Form disappeared after taking money off
Canada Worker Benefit appeared, checked boxes, took off money then disappeared. Could not edit after. Otherwise great program, very user friendly.

Good product, but...
For the last 5years I used Turbotax Basic.
Very easy to use, good price and sufficient for my needs. It included RRSP and Income splitting optimizers. This year, Intuit has deleted these from TurboTax Basic and obliged me to upgrade to TurboTax Standard.
No explanations for this money grab.

Watch your RRSP!
Even though the program detected that I was not eligible for a RRSP deduction, it gave me one. Messed me up for my return. I found where it happened, but, really, should I need a fine tooth comb to verify that EVERYTHING presented by TurboTax is correct? I found an Intuit programming error in another area that luckily didn't affect me other than the Medical Year Expenses were wrongly shown. Shame twice on Intuist.

Helpful Helpers
I don't know if this is a new feature, but I started filling things in Easy Step. If I did not mark exact slips or other forms there, I could not enter directly into the T1 form as I always remember doing before. And double clicking on the box did not take me back to Easy Step. I had to phone a very helpful (and patient) person. Lesson is to carefully go through all of Easy Step and fill out the check boxes and values there .
In one of the fields where Easy Step expects a dollar value, the entry box was very indistinct, I thought that there was no entry box until I moused over the area and it popped out at me.
I don't recommend things, each one of my acquaintances is entitled to their own mistakes.

this familiar product remains straight forward to use.

We appreciated the suggestions made as we went along with filling in the forms.
I have one complaint: It was difficult to find your telephone number for help. It was not on the package or anywhere else I looked. I had to go to Intuit for the number.

Medical Expenses
Saving medical expenses to the spouse with the lower income does not ALWAYS give the best outcome. Turbotax should determine which spouse should have the medical expenses applied to give the best outcome and THEN let the user decide

Review not user-friendly
Once the "Review" process is initiated it is difficult to navigate back to the T1 return. The first time I tried the "Review" the computer froze and completely lost the return.

It was Ok at the start, but found it a bit confusing as you went on, the 2019 was much more simple easy to understand as specially where the Marriage was Concerned, anyway I hope everything was OK, I had to redo the download of Turbo Tax as it did not take to the first download. anyway we shall see how Next year goes.

easy to use
first time doing my own taxes in years. this was very easy to use. Hopefully, it is right. I paid for the service but they keep asking you to upgrade for more money. Did not like that feature.

More difficult than previous years
Had to enter spouses birthday, however when you went to enter it there was no spot on the spouse info page.
Also for spouses income it was asking questions that would require his taxes to be completed and we were not filing together. Was asking for income from line 23600 (or something like that) from the 2020 tax return. Should ask for income from box 14 on T4. Previous years programs have been way more user friendly. This years required 2 calls to support desk to find out what info they wanted. That's very inconvenient for something that would of just been included in the program.

Used Turbotax for many years - the Easystep method seems to cover all areas & leaves me with confidence that nothing was missed. One twist on the 2020 version is I found the Help function difficult to access & did not get it to work for me to explain processes & deduction requirements. Not sure what has changed there - has always worked in the past.
Still a Turbotax fan.

Monopoly?
Is there any other product on the market?
This years software (2020) was the most frustrating yet. The "fix" for a Netfile error (spouse DOB) took me to a page with no field for this error turning it into an endless loop. If it wasn't for another helpful user's tip on an error discussion page, I'd have had to wait in some heinous telephone queue. How long would that have been. THANK YOU rrupert403!!
A continuing frustration are the questions when Netfiling. As an example, there are only two options - paper filing or e-filing as if you're a newbie. Why is there not an option for veterans to avoid the misleading option questions?

2020 Return Standard
A bit more confusing from previous years. I found that the Investment income area was added twice in the results. There were 2 areas of input which I think is what caused this to happen.
Also we printing it asks if blank pages are to be omitted. I said yes and it printed them anyway.
