The Faster, The Better!
It used to be a 3 weekends long to fill our income taxes reports. The 1rst draft was really scary and painful with all those receipts that needed to be separated by names and dates. The 2nd weekend was the equivalent of a maths contest almost causing brain blisters. Finally, the 3rd weekend was to make a last revision and fill the official copy finally ready to be mailed the next morning.
When every paper was properly ruled out of sight, we used to received more T's something by the mail just enough to get an additional stress as if not enough already.
Nothing of that pain anymore! TurboTax came to the rescue! Best program ever for the Dummies and even for the Pros.

Confidence with doing your own Income Tax

Repeat purchases
I find Turbo Tax Standard fits our needs. It is easy to follow and easy to self correct. I think one should preview the whole form before starting to familiarize themselves and helps avoid having to go back for changes.

Best version yet!
Easy to navigate. Did a joint return downloading all our data from CRA to completing, printing and filing our returns in about an hour. I am confident of its accuracy. Well worth the cost of purchase.

It is good
The only thing I had trouble with was with medical expenses. The language was confusing (language from the government), but I thought that it would be nice if Intuit would give several examples of exactly HOW to file medical expenses, using examples. It doesn't tell you that you can just claim ALL medical expenses on one line and the software calculates the amount you can claim for you. PLEASE give more examples of how to do this.

Just one problem
I have used TurboTax and its predecessor for over 10 years and have always been very satisfied. The software is easy to use, maximizes my refund and I have never had any comeback from Canada Revenue.
This year, after finishing my return but before Netfiling it, I closed the return. When I went to reopen it, I got a TT403 error. I contacted the help line and found out that the file had become corrupted, and the attempt to restore from backup was not successful. This meant that I had to redo the return from scratch.
The company representative told me that this is a known problem with Windows 10 that the company is working on.
I work for a software company. Software with a problem like that should not be released, or should at least carry a warning.
This will not stop me from using TurboTax next year, but I am disappointed.
