not easy for family with student
Got half way through the return for husband and I and needed the info from our child's return. Turbo Tax won't let me save our return while it's still in the profile stage. Need that capability or I'm having too close and redo it all.

Great for doing Taxes
I have being using Turbo Tax since 2007 and will continue to use it in the future. It's a great tool for doing your own taxes and WAY cheaper than using H&R Block as I had done in the past years.! $$$ savings!

Taxes Done Easily
I have used Turbo Tax for several years to do my families taxes. Our taxes are pretty straightforward and very easy to do with Turbo Tax. As long as you have all the forms and receipts, very simple to complete via Turbo Tax.

I have used this program since it was WinTax in the 1990s. I absolutely like almost everything about it. However, I never use the print for personal records option at the end of the review. It overprints a " Duplicate do not send by mail " message on every page on every form. I find this very annoying. I print individual forms, 2 copies each, but form T657 will often not print this way.

Easy to Use

Medical Expense Worksheet
Fro Seniors with several repeating prescriptions for both partners, there should be a "copy & paste" option for the Patient and the issuing Drug Store, as well as repeating Dentist name.

About the same as prior years
The question process tries real hard to make the tax process easier... at the end though, just open the forms and enter the information it is faster. My suggestions: an interface to import the forms and thus the data entry as well as a check with CRA that the amounts are the same as what they have. In addition, put a big button on the front which asks: 'Do you want to us to constantly ask you questions to support add-on sales by nickel and diming you to death?'. By selecting no, you would not be faced with a barrage of screens by which Turbo tax tries to increase their revenue streams. Overall a good product.

Geezer thoughts
OK to use if you already have a good idea how to fill out the paper forms and understand
a fairly basic tax return. It is easy than flipping from CRA form to form and back over and over again.

Fairly good overall but the T1135 should be made better by either allowing more lines for section 7 to be added dynamically or just by adding more statically. Also more help with the T5008 form - specifically with respect to the need to ensure the Type of Income box is filled.

Good value
The whole program is great, they should however make it easier to flip back and foreworth between sheet and easy step with easystep one has to go back too far sometimes to get where you want to be.
We have 2 married kids so there are 6 returns done on this copy.

Starting to see too many Sales Pitches
Been using TT for over 10 years. Generally a good product but Intuit is creeping in more and more "Ads" to buy their other services. Even scare tactics like audit defense, etc. I love that it automatically downloads your government T-slips - a great timesaver! Will keep buying as completing annual tax returns keep getting more complicated year after year.

Great Tool!
I still remember the time when I insisted in doing my taxes manually on paper... Turbo Tax made my transition to digital taxes a good and valuable learning experience. The tools is easy to follow, has a friendly interface and provides support through multiple channels if you ever get stuck.

Better in past years
This year they eliminated the automatic option to bring forward previous tax return information. It is now a manual command found as a subheading under the file command rather than a pop up option when starting. There is also no warning when only one return for a couple is checked for a specific T slip that there will be no option to add the spousal T slip later. You need to go back to the check box screen and add the spousal t slip in order to enter a spousal slip. There is no "set printer" pop up option before printing final return. I neglected to check and found after the first printing that I still had Landscape instead of portrait selected as the printer option. Previous editions did more "hand holding" which was very convenient in using a software that one only uses on an annual basis. The capabilities are still available, just not found as easily this year.

Turbo Tax 2020 -- and done!
Only issue was with splitting donations between my spouse and I. Had to work around the override otherwise it wont allow you to Netfile.
Otherwise all about the same as every year.

PROBLEM WITH EFILE
Program required an answer about if entitled to Exemption under Indian Act. Was not. Program said it was an error to be fixed. Did Ignore Error. Would not efile as a result.

Decent
Overall it is comprehensive but some of the specialized forms were to difficult to scroll through properly. The text was far too large for the box and required scrolling up and down as well as side to side. This caused a lot of issued with doing the Covid rebates.

Good Product
Turbo Tax is a great product for doing your personal taxes. I especially like the option to flip between the "Forms" and the "Easystep" modules so I can be sure I'm getting what I think I'm getting. On the downside, they seem to want to promote the more expensive feature-full version even though the Standard version worked fine for me.
