This is the most user friendly program on the market. The price for the programs is reasonable. However, if you want to add additional forms the cost is astronomical, way too expensive.

CONFUSING.
It took 3 years with this product to find a Canadian Province in the drop down menu. now I am having trouble finding the forms to enter child fitness totals. I entered a provincial total and only in the closing tips did I get directed to the Federal entry now in the summary it only shows Federal?????

steeling information
This app does nothing new except force you to provide email address and passwords before you can even start the program. This is just a greedy grab from intuit and now they have to option to sell my information to the highest bidder. I'm email them right away to have my account deleted and all trace removed from their records. It's crazy that you have to give personal info for no reason other for them to use it for their own purposes.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, Unless they decide that customer privacy is important.

cannot download CRA slips
The 2025 TurboTax T1 program would not download the tax slips from the CRA website. This was a known problem as I called into TurboTax support to confirm that this was an issue, and it was never resolved satisfactorily. It may have worked for some people, but others like myself had a problem, causing additional time that was wasted having to rekey all the slips into TurboTax

CANT RECOMMEND A PRODUCT WITH ISSUES
TURBO TAX HAS A NUMBER OF LONG STANDING (COMPLAINTS OVER YEARS AND YEARS) ISSUES. ISSUES LIKE 1) CANNOT APPLY A CURRENCY RATE TO ALL T5 SLIPS THAT ARE OFTEN IN USD WITH MANY BOXES ON EACH 2) THE RENTAL FORM HAS AN ERROR THAT REQUIRES YOU TO PUT IN DATA TO A BOX NOT CORRECT FOR THAT OPTION BUT IT MAKES THE MATH WORK - THIS CAME FROM TT HELP THEMSELVES! AND, WELL THATS ENOUGH IRRITANTS.. JUST GOOGLE TT ISSUES.

This year it sucked
I have been happy using TT for over decade. This year I go to use it and it fails to retrieve the correct information from downloaded T4 slips and I didn't catch it until later. Then I have to go back and input the numbers MANUALLY. I have to also double check to make sure nothing else is screwed up. I'M NOT IMPRESSED. Fix your broken tool or kiss off my business next year and anyone I can tell about this about.

Program does not support Windows 10. Usually share product with my sister. She installs it on her computer and I on mine. Could not do this with this release. Error telling me program was already registered. Had to buy another program. :(

Desktop Version access codes hard to obtain
Warning, activation codes can only be purchased through third parties, and will take min 30 mins, but sometimes 24-48 hours... One didn't come, so I cancelled and tried elsewhere, which didn't come but then the first one did, and I have since got no refund and the activation code for digital download has been delayed by UPS due to weather!! Instead of a refund Ive got UPS trying to deliver something. Imagine if netflix was like this for streaming your favorite show, taking >48 hours and 3 chats and 2 purchases.

Enough of this
I have been a loyal user of this software for the last 15 years and it gets worse and worse instead of better and better. Explanations for what things mean in easy step are crap - i routinely am filling out things that are not necessary and honestly i have no idea why errors occur when they do. in 2026 this is unacceptable - I am done

Has gone down hill in recent years
I've been using Turbotax for years but past few years the experience has dramatically gone down hill. First the mandatory requirement to create an Intuit online account is terrible. I just want to file my tax return. Next, it's constantly upselling to me - STOP IT !!. Next all the warnings and errors are the same ones year after year. Need to look for an alternative. My taxes are quite simple.

The product is terrible. It takes several attempts to activate, saying that I am not connected to the internet even though I am connected to the internet. I have to call and spend a long time on hold for your staff to tell me they don't know why it isn't activating.
Similarly, when I try to netfile file return, it doesn't connect saying that I am not connected to the internet even though I clearly am connected. After restarting turbotax a number of times, it finally connects to the internet.
Whatever code or methodology your programmers are using to determine if my computer is connected to the internet is terrible.

Useless help for problems
This was the worst experience I've had with Turbotax, and I've used the software for 15 years. The help desk was useless to solve my problem as was the CRA. Apparently the change in the capital gains inclusion rate and its cancellation was insurmountable for Turbotax. I have no confidence going forward in your problem solving abilities. Useless

Worst year yet
Many warnings.
For students, the T2022 actually reduces the refund so not a benefit. Nothing to clarify if actually have to use it, or can transfer to a parent.
Too many warnings.
No where entered sold a property yet the warning for Schedule 3 shows up for everyone.
Connecting to the CRA through this has never worked, any year ever, yet it still offers it!

Riddled with "Bugs"
I have been using TT Standard for over 10 years. There has always been some "bugs" but this year the number was unacceptable. One example is in the declaration of Selling a Principal Residence. TT has many errors in this area which were confirmed, and documented, with the TT support team. No updates where made to the program before tax deadline and filing had to be done with a "work-around". One example is that TT has made fields mandatory in this area that are not required by CRA and will not let you proceed unless you put in some data.

Unbelievably Frustrating
The CWB (Canadian Workers Benefit) was listed near the very end, with language stating that it was OPTIONAL to apply. However, in reality, the software would NOT allow us to opt-out, forced an application, and docked our return by $1600. NO FIX. NO EXPLANATION. Started all over again, new return, only for the exact same thing to happen an hour later. Furious, and will be having our returns reviewed by a different service to see how badly Turbo Tax screwed it up and screwed us over for 2024.

Appears to be buggy
I had issues/questions with student tuition fees. After introducing the amount for 2024, the refund on the left decreased by about 1000 dollars. Also, on the student summary it was an indication for the amount available to carry forward for next year. That amount was exactly as the amount of tuition fee entered for 2024.

I keep getting error messages for a very simple tax return. There is no help from Turbotax and whatever had been posted did not work. There is no one you can contact to get help or it's very difficult to find help. Frustrating.
