Makes it easy
Turbotax is definitely my choice for doing our household taxes. We've used it for many years, now. I have a high level of confidence that I'm being shown my options for credits/etc. and I think the language used makes taxes as simple as it can get. The flexibility to help our parents with the same software really helps manage the ongoing work of taxes over many years, and keeps the cost of doing individual returns down (we do three returns as of this year, have done 4 in the past, so divide the retail price by the number of returns you need to do, and it quickly gets very cheap if you do more than your own, and it's not overpriced for a single return as it is)

It is easy to navigate through ...
... But there are some special tax areas around investments that are a bit confusing or not explained well, as to whether you are in that category or not. TOSI . Tax on split income. If you have a joint investment account and decide to split the profits, it is not necessarily a TOSI. That took an hour to figure out. I had already put in my portion of investment income into 'Other Inc' and TT's warning were asking me to fill in the T1206 ... and I didn't have a T3 as asked for. Perhaps a different Help question could be configured to eliminate the cross reference and hence, client confusion.

Straight forward and efficient
Our family has used Turbotax for many years now because it guides us easily through a task only done once a year. It is quick and I appreciate I can file with CRA easily and efficiently. I think my child could manage our taxes with this program.

Frustrating one way paths
This is fantastic software. But over the years I am frustrated by the lack of a continuous reverse (undo) path in the printing and filing stages, and the lack of any further action (done, save, return to T1) buttons on some forms. You fill items in a worksheet, and there are no indications what to do next. I normally can figure it out, but it is frustrating. I have been with this software since it was Cantax on DOS. Even then it was awesome. I used to print double sided on Revenue Canada blue paper, and glue two sheets together into one four page return.

Easy to Use Even For An Old Girl!
I am not a techie by any means. I hate computer programs and the internet. It's complicated. Last year, given COVID, I decided to purchase a TurboTax Standard on a friend's advice. I could not believe how easy it was to work with: prompted me when I missed data, gave me warnings when I entered something wrong that did not jive with previous entries. I highly recommend it. Simply awesome and easy to work with!

Excellent Tax Software
I have been using TurboTax, and its predecessor QuickTax, for many years. It has saved me countless hours and helped quickly complete my tax returns using the EasyStep question and answer format to walk me through the tax form preparation from start to finish. Importing the T-Slips directly from CRA is a huge reduction in time and a real convenience just as the Netfile service for submitting my taxes directly to CRA. I highly recommend this product!
