Unlocking 50% LIRA
There were no topics included about how to report a 50% unlocking a LIRA and what forms are used and how to report when moving directly to an RRSP...on the tax forms. I found this very confusing.

Good Tax Program
The tax program itself is easy to work with, lots of help if needed. The one problem I had this year was the registration of the program. It kept asking for the serial number and when I entered it, would say wrong serial number for this product. Should fix it for next year.

I had 2 problems this year that have never occurred before. 1: Some, not all, of the forms that I tried to print came up blank. 2: I tried 3 times to print MY federal return and regardless of the name I chose, only my wife's return would print. That's why I had to try to print the forms themselves as an alternative.

Always a great tool

Smooth Going!
I have used Turbo Tax for over 5 years and have never has any issues whatsoever with calculations etc. The tips along the way (Optimizing) have really helped maximiz refunds!

Great for personal tax use
I have only used this for personal tax usage, but it has done its job extremely well. Simple, explains certain concepts well, as needed. Cheap to purchase but lots of value. I have used a tax preparation company in the past, and while that was easy too, this both saved me money and a drive.

Redundant screens
Good package, easy to use. However, there are redundant screens. When you answer "no" to a question in the profile, the screen for that should not come up. The issue was the same last year and I commented on it. Also, it takes quite a bit of time to load in the beginning when you are starting a new return. The actual speed during the entry of data is then ok.

Quirky but worthwhile.
The Manitoba tax credit, the property tax / education tax credit was ambiguous.
The warning about climate credit was weird - "did you check this box"?
All in all, beats paper.

BEEN USING TURBOTAX FOR YEARS
EASY STEP gets me through the income tax season every year. It is easy to use and economical as you can do many returns on the STANDARD package. (Up to 8 people who earn over $25,000.) The number of files you can do is unlimited for those who earn under $25,000. The only DOWN SIDE to this program is that we used to be able to call online or chat when we needed help.
Now we have to pay for this service from TURBOTAX.

Simplify CRA
In England I was told all income taxes are deducted at source, eliminating year end hassel . Much simpler , ?? (At 951/2 yrs. next Life Change will be death and more taxes, but then at last none)

Not as good as previous years
I do two returns, in the past years it has been fairly straightforward. This year it was not so smooth. It kept jumping back to repeat entries and even got the filenames swapped overwriting my first return!

Taxes Made Easy
Very usable and clear instructions but really not fully used in my case. Only use Standard due to Life Insurance Investment Income which is very limited. Would like to be able to use Basic for all my filing.

Good but still frustrating
I always have a tough time doing income tax even though mine is the simplest one of all. It takes about 15 or more hours to find all the boxes and items on the form. I have no extra items for tax purposes. SIMPLE It took me three to four hours to find "fist time submitting to CRA" It is not in any "find" system. I went back to the start and went through every page about 10 or more times.
Very frustrating. Two years now and try to download from the CRA even though I am signed in. Waste of time again. But I must say the program is very easy to use.

After finding the download it was good.
I bought Turbo tax disc (Standard) knowing that it provides an access licence code that can be entered after going to turbotax.ca/download... Sounded simple but was extremely difficult to find the download page, it always steered me to the download page that required the purchase of the product (which I had already done!) It was very frustrating and time consuming. Finally found it through repeated trial and error. Once that was achieved it turns-out the download will not work on an Acer Chromebook.... Had to start the process over again with a different computer.. One that was all figured-out, the actual turbo Tax program seemed good.

Works well
I find Turbo Tax easy to use and navigate. My only complaint is I would have liked the software to create a federal worksheet for Line 12100 Interest and other investment income to allow the user to clearly see that all the entries are correct and the how the total was arrived at.

Best purchase ever
Very easy to use, and very well written. However, I would like to see way less pages printed. Scedules can be summarized to include only the lines with actual entries. The printed cvopy is for my record and I don't care for useless pages wasting my paper.

Had problems this year
when entering info I had to stop and go back to enter my wife's T4's as it didn't automatically go to her. When I got to review I found out that none of her T4's had been entered and I had to figure out to go back to do this. This is the first time I have ever had a problem with Turbo and I have been using it for over 25 years back when it was Quick tax. Also when I asked it to print my copy for my records it printed my wife's and I had to ask it to print hers and then it printed mine. This needs to be checked.

Very good but ....
The only drawback I had with this year's return was switching between last year's online submission and this year's PC based process. I wasn't able to transfer pretty standard information between the two versions. This should be addressed for next year.

Small flaw
I've been using Turbotax for many years and this is the first time that I cannot give it an overall rating of 5 stars. When I printed joint tax returns (husband & wife), the wife's return printed when I asked for the husband's return. This happened each time for 3 different joint returns. There is a flaw in the software.
