Worst help for this year
The help has been reduced to almost nil this year. it cannot find out errors to help with the tax filing, it has hardly any tax saving tips. My tax return got filed by netfile and my spouse tax return could not be netfiled, with no proper explanation as to what the problem is, I had to finally print and mail the tax return, causing a lot of difficulty and sense of low quality software with what I had used in my previous years. I am utterly dissatisfied with the product and will like to look for other alternatives in the next year.

Tutbotax Bugs
I bought your software online and downloaded it and made all the updates.After I filed my return early march, many fixes were still being updated.
The software did not accomodate the sale of principale residence and many of your customer will miss reporting it.
Fonts are smaller in 2016. Some of your schedule do not accept entries.

reassesment every year.
from last 3 years its not accurate at all. it files and then reassessment comes and i have to pay back $800-1000 back to CRA. So much for accuracy guarantee.

Poor Help Function
The software is pretty easy to use - no help needed there. However, I needed some guidance regarding tax rules. Every time, in about 5 or 6 areas, that I clicked for help I had to type in a question. It was not context sensitive at all. Pretty useless really. Being in software development myself, I know how easy context sensitivity is. If my cursor is in a field like "Medical Receipts" if is a trivial thing to go directly to help related to medical receipts - a no-brainer.

Bad software
It has so many bugs I am not sure it even works. I had information disappear after hours of manual entry.
Never buy this product again. Probably many other people too. Somehow you managed to mess up a good piece of software

activation code used already

turbotax lack of precision
instructions and comments indulge in modern tapping overkill. on top of that the tax return file cannot be saved or printed in it's final form. this is like building a machine with drawings that have no meaning. lousy job! return to your previous more informative methods.

What that information is or was, is not listed. Leaving you to guess what that information might be or what that error is.
Your best case scenario is you have to guess what is on record and adjust, you don't know if you've done it correctly until you submit only to find out that it is still in error.
I would not use turbo tax again after dealing with such a headache.

Turbo Tax Terrible Product!
I have used Turbo Tax for many years but the quality of the product has gone downhill this year. Every click causes an error to occur which requires me to click in order to clear. There was no running tally of tax refund/owing like in previous years. I would not recommend this product unless they resolve these issues.

Download Issues
Unable to properly download program from website. Resorted to copying disk to usb thumb disk. Did not work and had to uninstall and reinstall program twice. Program finally worked but had an annoying script error message that i had to acknowledge on every page " c:\program files(x86)\turbotax 2016\++2016ir.dll/JS/automation.js " I have used turbotax forever and have never had issues. What changed? I will hire an accountant next year and save myself the grief and frustration

Worst Turbo Tax Ever
I have used Turbo Tax for years and this is the first time I have had nothing but trouble with completing the forms using the easy method. Then the printing was also a problem. I think it would have been easier to fill in the old paper forms rather than go through the grief I did filing for four family members.

Need to get updates right
For the last couple of years your auto-update feature does not work and it used to. get it together and get it fixed or I will use a different package. If I had these problems with a free version I would accept that but I pay every year and if you can't get your program to work like it should I will find a product that works. I can get it updated but only after lots of effort and figuring it out. The update is not even easy and convenient to find

Most disappointed
As a Quick Book user for many, many years, it seemed the right move to try Turbo Tax when I had to close my accounting business.
I was terribly disappointed in the software and the knowledge the customer service reps had. Surely an item like foreign tax credit is not complicated. The young women tried very hard to provide me with a solution but she didn't not understand the problem.
I'll definitely be looking for another software before next year.

a challenge
needed to go to an it to adjust screen to make sub forms readable.line 476 would not accept direct entry as advised by your help system so an undesired download from my account was used to input the data.have used your program for many years but next year will be your last if i run into similar issues.only gave a recommend to friends because i was finally able to submit what i believe is a correct submission on time but after a challenge.

TT 2016 - disappointing
does a poor job delealing with reporting sale of personal property
does a poor job handling an estate return and the related forms
seems this years version does less in regard to reporting capital gains etc than the versions several years ago.
Time to look for another tax program I guess

I buy turbotax every year & have never had a problem until this year. More often than not turbo tax was "not responding" which was very frustrating as well as being VERY slow.
On 1 return I did it said I owed $2000 & then when I returned to efile a few days later, without changing any information, it said there was a refund of $800!

doesn't do cap gains loss offset well
1) If you have previous cap gains losses - all in a table - TT makes it very hard to get at that table - far too hard - should be much easier It is easy to miss the offset. You have to really look for it. Far too hard.
2) Doesn't convert US$ amounts in the import feature into CAD - doesn't even tell you it didn't convert - so no warnings at all even though T5's have the USD (or other currency) coded into the form so not difficult for the programmers to use that - TT is being lazy here. Many many comment son the Internet telling TT they haven't done this stretching back years.
3) doesn't handle non-resident Canadian income very well

Poor Support
Have used this product for 10+ years. This year was the worst experience so far. Problem identified 3 years ago (by multiple users) has yet to be addressed. New problem this year was identified by others in AnswerXchange and was not followed-up or solved. Turbo Tax support for Canada is terrible - if you have a plain vanilla situation, you'll be fine. But, if you have more complex filing requirements and have a problem with the program, may as well forget it - there's a good chance you'll never get answers from the support team.

The Worst
This tax software is so slow to do something so simple. it is so restrictive its pathetic. The GUI is horrible and nothing is pleasant about using this software. Paying taxes is not enough, but we have to put up with this software.... Its an insult on top of insult. It feels like there is millions of code for nothing in here. Horrible.

poor quality software
ive been using turbotax for years now without any problems, but this yearès version is giving me nothing but problems and errors messages on my screen. it has been a disasters trying to get my taxes done. the T4 CRA import doesnt work nor does the actual netfile. i had to do that manually.
i will seriously reconsider using turbotax again next year.

I found this years, far harder to use and I was unable to compare results to previous years filings. Constantly said an update was available which I was unable to load. I admit I couldn't file my taxes with out it, but my frustration level was surpassed a number of times.
