Some really faulty things! you can check and work around stuff like dividends not filling the from correctly and other lame stuff worth about $5 not over 30

False hope
Turbo tax told me that I was going to be getting a $1000.00 tax return and as I filed my taxes and sent it to CRA, it told me that I had to pay $457.00. I was completely shocked that Turbo tax did not warn me nor inform me about the payment. I am completely dissatisfied with this experience.

I have been a user for several years and always satisfied. This year was different! The CD product purchased in stores this year had a " glitch" and would not work. I was on the phone for more than an hour ( was put on hold and then hung up on!!!) If you were aware that your product was defective it should not have been put on the shelf!!!

I've used TurboTax for at least 15 years. I've enjoyed using it until this year. I don't have to tell you the changes that you've made. They're awful. I've used business and personal programs. I've always found TurboTax simple to use. Not anymore

Reduced functionality for more money
Very disappointed with the direction TurboTax is taking. They have now reduced functionality and are charging more. The Standard edition no longer contains the Pension Splitting Optimizer. I have used TurboTax for many years but will be looking for another option.

frustrating mess
product freezes continually.
support is useless. Spent total of 5 hours on phone for simple question. 2 hours on hold. Had to call back because I was given incorrect information on two questions. second call spoke to another untrained uninformed person. so cost me my time and effort to fix the problem they caused through the ignorance of the "help line personnel". Should have taken me a couple hours tops to complete taxes, instead it was several weeks due to constant freezing and errors on the part of the program. took me two weeks , walking away and trying again to connect with cra. turbo tax said it could not connect yet cra was open at my account. garbage. horrible experience. And no it is not my computer. this program is the problem.

Don't do once what you can do twice
Was great fun when just before submitting my wife's 2019 tax return last week, I decided to perform one more "turbo tax update", you know, just to be safe that I had the most up-to-date version.
Surprise! The "update" wiped out all the 2019 tax data entered and I got to do it all over again. It was only an extra 4 hours to reconstruct it, but 2 times the fun!
Told everyone I know about that hidden little gem in your software. If I can avoid buying next year - I will. And I've been a user for more than 12 years in case you're shrugging this reviewer off as being an inexperienced newbie.
Thanks for nothing.

What a headache!
I have used TurboTax for four years. This was the first year I was very disappointed with it. It was a complete struggle from the beginning. The version downloaded from the CD was corrupt/ had to reinstall from the website. This version wasn't much better (many errors in the program for 2019) 12 hrs later after constant problem solving I have filed my very basic tax return. It kept inflating my income, wanted me to pay extra taxes and thought I owned a business( would not let me submit my return until I put in an industry code). Thanks TurboTax I'm probably getting audited now! Would have been faster if I had done it the old paper way lol.

Why so many iterations at the end?
Why does TurboTax not streamline the end of the filing process. Not two or three times, but ONE TIME to save your TurboTax file, ONE TIME to save a pdf copy of your return - that's it!

Bad CD & Constant Glitches
Original CD purchased at Costco would not update when loaded & was not capable to file taxes due to failure. If CD's will not function properly then why sell them. Go to straight on line version & set up simple renewal process for returning customers. NOTE: did NOT want to use your online version - don't want that much personal information floating in your cloud servers to be hacked at will.
Not-user friendly instructions on how to replace CD version with download version took longer than it should have.
Once loaded, software froze & had to be rebooted all through the process. Created many delays & problems throughout. Not clear whether the freezing & delays were caused by compatibility issue with Windows 10 Version but this should have been tested before release or better updates provided.
Have used TurboTax for 6-7 years - this version was by far the worst! If this is path TurboTax is on, will NOT use it again in future.

Confusing
UI feedback on whether the review was filed in non-existent, and CPP being split into two boxes without proper explanation as to why (enhanced CPP changes to 2019 tax code) were both major sources of confusion that required extra research to determine that the program did not make a mistake.

Worst Version Ever

Errors
I have used this product for 15+ years, this year is a disaster. Many errors they do not seem to want to correct . Worst is - error saving, even though you have tons of space. You never know if you have a good version or not ---- will not use next year

Not much support available
Had an issue with entering the Caregiver amount. First level support was not able to resolve the issue, and there is no way to speak directly to second level. A totally frustrating experience. Ended up using a competing product which worked.

Not the best
Omits important entries of information in easy step such as tuition transferred from a child on the parent's return. Make sure you switch to forms mode to double check everything and make additional changes where required. Also when you enter into the program it does not tell you which returns you have netfiled already. Each return says "continue" regardless of whether you have submitted it to CRA or not. Should say "Netfiled on Apr XX/20" and "Do you need to amend the netfiled return" if necessary on the home page.

Not worth it
Confusing - need to search up have the stuff (and it doesn't let you cut and paste to do that). Annoying prompts to upgrade or get additional services. Kept freezing up. Lots of better products out there. Won't be using anymore.

Turbo tax made an error
25% of a number greater than zero does not equal zero. Had to override the field and mail in the Tax Return. Turbo Tax does not allow you to NETFILE if you over-ride a number. Very disappointed in their error and the inconvenience of having to mail in a paper return. (Would have lost over $1200 in tax refund if I didn't catch the error.)
