optimizer not user friendly
as the title implied. the slide rule is not user friendly and I end up optimizing manually. It's a waste of effort and time plus frustrations. Much stress over this tool.

Auto Save
Not sure if auto save works because I had to start over after closing turbotax (my taxes took a few days) on the first day AND after going to File---Save. Came back the next day and all the input from the previous day was gone (no, I didn't start a new file-I continued with the one started) so I had to do it all over again. (decided to just keep it open and minimized on my laptop rather than close the program)

override negates e-file problem
I find it very annoying that if one has to override any numbers that we are then forced to print, mail and file that way.
In my case, I had the correct numbers for CNIL and RSP contribution limits and carry forward but because I changed computers to make Windows 11 available, that I couldn't import the previous filings which caused me to do overrides. Surely, if we are using CRA numbers, there would be a way to e-file

One change was problematic
Have been buying this product for several years.
While interview process is pretty straight forward, if any uncertainty could usually figure things out.
Change this year surrounding gas tax and residency in Ontario is hard to rationalize why someone would make such a change. In past years, while having to read the question a couple of times for clarity, the answer was a choice between Yes or No! This year there was only a box to tick- maybe?
When I was confident to proceed without ticking the box, then the Review claimed I was not inputting where I lived! Ticking the box led to a Small Town credit which was not what I wanted. Why would the simple Yes or No answer from previous programs not have been left intact..
This was my only issue, but makes no sense why such a change was made to complicate things!

Cannot override CCA and netfile
Why can't I netfile if I override my capital cost allowance? This is a flaw. Now I have to lose CCA carryovers if I netfile for a fast return or save my CCA carryovers, mail in my taxes and wait for weeks for my return. Not very convenient.

Confusing
It is confusing that emails come and the sale was for the software that was NOT online.

Simplifies filing
As I get older, the tax filing seems to get more and more complicated. With the software, I can try out different options for claiming deductions etc and see the net result in the refund. I also like the pension splitting optimizer. I can't imagine doing this by hand. Overall, fairly easy to use.

Overall a very good product. Last year too me 1/2 hour to get software started on the Website page. This year, is was much faster opening up the software to get started. But that initial launch would be my only complaint. Other than that, it does a very good job. Thank you

Extremely Helpful
Everything went smoothly while using Turbo Tax, except for the Staycation form. Every time I tried to enter the GST/HST number I received a message stating to round off the number to the next whole number. Not sure what that was about, but the only way I was able to move forward in the process was to delete all of the GST/HST numbers and leave it blank. Unsure if this was a program glitch or, most likely, a government glitch.
I recommend using this program. The optimizers alone makes it worth it.

NO MORE TAXES
Since I left this Earth at the speed of thought on June 22, 2022, I wish to inform you that I will longer be needing any outside means to compile a TAX RETURN. This is because the place in which I now reside does not collect any taxes, however, I will be returning back to Earth with a whole bunch of people in the not too distant future and the possibility of still doing one's taxes at that time may still exist. The good news is that the coming new régime will definitely replace it with a more equitable system. Simply put it will not require any outside software. In the meantime I think it would be very prudent for current taxpayers to start laying up some heavenly treasure where moth, rust and TAXES can't destroy it. Enhancing one's life on this planet is ok, but because it is rapidly disintegrating it's not the best advice. A new Sheriff is coming to town and there will be changes.

Turbotax 2022
I used TT 2022 x 2 this year as had one to do for another person. First one went smooth. Second one not as much as a bit more complicated. Some confusion noted surrounding the investment income and pension income questions in the software. Didn't find this as clear as it could be.
Also would like to be able to save and print the detailed summary page but had to take 3 snippits of same (cut and paste). Other than that, easy to use. Been using this for several years now. Thank you.

Needs to be adapted for deceased person
Although you probably don't get many returns prepared for a deceased person, it would be helpful if the program was adapted. Once the box is completed for the date of death, some of the questions should be altered for no longer living.

You need to add a box on the Summary panel under Refund/Balance that shows the sum of the two columns. That way you could see if any change is an advantage or not by seeing if the value went up or down (without using a calculator to add the two numbers). This is the third year I have suggested this. Please let me know why this is a bad idea.

Two things! #1. I was unable to go to the "forms" in the on line version hence I baled and got the more familiar CD version.
#2 Very disappointed as TurboTax provided a financial benefit to late purchasers and ignored their loyal customers of over 15 years of use. Incentives your earlier purchasers instead and reward loyalty.

All good except for T1135
Been using Turbotax for over 20 years. Very easy to use. Overall, very good. Only one complaint - T1135 only provide for limited (3) entries. This has been a complaint for years. Surely they can provide flexibility to enter more lines.

2022 IT Frustrated
I have used TurboTax for 10 years of more and have never had the problems I had this year. I'm not sure if there was something wrong with the CD as installation was a nightmare. It usually took 5-10 minutes to install but this year it was 4+ hours. Also, I had to sign in as an administrator every time as it said the install hadn't worked properly.

T5008 difficult to reconcile to slips
I asked TurboTax to auto-fill my info from CRA. The T5008 info came in as 98 separate amounts. When I added up all the amounts showing on Turbotax the total did not agree with the total displayed on the screen.

Helpful, if cumbersome
Been using this for almost a decade. Gets better slowly. Still doesn't fathom that I ALREADY have a CRA MyAccount, so asks during Netfile if I want to go paperless or not - with no option"BUT I ALREADY AM". Dumb.

quite good- some glitches
I've used this in previous years with no problems but I had some this year. The main stumbling block was for the Ontario Staycation credit where the HST number for any accommodation is requested. Every receipt has a 15 character HST # that ends in RT0001. These entries were flagged/not accepted and the error message said to "enter a whole number". Turns out the RT0001 had to be omitted. No online or phone help robot could answer my question which was quite frustrating but I did figure it out eventually. I suppose the Staycation credit won't be seen again (unless there's another pandemic) but the difficulty in getting any answer was annoying - and perhaps an HST # will be required somewhere else. A second stumbling block was the Netfile Access Code. I used one from 2 years ago not realizing that it changed every year so that held things up. I don't recall that the instructions said to use "the previous year's code" but I may be wrong. Finally, the software did not optimize pension splitting - I had to do it by trial and error which wasn't a big deal. All in all it worked out and was much cheaper than having a tax preparer firm do it.
