DO NOT Trust the software
AWFUL. Spent 3 hours on something that was an easy 30 minute return. WILL TELL everyone I know not to trust this as saw too many glitches and inconsistencies when I was forced to enter my return twice

h opinion
Software is unstable, untrustworthy and not worth anything. Kept reloading the starup screen many times and in the end would not send it to CRA so I'm mailimg it to CRA

dissapointing
firstly after spousal forms completed file failure and not usable....completed individuals returns and then the Netfile failed, CRA refused stating contact software provider. Errors will not ignore and do not pertain to me.
Support not returning email....have used for many years and have simple returns....would like a refund!!!
tried the rating survey which is by third party and it is poorly constructed...

Full of bugs after years 'll never buy it again
We had the simplest of a joint return to prepare. 1- me, with pension income and pension splitting (a T4a) + a single charitable deduction + property tax credits to claim, 2 my wife's - A straight forward T4 (work income) a T4a, and a T4e for income. That's it! I expected 15-20 minutes to do it. Thanks to bug after bug in this year's turbotax software it took me 4.5 hours.
Some of the frustrating crap - (I did them 4 times over before I was done & able to net-file) it gave me ghost warnings (for lack of a better term) about errors. Errors that were not there. Example -It told me I had claimed a senior credit i was not eligible for. I went back & found NO I DID NOT claim it/check off that box. I spent a lot of time trying to get "TurboTax" to recognize there was no error entered -Turbo tax itself was in error. There were no boxes to uncheck/check or anything to change. After lots of wasted time, frustrated out of my gourd, I gave up trying to fix ghost errors that did not exist, & decided CRA would see there were no errors. So I should just file as is. BUT When I tried, I got a message saying this error prevents me from net filing.
I had to shut down, re-booted and start again from scratch. I ended up doing this 3 times.
Another bug - when I tried importing from CRA - CRA didn't recognize TurboTax as valid to receive this information. another bug - it would not let me choose which forms to print & save. I tried to select my forms, and my wife's forms popped up instead. Bug after bug after bug. I'm so tired of this. I'm done with Turbo Tax. I can't understand how they put out such an terrible program after so many years of doing well. There were many other frustrations, I'm just tired of it at this point. I now hate Turbo Tax with a passion.
In case you are wondering I've been using Turbo Tax for many, many years. I'm not an inept idiot. Everything was up-to date. My operating system, browser, security, anti virus software - everything. My C drive was cleaned up and defraged before I installed Turbo Tax, and updated it. On a laptop running Win10.

Major upgrades are required
Program is getting worse every year! TurboTax is subject to errors and has become difficult to navigate. Manitoba Provincial Tax page font is so small, it is almost impossible to read. Without some major upgrades, I will definitely look for another source to complete my tax return.

Navigation Can be better
Definitely the navigation structure could be improved. As well, the import of T-Slips from CRA should have "safety" incorporated into the "import process" to eliminate accidental download of duplicate T-Slips entries.

Terrible Program this year
I have used turbo tax for years. This year, your program was a complete failure. I can usually do our income tax in 2 days, because of filling in medical data. This time it took me so long and it kept putting in the wrong totals for my T4s. Sometimes it would add another 15,000 dollars another time over 20,000 dollars. I had to manually fill in and do my taxes on paper. This is the worst program you have ever put out. So confusing I didn't know whose return I was working on. It would not allow me to access the help button, and when I called the Intuit number I was finally transferred to a live agent who promptly hung up even before I began to speak. 2nd try the same thing. Poor customer service.

Unhelpful "experts" & no value added
Dont even bother using the "expert" help ~ you'll get more & better info off of the CRA site or other tax preparer's info sessions / FAQ.
Being constantly upsold for unneeded products & services is annoying and unnecessary and wastes my time - no value added.
All in all, a bad product that has gotten worse and only out for the buck as opposed to providing something useful to their clients.

Unacceptable Lockup
If getting NOA from CRA and CRA doesn't respond, Turbo Tax locks up and you lose your current data. This is totally unacceptable and is very poor programming

CRA links do not work
I spent my entire night trying to register Turbo Tax to CRA website. The links for both are horrid, do not work, kick you in and out, and in the end, now my CRA account is locked out. The system sends you to a link for login, that was horrible (thats our crappy govt), but then does not bring you back. I had to log out of the CRA, now I can't get back in. Very poor value
For 2021, for even the simplest taxes Intuit wants an upgrade to Premium, which is too expensive. Also, the online version does not allow the use of the forms method, so you can't see your return. For Linux users, Turbotax is useless.

went through filling out my Return only to discover could not print a copy. Then found out was not able to Netfile because red circle would appear when tried to click to Netfile. Was a waste of money using Turbotax for 2021 tax return.

There are errors in program if you worked in Ontario and Quebec during the year. Spent several hours on the phone with Turbo tax a few days ago, but unable to correct the problem. Error codes 95026 & 90312 according to Revenue Canada

Horrible program
No help unless you pay them 54.99CAD. Asks the same question several times. Once it reaches the end, it asks what your plans are for the year. None of Turbo Tax business what I plan on doing next year. Although the CRA says that we can claim work items, Turbo tax won't permit you to do it unless its Covid related. Too much garbage with this program this year. I definitely wasted my money this year.

I used this program last year and it was super easy but this year was an absolute nightmare, the help that you provide doesn't actually help and there are things on it that make absolutely no sense what so ever, you should come out with a program for younger generations that actually help guide you through doing your taxes step by step and explaining all of these things that we were never taught in school because the older generation deemed that it wasn't necessary to learn

Crashes constantly when interfacing with CRA
I've previously used online versions of Turbotax and it was great. This year I ended up with the downloaded version and it hung repeatedly when interfacing with CRA website. I will be trying a competitor next year. Also, I couldn't get the information saved from previous years from Intuit, as I could when doing using the online product.

Turbotax keeps getting worse.
I've used Turbotax for 18 years. This is far and away the worst version of the program I've encountered. Many sections are poorly worded, weird changes to the organization and the help section has been crippled.

Cant find help with scenarios, what goes where or why, always bugged to buy higher priced pieces of garbage and upscale to unneeded or unwanted versions, got BSOD 3x using it - will never use their products again ...

Turbo tax useless-no customer service support
I purchased 2018, 2019, 2020 CD's for filing. I am a bit late but
filing 2018-2019 I could not get updates or print the resturn
for 2020 i couldn't download on windows 7
Now way I was able to get hold with tech support.
No longer will be using Inuit product after over 10 years of use.
