Better way of verifying return
Turbotax Standard is 90% accurate. Still it misses basic entries, that are mostly imported from CRA site, like the mandatory Home Buyer Plan (HBP) entry, that should be added to total income (in lieu of re-payment). It also still does not import information from previous year turbotax returns.
I also suggest that the software should offer an additional optional approach to verifying the overall return by having side-by-side comparison between this year and previous year summaries of returns (when turbotax is used for the two successive years). It also encourges loyalty to the software

Not as user friendly as previous years
When I went to set up the account - the previous years information was not visible - was disappointed, but filled the forms. The reason it was not visible is that it was too low on the page, which I saw later.

Not as User Friendly this year
Found a few instances where information needed was not clearly stated or clear indication was not given as to where to enter the information, i.e. tuition and disability windows. Otherwise a very useful program.

Could be better
I some case you can't enter a number in a box because the default font is too small Box 47600 for example.
The help function didn't help. Had to go to social media.

Useful tool
Turbo Tax is a useful tool, but you must still understand basic tax principles and limitations. Sometimes the software indicate some deduction are allowable, but it might not be in fact. ex; care giver and disability amount.

Renewal
Every year Turbo tax sends me a reminder to download the program. Every year I try to down load it and it says it cannot find my info. I have used it for about ten years.

several years a user
turbotax 2022 quit working after submitting 2 tax forms. after talking to support on 2 different occasions getting nowhere they suggested i contact microsoft. i spent more time trying to fix it myself as i didn"t think it was a computer glitch. found it... i had not registered the program and it didn't let me in to any year from 2017 to 2022. i could only go so far as the update program box and error code tt808 appeared. so registering the program seems to be fairly important.

Automatic Calculations
During the review, I was asked to justify an amount (QC line 117) I did not enter into my QC tax return and could not find anywhere in any of my tax statements (Ts and Relevé). It took me a while to figure out where the amount came from. However, I was unable to figure out the exact source as asked in the FIX part of the review. I was very frustrated to say the least.

filing
I was a little unsure about having my tax sent to the CRA. Maybe I missed the confirmation doing turbo tax. Had some doubts but changed when my return was deposited in my bank account . Please make this confirmation bolder to help ease some doubt

Improving year by year
When adding T 5008 share quantities, only two places after the decimal point are accepted, when they are quoted in up to three places.
Method of entering T5008 data is awkward
requiring each line item to be a new entry, which requires repetitive security identification when more than one date is involved. The CRA form T 5008 is almost indecipherable!

Difficult even when using it for years
Each year I seem to have great difficulty activating my newly purchased Turbo Tax program & have ended up calling for help many years. One year it was because I switched to online. This year I just could not find how to activate my online version. Everywhere it seemed it was trying to help me find the correct version for me to buy when all I wanted was to find how to activate what I had purchased & became so frustrated. It turned out it had to be downloaded first. I could not find clear instructions not able to understand them easily. I was unable to find a phone number to call but found it in my other year's files. Then had a automated 'answer' that could not understand my question nor my name. When it was repeated to me many times it was a series of letters & ?? that never even resembled my name & just kept asking me to repeat it until finally I was connected with a live person who was helpful, thank goodness. Before I had the solution sent to me there was a survey waiting to say how happy I was with the service???

Ok, with Glitches
I tried to use the online version, as I have done for the last 6 years. Website got stuck in a information request loop. So paid for and downloaded desktop version. It froze multiple times trying to get info from CRA. I entered it all manually.

Only Question
I didn't get any confirmation that my Income taxes were actually sent to the Canada Revenue Agency as previous years of Turbo Tax has done prior. I followed all steps to complete my tax return but I didn't see any confirmation that they were eFiled.

My only issue was creb repayment
The program works very well my only issue was trying to find box 23210 for the cerb repayment. It would have been very helpful if you could use the search function in the help menu to locate specific box numbers to manually fill in the needed numbers.

Problems
Liked the program but I think it would be easier to sum up all our medical costs and be able to add it all in one place. Also had troubles with the program accepting the license code and had to do my return all over again after speaking with an assistant on line.

Basic features, lack some easy of use functions
Basic product features, save some time with manual filing and good for online tax filing.
However, BEWARE that any Turbotax CRA downloaded T5008 slips that are in USD currency will be incorrectly reported/filed by TurboTax unless you manually correct them.
The product needs improvements to make it easy for a user to do their tax filing without getting into trouble and to save time and effort.
This includes:
1. Capability for user to individually select which CRA downloaded slips to import and update and not erase all previously loaded or entered slips.
2. Capability to identify Bank of Canada exchange rate(s), to identify the foreign currency of an entered or CRA downloaded T5008 slip and automatically convert the amounts to Canadian. CRA downloaded T5008 may be in a foreign currency e.g. USD.
3. Identify each of the previous years capital gains amounts for which capital loss can be carried back to.

Mostly Good
A few areas could be improved. Some questions don't allow a proper response, i.e., when Net Filing you are asked if you want to set up an email to receive messages from the CRA electronically. The other option is "I'm not ready to go paperless". No option for "I've already set this up"? The help files are also not that useful unless your situation is very straightforward. I usually start with the Easy Step method but inevitably switch to the Forms method to confirm where all my data is being sent. The pension splitting optimizer is also an area where a problem can occur if, when optimized, one spouse ends up owing money but the overall refund in the coupled return is insignificant by choosing an alternate amount where neither spouse pays. I have used TurboTax for many years and I'm familiar with it's shortcomings... I'm not so sure how I would feel if it was my first time. In spite of these issues I think TurboTax does do a good job of catching mistakes and it tries to explain the increasingly complex tax rules as clearly as possible. I will use it again next year.

ONCE MORE
When you use a many page tax program for 2 people over the span of a few days you don't have time or think about the glitches as you go along so I don't recall all the obvious irritants. One is the automatic downloading of Federal T-slips. Ha, the Government makes you go through so many hoops that it takes ages. Then like last year or the year before it STILL didn't work. I entered my spouse's info manually and saved 5-10 minutes. Why not pay some people a small fee to record all the glitches as they go through their return? Your techs are so familiar with the program that they don't see the various snags.
All said I have used it for years and I will carry on.

Happy with TurboTax
I have used TurboTax for years therefore I'm comfortable with the software and trust that it works. Doing two returns at the same time, I'm sometimes confused as to which return I'm working on. Would like to see names at the top of every screen. That would be helpful.
