Makes taxes easy
I have used Turbo Tax for many years. It remembers info from previous years. Usually the instructions make it quite clear what to do. This year I encountered an issue which Turbo Tax and its telephone expert could not resolve .but it was the first time ever.

Expand Standard version
Your product is a good one, but you should expand the Standard version to be more helpful and include Investment, Capital Gains/Loss Optimizers. Don't force us to buy the Premium version. Be more inclusive in the Standard Version.

Don't need more expensive version
I love the easy file features that walk you through the forms - and to fill in the blanks. My data comes mostly on T slips, so straight forward to pull in from CRA, and therefore do not need a more expensive version for investments (that are on T slips).

OAS
your software suggested an error because I was over the "normal" max OAS benefit per year. That concerned me until I figured out that my OAS should be higher because I delayed collecting it. That comment should be added so that people don't freak out, and know why theirs might be over.. and that it's not an error.

Improve personalization

Could Tweak a Little
I have filed taxes for just over 40 years in fact.
Beyond the first few years I did all myself on paper like everyone else! Overall TurboTax 2020 is the best-to-date. However, still needs a little tweaking to take you exactly to the spot when you make an error. (Linking needs to be updated and tweaked). I would appreciate more attention to allowing us to work through seamlessly rather than 'advertising' to us. I feel we pay enough for the package (Costco) and only use two of the available filings included for the price (as many would say the same).

Transferring Previous Year Data
I could have used a few more tips on why this did not work in the case of my spouse. (Possibly the CRA My Account issue that I discovered upon Net Filing). Perhaps I could have addressed the issue(s) more quickly than re-entering all her data.

Found more difficult this year
Harder to find information especially on not paying CPP on self-employed income. Some things kept looping in EasyStep so used forms instead. Still not sure CPP won't be taken from my refund and will have to reclaim again.

Online everything not for everybody
it appears to me that turbotax sw is being designed to discourage people from printing and mailing their returns. to use the online version you need an online account with the CRA ... and guess what, they get hacked!

good product
I have been using Turbotax for a few years. Overall it is a good product.
My only issue with it is that (1) It is not obvious how to import previous year's tax information, (2) also it ask many inputs before donwloading data from CRA website. These aspects could be improved.

The section on credits for financial support of a disabled adult child is confusing and instead of allowing entry of the amount of support Turbotax enters an amount without reference base, then that amount - whether in or not - has no effect on tax refund or balance owing

The quickest and easiest way to file your taxes
TurboTAX is a great way to file relatively simple style tax details. You can also do more complex tax details BUT for those situations those details are entered by YOU and therefore subject to potential human error but still easier than manually filing your return the OLD PAPER WAY! If your situation is the typical employee type situation and you do not have any unusual income or deductions such as self employment and irregular investments then you can just log into your MY ACCOUNT and ALL filed paperwork from your employer, government registered investments, pretty much anything that you receive paperwork for (ie T4 T4A OAS Pension RRSP etc...) will download into TurboTAX quick and easy. Then all you do is review and verify the details and then hit netfile and ALL DONE!!! Thanks TurboTAX for making TAXES much easier to complete and also take advantage of known eligible deductions and credits.

Reliable & Easy to Use
There is no need to sort tax documents or manually calculate any numbers. Just enter one document at a time in any order as they have been thrown into the file and when they are all entered the return is complete.

Good for simple returns
Very helpful if it's your first time doing taxes. Easy to input all the info from tuition, charitable donations, etc. You can't transfer your T4 info from the CRA if you haven't requested a security code, so I would recommend doing that far in advance. If you're self-employed I would recommend getting someone to help you out in person rather than doing it through this.

Produst Updates
Liked functionality and ease of TT. However, the update process this year left much to be desired. Almost every update required re-activation of the product. On three occasions, the updated product would not start without re-booting the computer. This is a simple application program. (I did call tech support and they told me that I needed to re-boot.)
