Horrible year
Ridiculous the issues with Netfile this year. I used the product for many years but maybe never again. Waiting until mid-March to file and therefore delay my considerable refunds is not impressive.

glitches in program
Glitches in program: 1) when reloaded, it loses much of your previous entered data; 2) NO WAY to have written communication w company - just phone, which is useless to someone hard of hearing; 3) final print for filing doesn't print ALL of your return - had to print each form individually afterward.

not happy
couldn't net file til march 14 when it opened on feb 18. not very happy with turbo tax this year. ive never had a problem and very much would have recommended it to others until now. couldn't get straight answers of when it would be available from anyone there

TERRIBLE Phone support
Did 1 return successfully then got an error message when trying to opening it.
After 3rd call( over a weeks time) for Help they spent 56 minutes on phone but couldn't solve the problem. finally when the Mar 9th update was use it worked. What a great waste of time. I've been using it for years(even when it was called CanTax.
BUT NEVER AGAIN (: :(

Not user friendly
I have been using your software for 5+ years.
It is getting more complicated and no support at all. All I see is more ad for services.
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out from online sources. Very disappointed!

Forms Not Final until March 14
I have been a loyal customer of QuickTax / TurboTax for more than 20 years and I must say that this year was horrible in terms of the forms not being final until March 14th as I am usually one of those that file during the first week of March.

Turbotax
While entering my information, everything was going good until the end when either to save or print my return was required. Then things went downhill from there. An update was required to continue which I tried to do. An error code TT808 appeared.
I went support on web site which then mentioned that my firewall was the problem. I then disabled my firewall and tried again, no success. I then telephone directly support line only to told to google problem on internet with no result to problem at hand. I`ve used turbotax many times in the past without any problems before.

Can't Netfile due to software error
I spent two hours completing my tax return only to find there is a bug when you go to save the .pdf of my return. In addition, I cannot submit the completed return. Apparently this is due to a flaw in the software related to T5008 Capital Gains tax slip.

Not good for deceased person
Software did not allow address change for mailing purposes after the death of the individual and treated change as the disposition of the home which caused several Principal Residence issues to be raised.
Waiting for response from Help Desk but will be doing manual return for submission to CRA.

Bad tax software
I purchased standard and filed 1 return, when I went to file a second return it would not let me, said I had to purchase addition returns. I wont ever buy this software again. Just Awe-full!

Avoid if filing a Final T1 for deceased
Software made things difficult when retrieving a previous couples return due to a death.
Had to create individual separate files for the new year which was difficult since it kept asking me information for the other person. I had to keep closing one return, finding the info and going back and forth.
Also, It incorrectly calculated Form T1032 for the purposes of income splitting. I had to force override several fields. Box A would not match box H. It was putting only 5 months for the transferring spouse who is still alive.

Problem if you download CRA forms
This year, I downloaded CRA forms and then the Turbo Tax program did not follow the Step-By-Step model. I had to think of and enter any extra forms by myself and this made me not confident that the program had "thought of everything".

Forms not finalized
Can't Netfile. Can't print my returns for backup/storage. Paying interest on RRSP loans. All because you can't get your forms in order. I love TT and have used it for years - but this is absolutely unacceptable to be in the middle of March and not be able to file.

2018 worst ever

Very disappointed this year
I was very disappointed to discover that TurboTax standard does not allow a T4A to be automatically linked to a T2125. For someone who makes very little self-employment income, i find it unfair that you would require someone to purchase the Business version. Also, I called your 1-888 number of assistance, and was unable to get a single person on the line to help me with a software question after 40 frustrating minutes.

Not putting customers first
It feels like Intuit has not made any significant investments in this product or their customer service in the last few years.
I've been a user since 2006 and this year is very likely my last for the following reasons:
1. NetFile submission problem taking 2 weeks (and counting) to resolve
2. No phone or web support outside of business hours (personal tax returns are usually done during nights and weekends; need to adapt to customers)
3. Low quality visual/form rendering and various UI problems

I could not do the pension income split. Program would not recognize lines 116 and 220. My charitable receipts worked well, but the program then froze and refused to do charitable receipts for my spouse. I called the help line and was told, yes, there are problems with the program. I have used the program a number of years without real problems.

I have used Turbo tax for at least 10 years, this year's product not meeting my expectations.
Intuit seems more interested in plus selling additional services instead of offering a good basic program Incomplete updates, Inability to Netfile because so,e files are still locked (Mar 8).
Will be looking for a different product next year
