult to read ... had to turn my magnifying glass on. Increase font size and I'd rate this program as excellent!

Reliability
This year's tax program was very shaky. Pages would skip and you know you missed a page but having to go back was a pain. Hopefully it improves for next year or I will return to the paper booklets. Less frustrating.

Worst TurboTax Release Ever
This release did not have Easy Step working at all. When you clicked on that option you ended up at a dead end and had to use the forms method.
Woe betide you if you do not know the forms method.

Make it easier to go back and forth within Turbo
I had to go back a couple of times b/c I needed to change some things and it was really tough to get back to the place I wanted. I had to go so far back and then go through all these pages to get where I needed to be. I should be able to click on something easier and just go to the place. It was a big waste of time and other years your product seemed better. Please change this for next year.

The old way was better!
I started a return, I realized I needed more info. Later when I tried to restart or continue with the return I found out I had to start all over again. Never once was I asked if I wanted to replace the one I started. Now I'm not sure what happened to the first one

medical benifits
This year it Kept telling me I had more than 5000.00 or 5% of my income in medical expenses and saying I was at risk for being subjected to an audit. I have been doing the same amount approximately for the last few years as I have to travel for the help I need.
After going through my claim about 4-5 times I finally find a site that tells me there is a "bug" in it and to ignore it. I find this unexceptable and now left wondering if my claim is right at all.
I'm not so sure that I will be buying this next year.

Backtracking in easy step
I found it very frustrating to try to go back to Capital Gains/Losses to indicate that I wanted to deduct a capital gain from capital losses of other years. After 1/2 hour of going back and forth I finally had to introduce a deliberate error to get the tax saving opportunities review to let me enter the amount I wanted to deduct from earlier years.

Save failures - Complete re-do required
While completing my taxes for the first time, I saved my file midway as always, then again near my point of completion. Upon completion and Review, I was prompted for saving... I saved again. I then closed the application and returned again two days later to finally Netfile. My save file was missing! Drive searches based on name or date ranges produced nothing. The recycle bin revealed nothing as well. I had to begin again from scratch. I was quite disappointed in the product this year, and in particular since I am an IT professional and have been a faithful user of QuickTax since 1998.
Since this anomaly, I'm unable to recommend TurboTax to my friends.
