I have used this pkg for many years but was very disappointed this year.
t2201 would not let me enter yes for the first question to say that I am disabled - file is with CRA
split pension - would not let me enter yes to split income but eventually did it automatically
when reviewing e.g. pension field would go blank when I went to verify the different entries from pension and RIFS

Really Gone Downhill
This year's version of TurboTax-Standard has been a very disappointing and frustrating experience. With every new screen one or more error messages come up and have to be closed before continuing. It no longer can be installed on older versions of Windows so that I cannot use my older stand-alone computer to keep personal info off-line.
As before, it is very difficult to override some of the entries, even when the forced calculation is not appropriate.
To print my return I had to pull out the CD, even though the TurboTax program was already previously installed on my computer (ASUS using Windows 10).
Sometimes the forms are not fully visible unless I close and reopen them.
So much for TurboTax. After 7 years of using it, I will not be buying it again.

It crashed, and I lost my progress
I would think that in 2018 there would be no application in existence which would lose 30 minutes worth of effort just because it crashed. Wow.

Worsst year ever
Worst year ever. Keep getting scriot error and tried everything to no avail. Errors about T5007 if you are status Indian called cra said softare error. Can't print cra copy even after putting disc in as instructed.

Buggy and too many upsells
Should be able to opt out of the upsells once you file the first return. Too buggy. I have done six returns now and each time I have selected Yes to do a new return it hasn't worked. I have to exit the program and relaunch. I have already paid for the program and each return I get upsell after upsell. I am processing returns for seniors and students in my family making less than 20K, I don't need all these constant garbage upsells. Will be looking for a new product next year.

Frustrated
Sorry I was not too impressed with turbotax this year. It was definitely harder than last year. I have just spent 6 hours completing 2 returns. I kept getting a danger symbol occurring through out the whole procedure. saying an error has occurred in the script on this page. It was slow going. Also, at the end when I went to pay, we had done a split income. Last year they just deducted what I owed from my husbands rebate. We thought the same would happen this year, but I had to pay separately. Trying to pay with a credit card was another nightmare. I am now sending a cheque. I think my time is precious and I am seriously considering having an accountant do my taxes next year.

Broken Software
the software is broken. constant recurring .js script error on every page. incredibly dissatisfied and my return took far longer than it should have with all of the errors.

Turbo Tax gave me wrong information
I sent my taxes in wrong because I didn't get a warning when I went to send my husbands his had a warning when I fixed it it changed my refund but mine was already gone.Now I will have to wait longer for my refund and likely will have to do an adjustment. Not happy

DON'T BUY OR USE TURBO TAX

Inputting the principle residence sale information was a disaster using free form. Finally had to answer the questions in order to get the information entered. It is not user friendly for an advanced tax person.

Poor
I've used Turbo Tax and its predecessors for more than 10 years. This is the first year that I would give the programme a POOR rating. It hangs, and when it hangs, you simply have to shut the programme down through Task Manager (or the equivalent) and all data since the last save is lost. Also, I find the marketing of TurboTax to be offensive. I would go with the Premium, but I don't need as many returns as it provides, and it is a jump of 4x in price.

FINE PRINT ON BOX NEEDS TO BE BIGGER
i WAS VERY UPSET WHEN I OPENED MY TURBO TAX AND TRIED TO INSTALL IT ON MY MAC BOOK AND THEN READ ON THE COVER OF THE BOX IN THE TINIEST PRINT THAT IT REQUIRES WINDOWS.

I've used Turbo Tax for years. This is the first time I've had a problem.
When I clicked on 'save' it went to 'save as' and couldn't find a file to save to. No matter what I did it wouldn't save the pdf files. I've had to print copies ....reams of unnecessary paper.

Errors
The software did not recognize the changes to the tuition advance in Manitoba that kept giving me an error- it insisted I enter a wrong number in the tuition amount for prior to May 2017- I did not, so it gave me an 'error' and would not let me efile.

endless errors
I used Turbo tax software for a few years already. This year was the worst experience. I encounter endless errors complaining of its Java script. If I could, I would return this software for refund. A total waste of my money and time.

Will not use again
Last year used the online TurboTax Standard. This year purchased the installed / CD version of TurboTax standard. Wanted to import the profile and carry forwards from last year. Called Intuit. They said no you can't do that. There was no solution. Means having to input profile and find the carry forwards from last year. it's daft. The Intuit online cannot interface with the Installed / PC version.

Deeply disappointed
This year was a VERY frustrating and confusing process. You are forcing users to use the "EASY STEP" process. I have NEVER used that process over the past 8 or 9 years. To wit: 1 example is you do NOT allow the change of the "Paid Installment (line 476 on T1General Form)", unless you have put in an amount via the easy step. NONSENSE. I do NOT WANT TO USE easy step. I have used the FORM process since I started with turbo. Also, I wasted 2 to 2 1/2 hours with your service personnel who also did not know how to fix this issue. That amount is the last amount I normally would enter. As a result, I was told to uninstall and re-install via download. Problem still not fixed. The cost of this service contact was enormous. Plus I wasted approximately 8 to 9 hours of my own time before I eventually had to lose everything and start over with the easy step which I found laborious and irritating. Even then I entered the wrong amount using easy step, (confusing instruction to enter quarterly amount). To change the line on 476, I had to go back and drill down to the screen for the Paid Installment screen. Again...NONSENSE. I realize that this critique will be completely ignored which is up to you. I will buy turbo tax next year, but if I get the same issue that I got this year, you've lost a customer because I'll take the $$$ loss and buy someone else's s/w. You have taken step backward in your s/w development. Actually, I think you have some serious BUGS. It's too bad, because I found the FORMS process easy since I started several years ago.

Why did I pay for this
Did not enjoy trying to figure out why I could not netfile my return. You think before selling a program you would test it first. Why I would have to wait until March 1st to get a update is frustrating beyond reasonable. Is your company going to re-emburse for interest on $ lost and my valuable time?
