Program purchased, installed and registered. Will not update as requested, will not print or netfile. Every time I try to update it tells me to properly install the program!!!! Won't be using this program anymore.

Don't waste your time or money
I had used professional tax software for years when working in accounting firms. Then i went to Ufile when I left. For the first time, i have used turbotax. What a waste of time and money. First, the software made some major errors that created a 5K$ liability VS what Ufile had calculated. (I saw something wrong so tried Ufile online to compare the 2). After close to 10 hours of trying to reconcile all the errors, I got to the same results withing a few dollars. I then tried to netfile (Quebec retrun) and was not able to. It was telling me I have to fill out a form that was already filled out.
The software is extremely slow and painfl to navigate VS Ufile. The only good point was the forms mode.
The errors and review steps are painfully slow to navigate.
In the end paid again for another piece of software because I wanted to netfile my returns.

Too many advertisments
No I do not want to pay for you to review nor to have your lame audit defense. Add those to the fee to use your cumbersome software and it is more than professional preparation.

What a mess
As a retired software developer I find my experience with turbo tax has deteriorated to the point I may not use it again. If you pay your developer for the number of screens the user must deal with (unnecessarily) then they have certainly earned their pay. I have never seen such a mess of redundancy . I had to enter my personal information on numerous occasions ..... totally uncalled for...receive it once and repeat using the information whenever it's required

Versions incompatible
In 2019, it is inconceivable that their own product is incompatible with each other. If you purchase the online version one year, and then the offline version the following year, you have to reenter all the information again.

For some reason this year the software is harder to set up, harder to use and keep sending me around in circles. I have been using turbo tax since 2011 and not sure I will use it again.

Repetitive, asks same questions over and over. Continuously tries to up sell other services. Pathetically slow. Product becomes more cumbersome to use year after year. Will be looking for alternatives next year.

T1135 Still Unusable
So, how many years has it been that the CRA accepts T1135 electronically?
TurboTax refuses to add the feature to add extra lines to this form which forces one to print and MAIL this part of one's return.
Couldn't be more ridiculous.

bad 2018 turbo tax

Return disappeared - Hours of work lost!
After carefully frequently saving during work, went to open return next day --- gone!!!!
Found out others had problem too. TurboTax made no voluntary effort to compensate or promptly fix. Beware!

Frustration
I've used the online version in the past with no problems and wanted to again, but when I bought TurboTax at the grocery store this year it wasn't clear that it was CD-only, with no online option. Problem is, for some incomprehensible reason, the CD version CANNOT use TurboTax online files from previous years (either from your TurboTax account or the ones saved on your desktop), so you have to retype everything by hand, which is BRUTALLY FRUSTRATING (the auto-import from previous years is one of the main reasons to use this product in the first place). After a complicated process I finally got to talk to a customer service rep who said I could get a refund for the CD version, but it would take up to 90 days to process and involved a lot of paperwork. She had trouble with my account before the paperwork was done, though, said she'd call back within 20 minutes because she was of "technical problems," and I never heard from her again. Overall, very poor customer service, very poor product experience. Intuit used to have good products and service, looks like that has slipped...

When I opened a claim, it showed that I would get back over 600 dollars and I hadn't filled in any information. As I work my way through the file, I have some hesitation as to how to understand. So, nearing the end, I decided to go back (the back button is not on every page) and I can't find a way to get back. Even the forward or reverse one screen buttons didn't show, so there I was at the beginning again filling in a new claim with all personal information all over again. The amount showing prior to the restart was that I owed over 1700 dollars. Now, with a new claim being started, the amount showing that I owed was considerably less (350.) Because I do my wife's tax along with mine , I found that I had to go back and forth from her paper work to mine on every page. I tried to do just one at a time by advancing forward with one claim and do all the paper work for that one person. Then I had to come 'back' all those screens to do the other person's file. (stay organized) The review stated that there were some errors that I should correct or net file wouldn't accept my claim. So, lets make corrections. I pay a monthly for a business to invest my paltry pension for which I am able to as a deduction. I claim it under business expenses. The error tells me it's carrying charges and I better make the correction. I hunted high and low and still couldn't find the right spot. The background screen shows the old 'page by page' method with the smallest of print on a brown paper. If one tries to see what works best pension and wage splitting by comparing a give-and-take balance, there is no gauge to go up and down the scale. And now you may be locked in with an error that has to be corrected. A nice feature when ready to print says "there are some pages that aren't pertinent to the claim, so they won't get printed". Sure!#. I got over 25 pages for each of us and one had an 'x' only in a 'no' box and one had 'duplicate do not send by mail' only on it. As you can tell, I am not the least bit pleased. I have been doing our taxes for many years now and the frustration level is always there. I thought that as the years passed, it would be easier to understand and my comprehension of the system would get better. I like to do our income tax, but I have second thoughts about buying your program next year.

Buggy
No autosaving and can crash when imports fail. TT401 error means you can save your return for easy import next year. Time to try new software and drop Turbotax

Worst version of Turbo Tax to date
By far the worst version of Turbo Tax ever produced. If your unsure what your allowed to claim this software wont help you. You have to know everything before hand.
They cut and paste some information from the CRA website but not the parts you need. So open up the CRA site at the same time so you can get the proper info.
The Back button is useless as it wont allow you to change what you have entered.
The only way to restart the process is to delete your old file. But if you do that you will be unable to enter RRSP info unless you use forms.
The list of bugs is very long.

when starting to use,,, the program run like A SLOW & OLD MAN.
so much frustration, because turbo tax has no tech support, to assist me on how to correct this problem. and this isn't my first turbo tax.

Get it Together with The Forms Input
If there is any issue at all when downloading forms from the CRA site the application just hangs. There is no cancel or back button. COMPLETELY AMATEUR. Had to go back 3 times from the start.

Multiple bugs, missing information
Program doesn't have an auto save feature and crashed, making you have to resubmit the entire tax return, while importing the tax slips from CRA and Revenu QC, if the connection fails or you`re still logged in the website, it will freeze, making you have to restart the application and if you didn't save, again you have to resubmit your entire tax return. Some tax related questions don't have any explanations and the questions are extremely unspecific, not even any results when I copy,pasted the exact questions on google, software gives you random warnings that do not pertain to your current situation at all even when you selected NO in the options. One example is the Marital status, clearly indicated the situation hasn't changed, yet the warning said please indicate your marital situation.

Bad year for me
I have used turbotax for over 10 years and it's been outstanding but this year was a real disappointment. My first return had to be done 4 times because I could not save it. The assistance was hard to get to and they were not able to help unless I were to lose all my work. After reviewing the community area for turbotax, I saw that many others had the same problem and the same poor service. Considering something different for next year.

Updates
I have used your product for the last 10 years and found it very easy to use. This year however the software would not accept the updates from CRA. I was on the phone with support ( very nice and helpful person) . I would hesitate to purchase this product in the future.

First time having problems
Program would not enter my Climate Action Incentive claim ($154) no matter how many times I tried. Not on line 449 or Detailed Tax Summary. I even entered a new Return for myself and still no luck!!!!!!
