Used to be easier
It may be that things have had to change with updates and changes the government made to filing, but this year's version was the least user friendly I've ever used. It wasn't as intuitive and there were times I was asked to put information in and then couldn't find that section to go back to.

to find T4A (p) was not clear on how to find
also- adding medical expense for spouse with lower income did nothing for changing the refund- no change with medical or not.

2020 Review Generally Favorable
Generally happy with TurboTax as I've been using for at least 6 years. If I have to quibble:
- why doesn't quick fill (or whatever the term is) autofill personal information from my prior returns. You have to exit this to get this info.
- for at least 6 years now the popup windows are hard to read as the text is oversized and much info is outside the window. I have a generic Nvidia card. This should be fixed but passing comment info to Intuit is virtually impossible

Good product but...
Turbo Tax is a easy to use product. I use it for over 10 years now. But every year i want to claim the Northern allowance Turbo Tax will not open a "easy fill" page and i have to find the form and enter all info on the tax form. Turbo tax should finally fix this issue

Easy To Use
I find that the program is easy to use when there are no errors and if there are then it can get a bit complex but nothing that I couldn't fix by converting to the forms display then reverting back.

Needs work on CRA Interface
Filed for the 2 of us, CRA then Turbo Tax both crashed with the transfer of tax forms from CRA, rebooted Turbo tax and everything was okay the 2nd time through.

TurboTax Easy To Use Easy To Netfile
The complete start of a new tax filing gets right down to business as it brings over data from the previous year then provides access to CRA to pull down any T-forms directly into the software avoiding you having to type them in and possibly input in error wrong data. Once done you check it and if you are satisfied you Netfile. What could be easier than that!

Good Product
This is good however for the disability transfer and caregiver sections it is unclear if things were automatically entered? Very unclear wording so you are trusting it's happening. Had to keep looking at forms to make sure things were entered. Several typos as well.

What Happened?
This was the first time that Turbo Tax did not automatically transfer my basic info from the previous returns. I do not know what happened and tried to find help info for this but no luck.

Family Fun
We use Turbo Tax for all members of the family - three generations. It enable the transfers of credit/expenses easily, ensures that we have the best options for this particular year. I appreciate the "easy to use" format due to the many types of forms required for a family of five tax payers in various life circumstances. Well done!

Easy to use
Generally a great product and more convenient than manually filing by paper. Some sections could be improved, e.g. investment summary section is confusing and there is no help information.
The survey is very out of date and asked questions about 2018 return.

Convenient and Useful
Easy to use tax prep software. Easy Step process is very user friendly. However, if you are going to need to use the form view to complete your taxes and input data for something out of the ordinary you should by the desktop version with the disc and not the online version that does not give access to the actual tax form view.

Turbotax makes filing more fun
I like that Turbotax has so much flexibility so you can use the forms method and or switch back and forth between the easystep and forms method. Of course it also makes it possible to Net File for a quick return.

Faulty Info
After entering all investment slips such as T5's the next section just says "did you have any investments" -so if you enter them again you end up with a duplicate and pay extra tax. The heading should say if you have any investments that were not reported on T5's etc. -then enter.

2020 vs previous years

2020 Turbotax Review
I have used Turbotax for years. I like the EasySteps forms but my biggest criticism is about navigating the EasySteps form to be able to return to a particular page after completing the last step. I can do it by using the BACK buttom but it's not very convenient.

take you time
2020 tax year program will not let you save to turbo tax folder only allows you to save in PDF. 1st year this has happened.
Prints every page even if you click don't pint blank pages.
