Turbo tax 2013 has much improved from previous years. The biggest improvement is the net file process. 1 click and your done. No more saving it as a file etc. I liked this the most.

Great annual updates, easier each year!!!
I am thrilled with the upgrades to TurboTax this year, Netfile now is so much easier, more seamless than previous years. Thanks TurboTax for making filing easier each and every year. Easy-do
From start to finish the Turbo-Tax experience shows through.
I have used this system for the past several years and found it straight forward to use and it gives plenty of chances to go back into the process to correct and update information.
After using some of the so-called tax return experts in past years I have nothing but praise and confidence in Turbo-Tax.

so fast to compare rrsp contributions
This was so much easier to do the whole family's returns! 2 hours as opposed to 2 days.
Fabulous to be able to do Mom and Dad's together.
The RRSP slider is so fantastic! Now I don't have to cringe when my husband says, 'What if we contribute ..." (I hate math!)
Why didn't I try it sooner?

Love this Program!
I used to do all my taxes long hand! Then 1 year I paid an accountant to do them because I had moved and wanted all the deductions I could get. But the accountant did not give me my northern living allowance. Tried this program years ago and just loved it!!! You do still need to have a very basic knowledge of what you can claim but the "review" and the "help" answered 95% of all my questions. What I couldn't find, I just called the tax help line.
I have bought this program since 2006 and wouldn't consider doing my taxes any other way!

Great, but too many upsells
It's a great program and very helpful, but it seems every year there's more and more optional up sells for "only an additional $XY.99!". Of course you can ignore them all but it starts to feel like an infomercial is helping you with your taxes.

This is the fourth year I have used Turbo Tax. Third year I Netfiled. Second year joint. Saved a bundle. Wish I could go back and joint file for 2011. Best program for Srs. to get all they are owed. Sr. split your Income. Puts you in a lower tax bracket. You get all your Sr. Personal exemptions. Even if you have never done your own taxes before, they will walk you through it step by step. I have done my own taxes for over 60 years and did not believe how much easier and faster it would be this year. Rutapin

Linux OS Needed
Although I highly recommend TurboTax for anyone who wants taxes filed easily and quickly, I am sorely disappointed that it is not available for LINUX OPERATING SYSTEM users. I have Linux on 4 computers, but have to maintain 1 dual boot Windows XP system just to do TurboTax. Now that Windows XP is no longer supported........?
TURBOTAX... PLEASE CREATE A VERSION THAT WORKS ON LINUX COMPUTERS. LINUX IS GROWING FAST!!!

makes life easier
WHAT'S GREAT: Makes tax prep SO much easier.
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT:
1. Further 'help' explanation needed with limits for household income ie. GST rebate etc. Although TT told me our income was too high for this rebate it did not tell me the limits.
2. Further help explanation line 305 schedule 5.
3. Did not find sidebar help of other uses questions helpful, often false or erroneous advice since they are simply other users, not tax professionals. Would be of greater advantage to TurboTax as a company to improve help explanations than use this community feature.

Turbo Tax 2013 Software
I have been using Turbo Tax Software for many years, and it is superb! While I do have an accounting background, and used to do Income Tax Returns for clients many years ago (manually!), and therefore have some knowledge of Income Tax returns, this software is one of the best. Easy to understand and follow, even for those unfamiliar with doing Tax Returns, with constant checks and reminders along the way, including tax savings tips.
The income splitting, donation and medical expense optimizers are just fantastic and having this capability reduced the taxes payable and saved us hundreds of dollars!
For the price you pay, compared with what Professional Tax Preparers charge, this is an excellent value. A few minutes of your time is worth the effort when looking at the savings when comparing prices with Professionals, and I’m sure the results are the same. I will continue to use it and recommend it to others.
