2024 Program POOR
The program identifies errors but then gives insufficient guidance on how to correct it. The program seemed to ignore previous inputs and asked the same question three times on Splitting Income.

Too bad it has become a bloated product
Product has become quite bloated and slow now. Constantly going in circles to complete things, no easy way to bulk edit slips like T5008. And the worst of all: Intuit Account now required to use License Code for CD/Download version. If I could rate less than 1 star I would. Used to be a great product, but not anymore. Do not recommend at all.

Did not Netfile my returns!
Software would not transfer data from our 2023 returns. Software was not able to Net-file our returns to the CRA after multiple tries. We have been net-filing our returns with turbo-tax for many years without major problems. Software needs major improvements!

Software bugs
T5008 values were not transferred to the Schedule 3 form. There was no error warning about this and was found after netfile was done. Also no notification of the bug sent to users who are unaware. I have used this software in the past with no issue.

Worst Purchase Ever
Forced me to create an account and provide personal information. Then it skipped some questions not allowing me to submit netfile, not user error in this case because TurboTax skipped the question.
I will not be using TurboTax any longer due to this, will go to the other competitors.

Very poor quality this year
I have used TT for many years. This year is likely my last. Bugs that aren't fixed a week before filing deadline. Handling of Capital Gains and T5008 terrible - entries not carrying forward results in errors in TurboTax calculations. Manual work-arounds required. NO INTEREST/ACKNOWLEDGEMENT from Intuit.

Not Great
3 years in a row the medical optimizer chooses the wrong person to optimize the return. It automatically defaults to the lower income but if do that in our situation my total tax refund is less.
Three years now this has been the case.
Customer service line is pathetic. Voice recognition DOES not work. Basically unuseable.

terrible communication from TT for 2025
I experienced the CRA errors when trying to net file my 2024 return like so many others. Turbo Tax did not keep users informed as to what was happening with fixing the error - just kept blaming CRA or didn't make any updates to their out of date posts and email. Shameful.

Quality control needs work
After more than 10 years of using Turbotax the last 2 have been less than satisfactory. The program is riddled with errors causing the need to refile taxes last year and days of trying to solve this years issues with box 21, 52 and 53.

USELESS to try to contact them to deal with product defect.
Medical summary is NOT CRA compliant. Be WARNED!!
It totalises the second sheet and does not itemise the expenses as entered into the software. This creates a NIGHTMARE to try to get screen shots of the itemised info along with matching receipts to CRA once requested.

Worst Purchase Ever
I've used turbo tax every year for over 20 years and never have I had problems with it like I did this year. After filing the returns, I saved them in what I thought was tax format, apparently it wasn't or it just didn't save them because now I can't find them and the program glitches and tells me there is a problem with the cd. This program was a box with a code in it....there is no CD!!! Plus this program was extremely difficult to install and glitched at least 7 times while just trying to download it. All that and on top of things it cost 10$ more than last year and I actually got a CD last year. If this is what these companies call progress than they need to go back to the drawing board. I will never use this program again and I won't be recommending it to anyone else either. Tax time is hard enough on people without companies like Inuit ripping people off by charging more for less and messing everything up.

Terrible Edit Checks and Warnings
I had endless grief trying to enter my T3 information. Turbotax reported errors with the T3 numbers only in the final Review stage, and did not indicate which slip had the problem. The error messages were cryptic instead of helpful. The edit checks should have been performed when the data was entered, not at the end of the process. My filing was delayed 3 weeks because of Turbotax issues and their lack of support.

Lack of Timely Support
The issue with Capital Gains this year was reprehensible. Problems with the software were pointed out by users back in February yet a fix wasn't available until April 17. This is not acceptable.
Also, when Netfiling you ask if I want to set up an account with CRA or "not ready to go paperless yet". I already have an account with CRA so I am forced to say I'm not ready to go paperless. What about an option "I already have an account with CRA"?

Do not buy
Many problems with the software this year and I have used it for many years. The T3 problem was never corrected and it should have been an easy fix to eliminate the need to fill in Box 52 and 53 and just fill in Box 21-spend hours fixing it and trying numerous solutions suggested online-kept waiting for an update to fix the problem-it never happened

Viewing Issues

Fix the problems
There are entries for capital gains in the automated T3 entries, But they were not Propagated to the T936 for so CRA netfile results in error code #95365 and if I the fields in the T936 to correct the error then I cannot netfile My tax return. I have spent 2 or 3 days trying to figure this out and I could have done my taxes manually in less time and saved a day and the money wasted on Turbo Tax.

Crap software that gets worse every year
