Easier every year
Turbotax is easy to use and I found this year even easier than before. It can link to your CRA account and obtain information as well as provide your assessment at the end. There are tips at the end to help save you taxes. I have been using turbotax for 4 years now, it's great and it always gets better.

My review of TT Standard 2018
I suggest you modify TurboTax so that when the user says in her profile that she is splitting her pension income with her husband, that on save of her T4A pension income slip that Turbotax does the income splitting at that time of the save of this T4A slip. Similar to how capital gains income gets split on saving of the capital gains slips. It was very worrisome to me when TT did not split the pension income. I had to wait until I got much further into the process when the REVIEW step finally presented "do you want to split pension income?" suggestion. This was odd since I had stated in my profile that I was splitting my pension income.

Turbo Tax Issues
Turbo tax works really well except for trying to get out of the program. the program asks if you want to start a new return. if you say no, it then says the return you are working on has been modified do you want to save it. if you say yes or no it takes you back to the part where it asks you if you want to save the return. this program did the same thing last year. prior to that, when you said no it shut down the program or if you said yes it took you back to the opening menu. The only way to shut down the program is to hit the X button at top a number of times. this needs to be fixed.

Stop using grey text.

TT-Standard-2018
I've used Turbo Tax for many years, but I always printed and mailed in my Income Tax returns. This year, I was forced to use NetFile, because there weren't enough paper copies and envelopes provided by the government at the Post Office (last minute) as most businesses are going paperless. I was concerned to send my Personal Income info electronically, because I know that the internet is NOT 100% SECURE, even though the traffic is encrypted! Netfiling with Turbo Tax was quick and painless and (hopefully) secure, so it was a pleasant experience. Thanks Turbo Tax! I will continue to use the Turbo Tax software for future returns.

Ease of mind
It really makes that stressful time of year, a little more bearable. Program is pretty user friendly. I would only like TT to add more real life examples at the check list areas, sometimes I was unsure if I was to check off or not. Although, it was easy to go back if I should have e.g., if left with a slip to input etc... The majority of the time the questions are pretty straight forward, so input is pretty easy. This makes tax time quick and you can move on... until next year.

Did anyone else find Turbotax 2018 harder to use.
The Pension Splitting Adviser was harder to access this year & still difficult to compare options plus does not take into consideration the impact on which partner claims Medical Expense and other elections. It would nice if this was an "Independent Tool" which allowed you to compare various options side by side with the none splitting status, without changing the status of the return until you accept the criteria which best suits your case.
Also, the Capital Gains input fields are in a multi use input form but there is indication or warning that the usage field has to be completed before your input is saved.
In general the Software is intuitive.
