the turbo tax for 2017
I have been using turbo tax Standard for more than 5 years. This year's version is the worst. Questions are not precisely formulated which leads one to giving wrong information and answers. I still use it because the alternative is worse: there is no better tax help available (except to hire one accountant, which will cost several times of what you pay for turbo tax). Well, one gets only what you pay for.

Unusable if you moved from another province...
Impossible to use if you moved to a different province during the year. I moved from ON to QC and when entering my income info I was unable to modify based on where I earned my income. Like the software did not take into account that I didn't have to pay taxes in both provinces. Ended up using software from another company and had no issues.

Very Disappointed
After many years of using Turbo Tax I found this year's version to be user UNfriendly. I could not complete my return using the forms method and was instructed to use the easy steps method, which took considerable extra time. I will be reassessing my use of Turbo Tax for next year.

Disappointed
I have used this product for many years. This years version had a script error that popped up 100's of times during the timeframe it took to complete my return. Customer support not available during the timeframe I was able to complete my return.

Script errors big problem
Went back to Turbo Tax this year after a couple years using a cheaper program. "Script error" appeared at every input section. Had to delete 1 - 20 times to get program to move on. Very frustrating. Eventual success but will not purchase again.

Disappointed this year
Very disappointed this year. When there was a mistake entered, it would not allow us to delete and rewrite the proper amount. You could not easily go back to the page you wanted to go to, had to start over. When you were finished filing it won't start another return it stayed on the last page asking if you wanted to file. Very frustrating.

error messages kept popping up
Overall a very poor performer. The program did not auto fetch data, which has done in the past. Online help wasn't capable in fixing error messages that kept popping up.

Print function atrocious compared to other years, actually had to insert DVD to get load something to make the printer work. Each page was a script error and it would not stop running scripts so it was time consuming to navigate each page. I have used this program for many years without problems and this year was a wash. Will probably use it next year simply because this may have been a faulty install but if I have these issues next year, I will find something else!

Bug infested
From opening the box to finally filing, the software threw up error after error. The installer did not work automatically as the instructions said. I usually count on 45 minutes to install the program each year (which I found to be unacceptable and a sign of sloppy programming) - this time was well over an hour. The advice given in the help file did not work. About 90 minutes in I questioned my sanity for buying Turbotax yet again, knowing its reputation.
Even after getting the program up and running, the Java scripts would not run. Getting from page to page took multiple key presses to dismiss the error messages and bypass the broken java scripts. Filing a simple return took an hour past the horrifically slow installation.
There is no way I'll buy any product from this company again.

Very Poor
Intuit did not fix error. Yes I did complain both by email and by phone, but complaint was not responded to.
The repeated error message is very annoying. Enough is enough.

Buggy file system
Make sure you save the files in a separate folder when you are done. I opened the program to finish working on the return and could not find any of the returns that I had worked on the previous day. Windows reported them as recently used, but the files were deleted. I have ruled out any other influence.

Disappointed
I've used turbo tax for many years and after this year, it will be my last. There is no live agent to speak to for helpline support. This does not meet my need. Lots of time wasted on searching through pages of unrelated info.

Failed the simplest function
In the 60 days that I have had the product, each time the "Register this product" pops up, each time the registration fails and the message advises to try again. If the product can not perform this simple task, how can it be trusted to properly complete a Canadian tax return.

Very Frustrating
