Good easy to use software. However there is one minor aspect that needs to be improved. There is a series of questions worded in the negative which are meant to provide information about my dependent child. The questions are worded in such a way to be confusing. This should be cleaned up before releasing next year's version of Turbo tax (ie. remove the word NOT from all those questions).

For the Climate change refund it was not very clear on eligibility, and also not sure if I live in a rural area. Turbo tax should be able to look at my address and provide the answer

Be Patient when loading Turbo Tax disc
Be patient with TurboTax disc, especially when it first starts to load from the disc to your computer. It looks like its not doing anything, even though its loading. It just seems to sit there doing nothing for minutes at a time, making the user wonder if anything is actually happening. The only way you know something is happening is you hear the computer start to load the software. For a beginner, this is very disturbing. You keep thinking, "Is it working?" because there are no indicators like spinning wheels or lines on the screen that eventually turn green as an indicator of progress of the software loading. Nothing tells you its loading but the noise of the computer as it loads. So when the noise stops you can't tell and you aren't sure if it's doing anything or not. I wish the programmers would address this by adding some sort of visual indicator on the screen that the software is loading from the moment you load it on your computer, it's very disturbing for beginners.

I didn't keep my password & user ID for Turbo Tax, so ran into problems loading the 2020 tax program. It took a patient Turbo Tax helper 1 1/2 hr.to help me load the program. Be warned.

I found Turbo Tax Standard easy to use except when an error occurred. It stopped me from Netfile because of a T4 slip for $100.00 for a fee for service. It was placed in the business income section, which required further information which was irrelevant. I finally deleted it, but it took me a couple of hours to figure out how to do that. I have used Turbo Tax for several years, and have had little trouble. I have always used the method where I enter information by answering questions rather than filling in the forms. This works fine except when an error is made. It is especially difficult when the error is caused by the program. For this reason, I could not give it five stars.

I have used turbo tax for years.
This year I ran into a strange problem.
The program asked me to register several times after the initial registration on different days. One day I could not access my file and had to start with a new file name and when the request was made I hit later. I was able to complete the filing.

limbo
Went to cra to get my early notice of assessment and it wasn't ready to provide it and then went back to turbo tax and went into limbo. don't do this step.

A pretty good setup. Saves a lot of pencil by doing the old book method. When they autofill from your cra account, it's a lot less filling in the blanks.

Ok, with bugs
Has bugs when preparing my return and my spouse's together, would not indicate whose account you are logging into to get to the CRA website, and if you enter the wrong credentials the software crashes. by the way the 'Short' survey was 55 questions!!! Many of those questions had 20 sections of ratings. That is not what I would call short.

Ease of use
Easy to use but when entering the date using the easy steps you should modify the entry form to reflect T4 and Releve1 so we enter data as shown on the T4 Rel 1 so there is less back and forth thus preventing errors

I am not impressed that Intuit has canceled their online purchasing option of the physical program and that I now have to go to Staples to purchase the CD. I have been using this for as long as Intuit has been producing it. Why change something that works just fine.

windows & Mac Versions
I have moved to a MacBook. When my old Windows 10 laptop fails I will probably find another tax product or complete the taxes manually.
I feel there is a security problem when the Mac version requires to complete all the work while online. One should be able to complete the Mac version of TurboTax offline as one may do with the Windows version.

Troublesome
It took 3 hours to submit my return. I did not have that much trouble last year and the following are the reasons why. I would key something then unkey, but it still registered that I had selected it, several times this occurred. It showed pension income as $54,000. and that I owned $9.331 in taxes which is incorrect. I went back to the beginning a few times, until it updated the correct amounts. It seems sluggish and I have Windows 10. It is still better then paper filing for sure and it all worked out in the end.

Well Organized
Well structured with appropriate help notes for assistance. Optomizer tools are really helpful, though it's not clear what rules are being used for optomizing. The Medical one tries to use only part of the year's expenses but doesn't allow choice of maximizing tax refund, especially for a person plus their spouse

Best I've found
The more often I use TurboTax, the more I seem to discover oddities in the program. Such as telling me I claimed a sale of my principal residence when I didn't, and then attempting to refer me to the higher level program. Fortunately, it is easy to ignore the prompt.
