Turbo
I find this an easy and inexpensive way to complete my and my husband's taxes. I like the way the program catches errors that I may have made and makes suggestions to maximize savings.

Great and easy to use
Good software and user friendly, the only issues is I purchase the standard edition because I have T4's etc, which can do 8 returns, I only do 2, can you make a standard with 2 returns?

Overall good but there was a bug
Overall good product. I have been using Turbo Tax for many year. But for the first time encountered a bug which I overcame by manual over ride.
Although I selected that I have T2202 it never prompted me to enter the numbers. At the end it came up with no tuition fees. I had to go back and enter numbers in T2202.
Another bug: It keep telling me that I have claimed worker benefit which I haven't. Again I have to go back and un-check it manually.

Long time user
OOPS! this year the software crashed on me during the netfile process! CRA shows the return received, but the TurboTax still is showing the start button to get me to Netfile again. Hope you get that fixed for next year!

Hard to load
i had problems loading this year's version. i had to call the help line and found out in needed to turn off all security to be able to load and eventually use the program

The only reason I gave a 4 is that every time I had to open Turbo Tax I had to re-install the License Code, which is very annoying. This is the first year this has happened and I would want it to be the last. If this occurs next year, the rating will be lower and with it any recommendation to friends.

Helpful Time Saver
The truth is that I find the import of the tax forms from CRA a real game changer in terms of convenience and ease of use. In this day of electronics you don't always get some tax receipts from institutions either via email or letter. However, they are always available from the CRA download and the information is automatically captured and stored.
The layout this year is much easier to use than previous years and I was able to go back quickly and make changes.

Comfortable
Internet download did not work, had to try a couple times then used disc. When I started tax input, none of previous year's info was available. When I exited from one filing, and started second, things seemed to go back to normal; last years info transfer etc. Disappointed but used hard copy from last year to verify data correctness.

Worked well....but
The program itself worked well as usual...but the decision to not automatically email me the latest version and bill me almost caused me to look elsewhere. You had a great thing going and almost lost me. Maybe you lost others. This was a bad idea IMHO.

Had trouble
Had trouble with auto connect to CRA MyAccount AND submitting to Netfile. The "new" Access code defaulted wrong, so first attempt to file - Failed. Next found stored Access Code came back with my wife - not me. (fixed that). Tried to set up connection to MyAccount in CRA BUT since I had not set for Email with CRA - this would not work but return to TurboTax resulted in locked screen. Could not find a way to "save" my work, so don't know my status with TurboTax. (I have printed copy of CRA NetFile confirmation #) Signed on again and ran Restore but screen froze - except for this request for a review. I will be signing off and then on again to see what works!

I had issues with Turbotax. I called 800 support number and was placed in US. Platform. There is a difference between US and the Canadian version. Even though I identified myself as Canadian your experts did not realize there was a different which ended up costing me a lot of time and frustration. Need to identify Canadian number to call and US. Second issue with help in product. Parts of it were grossly out of date.

Actual refund off by several hundred dollars
It was accurate in past years but this year it was off by hundreds. The programme indicated I would be getting $700 in provincial tax credit, however Revenue Canada said it was disallowed it as I did not qualify.
Odd how the programme said I was qualified.

Excellent Value
The tax accountant I had been using retired and so I tried Turbotax. I found it easy to use and the price has come down over the last few years. It does everything that I need and I like how it is able to split my wife's and my income. It is good value and I feel it is accurate.

Investment tools
I like the product but for simple investments like GICs and stock purchase and sales, as a retiree, I don't think I should have to upgrade to be sure they are being handled properly by the product. If I ran a business then I would have no problem upgrading.

Good, but a Calculation Error
Good and fairly easy to use. However, rather than putting the amount in box 20 of my T4A(P) on line 11400 of my return Turbotax put the amount in box 14 of the T4A(P). So I owed a little more. All other calculations were correct.

Generally good
Have used Turbo Tax software for years without a problem. But this year found that when entering investment income all info gets entered by T5, then there is a separate page for entering investment income. By defination bank interest is investment income. But by following the directions one is directed to enter the income twice resulting in doubling the amount of interest income on the total income spreadsheet.
