Never sure.
I always wonder if when I choose the optimize suggestion, does it change things. I want to get the split donations down to the best for us as one is paying and the other getting a refund. I don't know how to know how to do that.

Still Missing Somethings
It would be helpful if there was more explanation available for things like provincial items such as municipal tax credit ie do you qualify. I get things back during the year saying I don't qualify based on my earnings, seeing as the program has all that info can't it just tell me that and skip it ?

Almost perfect
CRA makes it difficult to log in if you use different IDs in a short time frame - perhaps a cookie makes CRA think a hack is happening. This results in some failed links to the CRA website from within TurboTax, at which point TurboTax freezes up.

Easy and Simple
I did this review before the filling step "final step".
The app is very easy to use, it guides you through all the steps - even though it my first time to file taxes by myself - but I found it super easy through tax turbo.

some holes
I realise that forms are filled out automatically..but some holes in the CCA for equipment and Tuition (other types of tuition, yet keeps on clicking off that i have a slip, which is not case with RECO, real estate tuition for 2019).
I would appreciate some follow up as i might have to deal with these things again and certainly CCA for next year. TY

NetFile or Print
Concerned when I reached NetFile or Print there might not be another option to print farther along, I choose Print. Wrong! Choose NetFile if you are filing online. This should be clarified. When I printed the document it came out stamped Do Not Mail. So I didn't. Big Oops! Turns out if you choose NetFile there is an option at the end to print. Had I known that, I would have continued. Perhaps that's mentioned elsewhere on the software but I feel there should be a notation at that point to avoid confusion. Other than that, the software was straightforward and user-friendly.

Work from home expenses T777S
On the 'minus' side, even though I had indicated earlier that I'd use flat-rate method for Employment expenses (work from home expenses), the software did not take me to complete inputs (e.g. number of days worked from home) for those expenses. So already at the SUM UP section of the process, I had to go find T777S form to input the number of days worked from home. Thank you!

Easy to use!
For the most part I love Turbo Tax. Even using Standard version I can enter my T slips and capital gains and dividend interest etc. with ease. I also can use Forms for doing things that are a trifle complicated, such as gifting shares to charities.
One suggestion for TT is to PLEASE remind the user to convert US$ amounts to C$ when entering T slips! Just a quickie reminder would save so much grief. Or ask if there is a foreign currency in Box 27. ANYTHING would help remind the taxpayer to check first.

Easy and Intuitive
I have been using TurboTax for years to do taxes for my family and parents. The ability every year to created new return from prior year is great.
Two areas that can be improved is in the hyperlinks provided that don't always take you to what you selected (e.g. selecting Ontario's Senior Home Safety Tax Credit takes you to search rather than outlining) and the import feature for tax information when Representing a Client doesn't work well resulting in having to hard close your file (make sure you save before)

Longtime user
I can usually figure out how to use it without to much difficulty seeing as one uses this software only once per year. I find reviewing the previous' year's return a good refresher. As an option, I would to be able to use the autofill option for comparison purposes only. By that, I mean it would not integrate the autofill info into the actual return but would allow one to compare the info derived from the paper slips (T4, T5, etc) with what autofill has found to check for discrepancies.

Thank Goodness for TurboTax
We have used TurboTax since its beginning when it was call HomeTax. We are always amazed at all the details in the program that address so many different tax return situations. It is much easier using TurboTax with Netfiling than doing a manual return & postal mailing! All the tutoring and guidance provided by TurboTax helps to insure accuracy overall and completeness of all possible tax breaks. We experienced some minor issues but the live help was very satisfactory. Very close to the 100% customer satisfaction that the TurboTax folks work toward achieving!

Downloaded T5008's direct from CRA My Account numerous, all exact same amount & did not include whether investment or capital gains so had to edit each one. Took a very long time as had to scroll down the list & pick one at a time, then click done to get back to the list for the next one & impossible to tell which was next. Missed several & hard to find which ones.

Not Completely Satisfied
I was unable to Net-file it to CRA. At first I made a mistake and input the wrong code, I realized and corrected it even after I mailed. Double checked with C.R.A yet, system showing as locked out. Is this a soft ware problem? if a mistake was made and corrected shouldn't the system accepted it after being corrected..

It Works. I am old school so I spend too much time double checking with the forms, whichis not necessary....Turbo tax does what it is supposed to do. If you put the numbers in correctly and enter all the information....It works perfect. Errors are on the end of the user....certainly in my case. I will continue to use this program for my Taxes.

Need a program for a single return

issue with importing data from CRA
Hiccups in accessing the CRA website (timeout, password issue) cause TurboTax to hang. Had to terminate the app.
Otherwise, it worked as usual. The automatic spousal transfers particularly add value.

An error I encountered
I have used Turbo Tax for years and always had an excellent service from it. This year I ran into a glitch, I guess you could call it. When trying to print off the returns for our copies, it kept printing off one return even though the other was clicked to print. I found it frustrating as I had to close the entire program, reopen and then click the partners return to try and print. A waste of a lot of paper until I was able to get correct one printed.
