Still works on Windows 10
I was concerned because the box says "requires Windows 11". I detest Windows 11 so I'm still on Windows 10 for my main computer. Thankfully a family member was able to confirm to me that desktop version of Turbotax still works on Windows 10! It gives you a warning when you install it, but continues to work. If Windows 10 wasn't supported I would have gone to a competitor. Fewer bugs this year, but the "income not on a tax slip" using the "step by step" method isn't clear; I had to use the forms for that section.

Turbo Tax - Long Time User
Long Time User of Turbo Tax - Makes filing our taxes easy and done!. You do need to re-run the medical and pension splitting optimizer if the pension split changes the lower income earner for the medical expenses.

Windows 10 compatibility
If you don't make TurboTax fully certified with Windows 10, you will loose most of your market share. Nobody wants Windows 11. And nobody wants to scrap a perfectly good Windows 10 computer.

Good but $25k is too low for a tax return to count
I complete a tax return for my uncle, he has minimal income and he is always just over $25k so it counts as a tax return for a low income Canadian. This amount has not been adjusted and is unfair for someone who has 3 T4 slips (OAS, CPP and Senior income supplement). If the senior income supplement would not have be included in the $25k I would not have to include his return as a submitted application in my 8 available.

Good, but could be better
I've been using TurboTax/QuickTax for over a quarter of a century and find it generally intuitive and easy to use.
That said, there are a number of bugs that have persisted for years. Experienced users like myself are used to them and know what to ignore, and how to work around those that can't be ignored.
However, new users who may not know what to look for will miss some tax-saving opportunities, and may even submit returns with errors that will cause problems for them.
Intuit used to have an excellent peer help platform that allowed experienced users like myself to help newer users who may be experiencing difficulties, but they deprecated that platform a few years ago, to the point that I can't even be bothered to look for answers there or provide answers to others' questions that I am able to.

95% was easy
Some questions on self employment income were not clear because I receive a T4A slip for some small services I performed. A valid industry code was hard find, I had to consult the CRA website for the proper codes and turbo tax wouldn't let me continue without it...so happy to have google.

Joint Returns problem
When doing Joint returns for married couples, you should show Refund status separately, so that we are not surprised at the end that one gets a refund and the other partner has to pay.

Turbo Tax review
Each year I purchase Turbo Tax Standard. This year I had to purchase this program twice, first one was the online and the 2nd was the regular program. I usually don't have any deduction for those under $20,000.00 this year I had 2 tax returns $0.00 income to $5,000.00 taken off my online return program, and that was the reason for my having to purchase your program twice. Thinking twice about purchasing this program in the future. Especially since I have purchased Turbo Tax programs for more than 15 years.

Download issues
Have enjoyed using this product for years now. Last two years changed from CD to online download and as a Canadian the download will not work on the site directed to for the registration code to work. I found out last year, by online chats, that you have to go to the Turbotax Canada site in order to download the program and I had forgotten that this year when started and then remembered I had to do something different but could not remember, at first, what had to be done. This is very frustrating for Canadian users of the program and that should be spelt out in the literature that comes when you purchase the box from the store. It isn't a big issue but I would think it would turn some first time users off if they have a big issue trying to download & register the program and find out it is a issue with the information provided by the software owners.

Easy to use; could use a version for less returns
I've used TT for 20 years and the easystep method makes it easy to use. Been doing a coupled return for my parents for years but when my dad passed, they require you to split the returns which makes it more complicated. There doesn't seem to be a logical reason for this.
Also, I don't need to do 8 returns, wish they had a smaller version.

industry code, optimum donation
Need to do extensive searches to locate the "Valid industry code"
The donation optimizer is not accurate. The default is too much donation used. I had to reverse calculate to get the exact amount that I need to offset my income tax owing to zero.

Things worked well except when it came to adding my spouse's Net Income and both federal and provincial tax info. Why can't TurboTax have the ability to import such information from another return within the same copy of TurboTax

Really Reliable Product
I am a 76 year old senior and still file our taxes personally. I attribute still being able to do this to the ease of use and dependability of the turbotax product. turbotax makes this nasty annual job easy. As for dependability, I have used turbotax since 2008 and have never received a notice from CRA of any problems on our returns.
