Lost Data
We completed the TurboTax returns and saved the files onto our computer. The next day the files disappeared and could not be recovered. Your software is unstable and needs to be fixed.

Poor Purchase
On the end and you need to file your tax return to CRA it says that our records indicate that you are not filling your income tax for the first time with CRA.

a step backwards
This year's edition was poor. Generated all sorts of extraneous forms but didn't actually have required information and bad links. I've used this for almost 20 years but after this year's experience will rethink for next year.

not user friendly
unless you have experience doing taxes by yourself, this product is not user friendly. constantly looking up meanings and sometimes the warnings lead to making errors and mistakes that makes you start all over to double check .

Disappointed
This 2019 version did not pull in my profile from previous years so I had to input it all manually.
RRSP portion very confusing
Many lines were very confusing in the line wording making choosing a yes or no answer was difficult
All previous years software was easy and intuitive this year was brutal. I may hire my taxes out now as I can't trust this software any longer

OTHER THAN BEING VERY USEFUL TO ME AS I PROCESS , IT HAS NO USE IN FILING
wHAT IS SO HARD ABOUT ALLOWING ACCESS TO THIS PRINTING OF THE SUMMARY
ALSO YOUR PROCESS IN EFILING AND TRANSFERING INFO TO AND FROM CRA'S MY ACCOUNT IS A NITEMERE
NOTHING EVER HAPPENS THE WAY YOU SAY IT SHOULD I ALMOST GAVE UP AND SENT IN MANUAL
HOWEVER AFTER 2HRS OF PERSISTENT
EFFORT AND WORKING THROUGH A CRASH OF YOUR PROGRAM, I WAS ABLE TO EFILE.

terrible don't buy
I've used turbo tax even before it was called turbo tax. It has gradually gone down hill to the point where I've finally decided to never purchase it again. Not only has it become a sell sell sell platform, the help functions are worthless and moving around to go back to check any entries or edit them is not as easy as it used to be, almost impossible. If your trying to follow the program it will lead you into wrong entries or lost deductions. I'll bet this review does not get published, second time trying because it has rules to follow but only gives them after you try to submit the review.

Hard to use
When getting to filling, there were errors. I fixed all except one. The program will not accept the info it is asking me to enter. Therefore, I cannot use Netfile. I tried fixing the problem multiple times without success. Further, I have to pay to get on-line help from Intuit. Not acceptable.

confusing
I filed both mine and my wife's return.We have had a CRA account for years. You did not state that as a direct debit option for paying taxes when I filed mine first. Did not receive any notice that my wife's return has been accepted by CRA. I see a confirmation # but none to print for my records. Poor instructions folks!

Netfile Issues
The Netfile did not work as it needed an update; however, I have the CD. I spent numerous hours trying to fix the issue, to no avail. I spent 4 hours with the support on 2 separate occasions and finally the situation was resolved.
I have use Turbo Tax for 5 years without a problem, so very disappointed this year.

Total Available Returns
The screen that lets you see how many returns you have used on license and returns available is not available once is disappears, even when you use the back button. There is no way to go to a summary report or details to review what returns were used. This is disappointing and frustrating.

Won't let you change Canada Workers Benefit
It claims the Canada Workers Benefit for me when my family income is too high. The page for selecting the benefit won't let me opt out and only lets me select myself or my spouse as the options for claiming it. This is a SERIOUS flaw in the TurboTax Standard software.

No support for Windows7 - I was told the 2019 software would load in my machine but that wasn't true.

2019 was not a good year
I have used Turbo tax since 2013. I never have had any problems except for this year. I was in the middle of doing my taxes when I got an update request which led to an error code. Several uninstalls and installs later I got the latest version online. Not sure why my Purchased product was not appropriate. Very disappointed this year!

Crappy Once Again
Same old crap but harder to use. Needed to uninstall and download correct software because the cd in the box was wrong.

Drives me nuts!
This is a great example of how not to design an application. I feel like I am always fighting with it to find stuff. There are no warnings if you enter slip information then try to leave the dialogue without saving - so 1990s. The review process doesn't seem to know that you have already done the stuff it suggests you do. It seems like 100 windows get opened and sometimes they get tiled in such a way that you can't work with any of them.

More and more buggy
I've been using Turbo tax for ~20 years. While it's easy to use, it's getting more and more buggy. Many problems with T2125 forms - I've managed to find work-around in the past but this year, there's a serious bug preventing CRA from accepting my Netfile. The Review tool gave no error. Support didn't find anything either after 2 hours. Previous years were exactly the same but my submissions were ok. Been asked to submit Care file but given that I don't have a guarantee that my SIN/DOB would be obfuscated - can't do that. Finally, I've to print out and submit on paper for this year - not giving much confidence for next year.
