Issues starting to crop up
Old issue , at the exact end of filing after getting back completion code from CRA, gives option to print, when you click print program crashes leaving you wondering if return was submitted ok to CRA, had same issue last year, no fix.
New issue, if you split T3 capital gains etc. between you and your spouse get error 95365 from CRA and cannot file returns, still waiting for resolution from CRA and Turbo tax first time I can't file due to fatal error like this, not good. Probably because of stupid on again off again capital gains treatment changing on June 24,2024 causing a real CFK within CRA, so dumb and un-necessary.

Sale of Principal Residence
Somewhere in Turbo Tax I showed that I'd sold my principal residence but, on review, couldn't find where I'd made the entry. In one of the "Warnings", it showed that the error was on Schedule 3. I searched for but could not find any reference to Schedule 3, so I've no idea where I'd given the indication that I'd sold my principal residence. I submitted my Return to CRA and await their response.......

Making your tax filing easy
I've been using this software since 2010. It's a trustworthy tool to file your Federal and provincial tax. A tool definitely you need to make your tax filing easy, though not super easy.

Capital Gains
Recording capital gains or losses on this software is still confusing (I have complained about this in other years). The information provided in the software is not clear enough to prevent the information from being entered twice. I am sure I did not enter it twice but it appeared twice on the return and I had a terrible time trying to delete the second entry. Surely the software could be improved to prevent this.

Some changes
There were sections that were much easier this year. I had an error with one return that Inuit could not fix. Some info seemed to become corrupted in the database for that one return. The price of purchasing additional returns was raised to $40 per return after you have used the ones that come with the desktop application.

Room for improvement
I was disappointed to find CD's were discontinued but bought the downloadable one for lack of choice. Found that stuff came up that didn't apply to me and was very confusing. Did my taxes 3 times from scratch, different amounts of refund all 3 times. Why? Frustrating too because if you click a box or such, incorrectly, upon going back a page, it doesnt change the amount of the refund or owing back to the pre-error number, prompting a need to restart from scratch.

Poor Phone supporrt
Have used Turbo Tax for years and have say was very happy withthere product. However this year had to contact there customer support for assistance and was not happy at all. Hard to understand which made communication almost impossible. my opinion good product as long as you do not require support.

User friendly
This product is user friendly, especially if one is comfortable using the "forms" method. Good review process and tips. However, the price of the software is exorbitant for one who only has senior's OAS and CPP.

when it came to printing our returns, the software would not let me print my return( Ray). Tried 3 times but would not leave wife's return, had to save my return on PDF file and print it from there.

This software cannot be used on an iMac. This is a great disappointment to me. I am using it on an old Windows machine that I have not yet junked. I do 3 or 4 returns each year and wish to do them in this format. I do not want to pay to do them all separately online. They are all charity except for mine.

Made me feel like I was gambling.
At the end of the process and the software wanted to go back over certain details. It said do this and you could get a extra 500. added to your refund or you could be deducted 500. Well my refund was lowered. I am not Happy. I don't understand.

I started off with the easy program and halfway through I was advised to change to the Standard. (I thought that was the one I Purchase) In any event, I purchased the standard and completed my return. I saved it to review again and when I came back, I could not netfile. I downloaded new updates and after that I was able to netfile and conclude my taxes for 2024! Just a small glitch but never the less, it adds to the stress of doing taxes.

quite good, resolution issues
somehow when using 2 monitors, I couldn't scroll to some commands on one that amy have had a resolution ... until I disconnected the second monitor.
And make it easy to get back to the main review page with all the numbers or income or deductions

The maximizing of pension splitting as well as Health Care are confusing. I never know if I have enter my information correctly and at the end the review steps, say I may need to make corrections but takes me back to the very spot where I originally entered it according to the info provided by TurboTax.

Software has a few bugs
User interface needs to focus more on how customers will react/interact with software. There are a couple of bugs that I ran across with capital gains/T5 form and with how some of the wording was when finally submitting my taxes to the CRA. I'm guessing the developers are based in the US and not as fluent on the Canadian experience.

online VS PC usage
Last year I used (inadvertently) the on-line version (2023 filing) and when I purchased the 2024 file for PC download I discovered that I could not find my 2023 data nor transfer information over to the new filing. Thus had to di all entries manually. I have used Turbotax consistently since at least 2013 and have all the file (but 2023 is an empty slot). Other than this little glitch no issues. I tried the helpdesk but they were not able to help either case# 1545229316, but assistant very friendly and understanding, but was puzzled as well, even contacting a supervisor, but to no avail.

Easy to use
I like that I can switch back and forth between the Easy mode and the actual return and the worksheets. I have been using this for over 12 years with no issues other than there is no version for Mac users. For this reason it doesn't get 5 starts after all this time of waiting, which means I had to purchase a non Mac computer just for this annual chore. I do like that the standard version allows me do to simple small business returns.

TurboTax is there to help you
In 1990 I began using a professional type of Tax Software called, "Cantax." Cantax worked very well for myself, my family & my business. But for some reason Cantax ceased to exist, I needed to find something to replace it. I began looking at what was available in the market and even tried a few different software companies. I finally settled with TurboTax. TurboTax allows the tax preparer to complete the Tax Year with either the simple "Answer the Questions." to completing tax forms by entering in your information by hand, which was my favorite way. But what really makes me a loyal user of TurboTax is how the software is very reasonably priced. If your late in filing your taxes, like I was for 7 plus years. I discovered that TurboTax supplied the software for previous tax years at no cost. Not many companies out there these days will do that.

Tired Tax Man
Great product simplifies the tax filing process.
It would help if older versions of trubotax were on file, perhaps with a disclaimer, same as CRA website.
Things happen, and sometimes you get behind, it would be great to be able to go back the full ten years.
