The standard program is all you need if you are employed, retired, have a small service business, or all three (in my case). My spouse and I even had education deductions, medical expenses and charitable donations. Easy and straight-forward.

Medical expenses

Does the job effectively
Turbo Tax always allows me to do taxes without needing to pay a professional and for a reasonable price. The best feature is the ability to import all your receipts that the CRA already knows about which makes it way easier to do a return if you have investments with all those inevitable pesky investment income receipts. You only really need to add a few things unique to your situation and it's done. All the possible deductions are considered and suggestions are made for every possibility you can have. I also like to see how the resulting refunds/balance owing change as you add information so you can immediately see the impact of any change. And at the end the filing process is very easy once you get past all the warnings and fixes. I don't know how I could get this job done without Turbo Tax.

Turbo Tax is easy to use
I have used several tax programs over the many years I have filed taxes. Turbo Tax is easy to use if you don't understand the tax forms because it asks questions and you just answer them, but, if you know the tax forms and want to check your taxes over following the forms, you can do that as well. I would highly recommend this program and plan to use it again in the future.

TurboTax Standard for 2018
Once I had all of the relevant information collected, entering into TurboTax is a breeze, especially with the Easy Step method. My wife has a small photography business and I can still use the Standard version to log all of her simple requirements for her business. I particularly like the review process that identifies opportunities and catches errors within the tax return.
The net filing is so simple and makes quick work of the end of another tax year! Thanks TurboTax!
